To all out there in Dirtrunners Land. I just sent the results to Nick so he can post them on the website. Sorry for the delay. Things were kind of hectic here. He should have them up soon.

I checked the forecast for sunday and it looks like the rain should be gone by then. We will keep our fingers crossed. So far mother nature has been pretty good to us. We even ran a couple of times in a light drizzle. Hope to see you all on sunday......WAYNE :wave:Wayne, please re-export the standings, for some reason they aren't formatted correctly, thanks!

Hi, all. Thank you so much to Gary for introducing me to this forum. I appreciate it. I have a general question about classes. The T-maxx Off Road and Monster Truck Off Road differ in only one thing. T-maxx off Road is only for the T-maxx .15 and the Monster Truck Off Road is for T-maxx and Revo type trucks. Would these statements be correct? Is it possible to sign up for both when using the Revo for Monster Truck Off Road and T-maxx for T-maxx class? I know I have a long way to go to be competetive. I have been practicing when I can. Yes as Gary said I'm a MT Guy. I think I'm the only person who runs the LST. Even with my beginning racing skills I can still honestly say that the LST has too firm of a suspension. The truck doesnt seem to be able to absorb most of the bumps on the track. Could that be true? Once again thank you for welcoming me to DirtRunners.

Hi Speedyz, glad you were able to find your way here. Our two names for the monster truck classes are a little misleading, and we should really think about renaming them for next season. What we run in Monster truck is basically small block MT, and Unlimited MT. The small block class is the one named "TMaxx" on our schedule. This is a throwback to when the TMaxx was really the only MT around, and some club members wanted to run them. In this class you can basically run any MT with a small block (no bigger than an .18) motor. This class typically includes T Maxxes, Revos, and Tamiya TNXs. The unlimited class is made up of all MTs with a .21 or larger motor. We don't break that class out further to distinquish between pure MTs, like the LST, MGT, Savages, etc vs the truggies. They all go into this class. Some people also enter their Revos, Maxxes, TNXs etc into the Unlimited class. Because horsepower is not a big factor on our track with our short straights, the small block MTs are usually pretty competitive.

I don't know much about the LST to help you as far as setup, but it wouldn't suprise me to find out the stock truck is stiffly sprung. For racing on our smaller, ripply jumps, compared to big jumps when backyard bashing, the spring/shock package may be too stiff. I didn't see any optional springs for the LST on the Losi web site, so I don't know if you have any alternatives. My son pointed out an LST to me last Sunday at DR (must have been yours) and the shocks were very manly ;) They made the 1/8th shocks on my Maxx look wimpy.

Welcome to DR! Gary

I've always run a soft setup on my T-Maxx, which seems to work well on our track, since we really only have 1 large set of jumps (which really aren't that big!). If you can't find any springs, the only other option you'll have is to play with shock oil/shock pistons, although it does not give the same results, you have to make do with what you have I suppose.

Wait a minute, here we go!

From the Losi LST manual on the losi web site:

B2949 Shock Springs-White 4.0lb Rate
B2951 Shock Springs-Black 6.0lb Rate
B2952 Shock Springs-Yellow 7.4lb Rate

Try them out with a combination of different shock oils.

Rofl..... you'd have to run it in the Open Monster Offroad - the LST has a .26, i believe.... tmaxx offroad is really any truck w/ a small block engine (.12 thru .18) open monster is a truck w/ any motor (including Tmaxx w/ small block)

anyways, as for springs.... my brother is running losi Stadium truck springs on his TMaXX on the oval... green in front - light blue in rear..... its funny as hell... just experiment w/ softer springs.....

Did anybody find a hobbytown sport battery pack anywhere after the race? I lost one. I had to pay off some money to the bank and have little money and I have no more money till the end of the week again.

It would be nice if people had beater packs that I could buy off them. I dont care what condition, I just need working packs, actually running my car is more important than how long it runs for.

havent hears anything about a pack being found..... carl, i DO however have some 7 cell packs that i dont use - (2)3000mah and (2)2400mah packs.......
if you're interested........ they have only been changed from tamiya connectors to deans connectors.... i also got a few "shit" packs as well....

I am interested in the"shit" packs, do they have deans on them? I also run deans. I need them for my TL01B (that sweet baja king that held its own in 4wd mod) and a 7 cell wont fit, or be legal for racing. I have a race pack, 1900SCR, but would like to have 3 or 4 packs continuously running while practicing.

I appreciate any help..or batteries

Carl, I will check and see if I have any packs that you can have. The only problem is that they have'nt been charged since the last race indoors so they will need to be cycled a few times. Come see me at the computer in the morning. If we race that is.

Up here by me it is raining really heavy right now. I have checked the forecast and it says the rain should stop in the afternoon. If anyone can get to the track with a broom and sweep off the standing water it will speed things up for the morning. Thanks in advance for anyone's help........WAYNE

Erik - You really don't need much. The stock clutch, flywheel, motor mount, and Traxxas starter hardware (either EZStart, pullstart, or RotoStart) will all bolt right onto the Fantom. Carb linkage is identical. The only thing you need is an airfilter - the Fantom carb has a smaller neck than the Traxxas. We are using the Dynamite 2504 foam filter. You would be smart to also run Dynamite 2610 prefilter with that. As to pipes, Kevin and Steve VanHorn's Fantoms are both using Sirio BigBore pipes, and I run the Fantom steel pipe made for the motor. I recommend the Sirio, because it's cheaper, its lighter, it makes great bottom end power, and its easy to tune. The Fantom uses a unique header for the motor - can't use the Traxxas one - but the header comes with the motor.

You may also want to consider the OS CVR 18 - very good motor. Also, lots of talk about OS coming out around November with a rear exhaust 18 made specifically for Maxxes and Revos. Since the season is almost over anyway, it might be worth waiting to see if anything happens there.

We've been really pleased with our Fantoms, especially for the price. We've beat the piss out of Kevin's for two years now and it is as strong as ever, and with zero maintenance, and virtually no tuning. Still those OSs are very strong, and OS reliability, especially in the area of carbs, is very good.

Kyle, the new track layout at the Barn really looks good. I will mention it tomorrow at Dirtrunners. Maybe we can get a class trip going to Chester the same way we did to Honesdale,PA. We shall see. The old layout was really geared towards 1/8 scale buggies. But the new design should work with anything. Lou did a nice job...WAYNE
