Tampa Bay 06-22-2004, 07:46 PM Got to try my new Bandit HD MC, for the first time on my home track, a flat asphalt mid sized oval. I can't say that I set any track records, but I did beat my personal best in pro stock by a full two laps and was only beaten by two GREAT drivers. Rich Baran took the win, with Mike Boylan in second and yours truly only 11/100th of a sec. behind him! So, yeah I was extremly impressed (with the body) and I think they and the rest of the drivers were also! Steve Downs 06-22-2004, 09:55 PM I have a tech question. I just painted my 3rd Bandit body and all 3 times the window film has left residue. The most recent left ALOT. Question 1. What will remove the residue without damaging the paint or lexan? (I've tried rubbing alcohol already without results.) Question 2. Is this something that could be resolved totally with a different vinyl or paper material? (Would save headaches) Not bashing in anyway. The Bodies are awsome. It just when you sit for a few hours painting all the logos and graphics in and then that its iritating. Maybe I'm not the only one to have this happen. gary51 06-22-2004, 10:43 PM the window mask problem I to had a lot of problems with the bandit window masks i did not leave them on very long mabye ten minutes . they seem to streach and tear alot when they are removed and do leave alot of glue behind. i used lighter fulid to remove glue it took some doing and some time. i love the bodies but the window masks really need to be upgraded if posible. Gary Billy W 06-22-2004, 11:11 PM Steve unless i'm wrong your bodies came form the first batch that went out and those contained the originial batch of window masks. since then Rick has replaced it and from what i have used new material is much better. There may still be a few of the older masks out there and the best way to remove the glue is to wrap masking tape around your finger inside out ans tap the glue areas and it should come off with out any problem. Gary haven't seen much of the tearing but i know that all vinyl stretchs. If there are problems with the material still leaving glue please let us know. If we don't hear about it we can't inform Rick. Plus Rick told us the other day he gets info from here all the time from other people ( hey Ricky!!!). Billy @ Bandit Echeconnee 06-22-2004, 11:13 PM Gary, once you do get the mask off wad it up sticky side out and blot the excess glue off, it only takes a couple of minutes that way. Billy W 06-22-2004, 11:15 PM Cliff some of the early stuff won't let you do that. I got one of the earliy 1/12th bodies with it and it was pretty rough. Like i said Rick got with his supplier "JSI" and they helped out. Billy Steve Downs 06-22-2004, 11:44 PM Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try it. I'm not sure if it the one I got when we were at Coopers last month or on of the ones I picked up recently. I'll let you know how it works. Craig 06-23-2004, 10:19 PM Man I just had to add another testimonial about these bodies. I had one in the back seat of my Silverado the other day and while running down I-85 I noticed I had gained a two mile per hour advantage over the other traffic. BANDITS RULE! LOL (Just had to put something in, it was getting kind of dead in here.) Billy W 06-24-2004, 01:11 AM Not for much longer Craig it will be jumping soon. Ricks starting to toss ideas out to Charlie for more products so things might be picking up around here soon....... And let us know if anyone gets brave and tries the Taurus there. Eric Anderson ran one in Mod in Vegas and the car worked great..... your track isn't much different. Billy @ Bandit Craig 06-24-2004, 03:11 PM Hey billy, what's your e-mail I need to ask you something off line. cprahl@charter.net Billy W 06-24-2004, 04:56 PM YOu can get it under my contact info or thru BanditRCproducts@aol.com Billy @ Bandit Craig 06-24-2004, 10:52 PM Billy: YGM! Congrats to the winners. And big thanks to all that ran our bodies and picked up our new car stands. Congrats to Charlie and Kevin for taking 1st & 2nd in .09 gas this weekend on the "Bandit Gunslinger Nitro CHassis". BUt and even bigger Kudos goes out to Kenny Derr for taking a chance bought a Gunslinger Gas chassis after a disapointing run in one quailifier built the car with a little help from Kevin and Charlie before the "next" quailifier and according to his crew picked up close to a half a second a lap. And ended up running 3rd over all. Great Run Kenny !! Billy @ Bandit oval racer 2 07-05-2004, 03:56 PM how can i be so lucky, as to get one of those gunslingers!!!! i want to run .09 and .12 at the open in sept., so i need another chassis. thanks Tornado_Racing 07-05-2004, 06:04 PM Hey Billy, Show us some pics of the MC you painted for the web site. That is one of the sweetest bodies i've seen! I gave the body to Brooks for all of his help with motors and all. So he gets to sport the body st the ROAR ragionals.
