View Full Version : Official Bandit Bodies Thread................... Herc Driver 03-21-2005, 10:11 PM Hey all...won the "A main" wearing a Bandit Ford Tarus this weekend on my L4, at Branford Fla! Car hooks up nice, nothing but good things to say! Paul pbfontaine@hotmail.com John Card 03-22-2005, 01:01 AM How much of a difference is there between the regular Taurus, and the short track Taurus on a medium-small flat track? I have some of the regular bodies, but I'm wondering if I should try the ST. Who's run both? PUF19 03-22-2005, 11:08 AM I do, There is a BIG difference between the 2 bodies, for flat track I would with out dought run the ST, you will notice much better turn in and over all more planted in the corners. the regular Taurus will really free up a car, but might be a handfull in 19T and lower turn motors. I run the ST on flat tracks, and the regular on banks (K&N). NICK Billy W 03-23-2005, 05:42 PM Congrats on your run Paul glad the body performed for you.... John, Nicks right in his info but don't forget to try the regular Taurus..... A couple people have tried them and found that the reguler ford turns better for them.... Which in turn lets you know that there car is a bit on the tight side.... a couple guys have done this adjusted there cars till it becomes loose with the Regular Taurus and then switched to the ST Ford and were right on the money.... THe big diference in the two Fords is that the ST gives rear down force and helps turn in front design.. the regular Ford realy frees up the back end and reduces drag for better overall strait speeds.... Both are realy great it's just a matter of finding which one works for your needs, (driving/set up style) John Hauenstein, new Bandit team racer just added a lap to his local track record with the regular ford on a Hyperdrive Pro3. on a Flat track roughly 125 ft run line. So like i staited before key is finding which one fits your needs.......... Billy John Card 03-23-2005, 08:09 PM Well, my car tends to be tight anyway, so I'll run the regular one's I have for now and see how it goes - first race with this body is this weekend. Thanks for your replies  jmracing 03-23-2005, 10:25 PM this may have been answered already somewhere on here but i'll ask again.after the cars painted and cut out how can you tell the 2 tauruses apart? left turner 03-23-2005, 11:30 PM reg taurus number on winshield is 5000 ,short track is 5002 if i remember right. uspancarchamps 03-24-2005, 12:35 PM Just keep ARmon away from the "Bunny Ranch"....lol Billy @ Bandit Does bandit Bodies have a website? ddpierson 03-24-2005, 02:42 PM http://www.banditrc.com/ They don't have anything on it yet though. Billy W 03-24-2005, 11:44 PM JM the easiest way it to look on the front next to the lower grill the ST has two brake duct openings scribed in on both sides. US and dd it's coming. we have to get things right.... Billy BEACH 03-27-2005, 12:27 AM I am mounting a short track taurus up for some carpet action. Is it OK to lower the body a 1/4 inch up from the body lines? Thanks, Jim Billy W 03-28-2005, 01:33 AM Yeah... drop it as much as you want or your track rules allow. I usualy drop it down enven all the way around or just a hair down in front compaired to the rear... Billy BEACH 03-28-2005, 08:20 AM Sound good! consider it dropped, Thanks Chris Garland 03-28-2005, 10:53 AM I would like to try one of the Monte Carlo 12th sacle bodies . Billy W 03-29-2005, 06:06 PM Just the one for now "US"..... rowdy, the monte turns a little harder than the "ST". while it looks like the ST wouldturn more it actualy turns a little less. Nick B-man777 04-12-2005, 03:06 PM will bandit bodies ever put up their owne web site so we ca see pics of their producs?thanks and have a good day John Card 04-12-2005, 03:28 PM I have a number of people telling me to run a Proto HD MC body, but I REALLY want to run a Taurus. I currently have a Bandit regular Taurus, but I am looking at the ST Taurus too. Which one of these bodies is comaparable to the Proto body, and who can tell me how they compare and what the handling differences are. I dont want to run the MC unless I really have to - its a Ford/Chevy thing :-) Sorry if I offended anybody, but if I did, you probably wouldn't run a Taurus either, so you know how it is ;-) left turner 04-21-2005, 07:48 PM ok, got my bandit gas car coming to run the 09 class here. 200ft flat concrete, which body would do best in yalls opinon. short track ford or regular ford? maybe the dodge? kevina250 04-21-2005, 10:39 PM I would try the HD Chevy first. If you need it to turn more try the ST Ford then. Testing the Dodge this weekend so I couldn't tell you anymore about it. Echeconnee 04-21-2005, 10:52 PM I have a number of people telling me to run a Proto HD MC body, but I REALLY want to run a Taurus. I currently have a Bandit regular Taurus, but I am looking at the ST Taurus too. I dont want to run the MC unless I really have to - its a Ford/Chevy thing :-) Sorry if I offended anybody, but if I did, you probably wouldn't run a Taurus either, so you know how it is ;-) I absolutely love my Taurus ST. I run it on all lengths of tracks with pod mount and body mounted wings There are no front wheel cut out lines so if you know you will need more steering mount the body 1/4 to 1/2 inch forward of where you would mount the HDMC from protoform. Less teering, well just bring the body back to the bumper. It runs good on asphalt or concrete. I like the Bandit MC too it runs really well on a gas car, I TQ'ed with one in Daytona over all of these nitro hot shoes on here, lol so it had to be the body! Get those .09's ready to run @ echeconnee for the Southern 500 (date to be announced Monday on 2005 Echeconnee thread) There won't be any pit stops but you guys will spend lot's of time up on the wheel tryin to git er done! But info on part numbers and styles and whats available will help a lot. kevina250 05-09-2005, 09:59 PM I believe that is the reagular Taurus. Billy can help you on the part #'s and what body it is. Billy W 05-10-2005, 02:00 PM Kev is right that is the regular Taurus... if you go to page 23, post number335 there is a parts listing with retail prices.. street prices may vary...
