Sounds like I need to take your caaa home for the weekend to work on it! lol Either that or you should try my setup on the HW site. Or better yet, have you try my caa Friday. lol

Easy now George, must I remind you of who owns the track record in our class??? ;) I'll be back up there in the top few once I get my act together. No way is Jason gonna win another first place plaque while I'm there ;) ;) The student has become the teacher. hee hee lol. My setup that I posted on here a few pages ago will work again. I will be consolidating everything back into one car again for Pro-Spec. I've basically run out of money to be competitive in two classes. With my two FM rx's shot, I'm going back to my AM Futaba for this coming Friday until I get them fixed.

Now that we've open up the tire rule, should be interesting to see how long that track record stands.

YEAH IT PROBLY WON'T STAND FOR VERY LONG (TRACK RECORD) AND THEN WHEN SOMEONE BREAKS IT.THEN OPEN UP THE MOTOR RULES AND THEN BATTERIES AND BEFORE YOU KNOW IT SPEC (BEGINNER CLASS) WILL BE THE FASTEST AT HW...HEHEHEHEHEHEH

P.S. I LOVE GETTING YOU ALL FIRED UP..LOL

Shoot,I must be a 7 year beginner,lol
Wanna race the pro Spec against stock? Bet you won't lap me within 4 mins.
(Maybe) Or maybe I am jus talkin a bunch of garbage,LOL

I was runnin with the Pro-Spec drivers during a practice session one time and they never made it around to lap me,then again,it was practice,http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmilies.de/tongue3.gif Kevin

I think Lee will tell ya after Saturday night how much of a beginner I was to him and the others in the A-Main,LOL,no yellow stripe needed..

Exactly Eugene ;) Naaa, I'm just messin Chris. If he ran Spec he'd probably do 33 laps his first night. Its hard to get fast in 4-cell Stock. Just look at the masters, Bear and Tom recent Stock runs, they aren't throwing down 33 laps yet, I'm sure they'd do that the first night in Pro-Spec if they wanted to.

Thought I was runnin with the BIG dogs..:p
Wish I could, but I have all the wrong stuff for it,tires,motors,batterys,etc...
Might give a hand @ 19T in the next club race without being in the way of the points battle. ;)

The 30 Lap Breakout is sounding pretty good to me right now,I ran it up in Echeconnee, and they would deduct every lap you went under 7.0 second lap time, fun class, even ran against a brushless system...Alot of fun !!!!! Kevin

That sounds better than your idea of moving people that run more than 30 laps to the back. That system would probably have someone stopping on their 30th lap to "win" the race.

rcovalracer
08-09-2004, 09:09 PM
Another thing to they done was not call the lap times,so if you were breaking out, like the 7x's I did the first race I was in,you will not know until the end,and they would just take those laps from ya. (I ran 33 laps I won, wrong, the leader ran 31,but I had 7 taken away for breaking out)
Works great!!!!
You can go as many laps as possible, but can't break the lap time limit...Person with the most laps won, without breaking out or the less that is..
I just don't agree on booting someone out of a class, when I was there I just had to keep gearing it to slow down a bit and by the main I broke out once..

It is a blast!!!! Kevin

rcgen
08-09-2004, 09:25 PM
Yeah a breakout class you shouldn't boot the person out. Its all gearing, driving the high line and coming close to and and over the specified lap. I ran breakout at the old arlington track and it was fun. You basically are playing a mind game with the other drivers. This should be the fun class after pro-spec.

When does the next point series start and who all is doing the 100 lapper if its still a go?

yea you wont get booted out at all, heck i could run this class if i wanted to.and yes you do not get lap times or how much time is left in the race, all you get is the running order and when your done.the reason 30 laps is a good # is because you should have your car hooked up and driving well and should be able to pick any class and compete with out any problems.hope this helps bear

ps dont forget the points series starts on saturday night the 21st so get ready!!!we will have a new breakout champion!!!!good luck!

Anyone want to buy two very solid, very "fast" Trinity Street Spec cars for the break-out class? If you know anyone, let me and Jason know. These cars can barely break 29 laps as it is. I felt bad trying to sell it since there really wasn't a class to run them in. But with a break-out class, it would be a great car for that. I've ran 29 4.01 the last time I ran it on the new surface. And I hadn't ran it for months when I did. Jason has turned 30 in his but with a wing.

Thanks !

From what I understand its a run whatever you want class. I am just going to be running a 10L3 with the L4 conversion and a set it up to run the 4-cell stock class. Practicing for next point series basically.

Are we changing the series from 7 weeks to 8 weeks or is that a tipe o. Also when we ran brake out at First Coast they had a min. time on the last couple of laps.

I am still confused, what is the min. time on the last couple laps, they announce a minute to go?

Will there be any type of announcing while running this class?
What happens if you go over 30 laps in a heat race? DNF?
How will points be awarded in this class? Kevin

ok once more,

30 lap breakout rules

any car,any motor ie:oval car, truck, offroad truck/buggy what ever (just no gas cars)
you will be told when to start and the current running order but the time left in the race will not be told.
there is no lap time min/max
to win the race you must beat all the other cars that are racing at the time and turn no more than 30 laps.if you turn 31 laps or more you are disqualified for that round or main and the first car that stayed under the 30 lap mark is declared the winner.points will be awarded as any other class 1st,2nd and 3rd and so on.if you breakout in the main you get last place points.if multiable cars breakout the car that turned the faster run finishes in last then the next car and so on.
you cannot stop on the race track at any time in order to keep from breaking out.if the race director feels you are doing that your run will disallowed.
no extra timming devices are premitted for helping the driver know how many laps he/her has run.
hope this helps with the rules.and hope to see everyone next saturday!bear

I was pushing still last time we raced. I'm putting all my good stuff on one car for Pro-Spec. Last couple nights out I raced the 03 maverick with an L3 rear pod and old shocks. For this series I will run the 04 complete with all the good stuff. Steve is just too fast to try and bring my "back-up" car to compete with. Gonna be a good series.
Dan at bigdogrc.com has got three new packs and a new motor waiting for me. sweeeeeet.

Went to track today and tried the brushless system with spec tires and a 4c pack. It was way to slow for you Pro-Spec guys. I am going back to with the 6c spec batteries, spec tires, and spec motors.

I'll continue experimenting with it but it will be in the breakout class.

Shawn- May want to think about changing your Pro-Spec car # to #99!
From Jayski.com:
Red Sox Owner to team up with Roush and the #99? Red Sox owner John Henry is a huge NASCAR fan and would relish the opportunity to go racing for the Nextel Cup. He isn't known for doing anything halfway, and even if his foray into racing starts as a sponsorship deal on a car, his long-term goal appears to be owning a team. Henry's involvement with Roush could be one reason behind Jeff Burton's departure from the #99 Ford, which has been without a full-time sponsor since the season started. It has been 98 races since Burton, 37, last won. Bringing in a young, gregarious talent would marry well with a baseball sponsorship, and Carl Edwards, 25, certainly fits. Edwards, currently fourth in points with two victories this season in the Craftsman Truck Series, will make his Cup debut in the #99 Sunday (8/22) at Michigan.

Going to be wrenching tonight, might try and make it out to the track and test as well. Hopefully the weather will stay away for Saturday night. I wonder how many people will show up tomorrow night thinking its race night. I know a few that don't get on the internet and are going to be surprised tomorrow night. I got my batts and motor last night from Dan. Gotta throw the Dean's on now, hey its better than building the whole pack! ;)

Who me? I gave my old reliable 10lss to my son. I was going to race the hyperdrive in Pro-spec with the brushless system. After testing with one battery pack last Sunday, I wouldn't be competitive until I figure somethings out on the brushless. So the brushless hyperdrive is racing in the breakout against my son. I bought a L4 right before the last series started and never played with it.

Now my it's a bird, it's a plane, no it's SUPER L4 will be my Pro-Spec car. Do you see a SuperSpecCar in the near future at the track? Hmmm.

L4, sweeeeet. Steve picked one up as well, hopefully we'll see both of them out there this series. Saw Steve and Tom Padano and Jason tuning tonight at the track. Jason is getting around there better. STEVE IS FAST. Steve did a 33 4:03 with Jason on the track. He was humpin. Those good tires are going to prove much faster for us. I haven't tried the new tires yet with the spec. I've got three magenta's and a purple on there now, will use that for Saturday. I'm cycling my packs tonight and getting some numbers off of them to see which ones to run.

Shawn- Did ya ever get your receiver problems fixed? Again,I'm sorry I broke your other/spare receiver! BTW,don't seal-up a receiver or speedo with CA/super glue as the vapors will deteriorate the circuit boards and/or components inside, thus causing various problems. (I'm not sure if you do this or not.)
See y'all Saturday!

Not yet, will remeasure the antenna and try again. The problem is, I only glitched when there were 7+ drivers on the stand. Something impossible to test for until that situation arises again. If remeasuring doesn't do it I'm going to get a new XXL and be done with it and send it off.

Oh yea, PAYBACK IS A <beep>. Just kidding. I know us in Spec don't take each other out on purpose. We leave that up the 19t guys ;) lol.

Steve was measuring his tire wear last night and he was loosing a third less rubber each run than compared with the old spec tires. Good news for us. Pay a little more for the rubber and it last 2-3 times longer. Sweeet.
