Race somewhere else then! Please, please, please don't be so negative about our track and the manner it is taken care of, it is a fantastic facility. If you don't like it, then race somewhere else, it is that simple. But, please do not come on here and bad mouth the track, we worked most of the day on it, and I think it is in much better shape than it started out in.

Nick

well next year when we get top soil it will be much better

Robert,

The meetings are usually just the board members, and besides, there usually isn't much going on in them. I think George will need to say if they're open or not, he has the bi-laws...but they're boring! Why would you want to be there if you didn't have to!?

Hey Nick,

I would like to be as big a part of the club as I can, but I do have limited time to help. I do as much as I can, and given that I probably could make that time on Friday I just thought it would be a good gesture to be there. I also like to learn as much about all facets of the hobby. It really has become a part of my everyday life. If you don't feel that you would like me to come, I will not be insulted in any manner and you can just tell me. Just let me know one way or the other, it is fine with me.

Nick-
just to let ya know.... i really appreciated you loaning me the body for the main....

Charlie, Wayne, and the other board members -
i think the race was a big success, despite the darkness.... its part of life- we cant make 100% of the people happy 100% of the time. i am sure there are things we can do to make things smoother, and a little better - but damn, ya'll did a GREAT job! so what if it got a little dark? so what if we didnt have enuff lights? a lot of people had fun..... and if a little darkness ruined somepeople's day, so be it... i'm more pissed at mother nature for making it dark that early! i say we protest mother nature! if we need anything for the club, just let me know.... i'm thinkin of just bein a spectator for the rest of the outdoor season - and just enjoy watchin my bro run that t-maxx. i also want to do more for the club.

Wayne and I have been posting on a thread I started about Dirtrunners over on a forum run by Unlimited Engineering. UE makes the best top end Maxx parts, and a lot of their customers who post on their forum happen to live in our area, which is why I started the thread. There was a post on the thread last night that I'd like to share with the club members here for several reasons. First, because I think we should all feel good about the atmosphere we created in the club. Two, it should encourage us all to continue in the direction we've started on. Three, the poster reminds us of a point that we should all keep in mind while racing at the track. BTW, I don't know who the poster is, although I can assume he is a MT guy. Here's what he posted:

I've found a home

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone at dirtrunners. For years I have been searching for a good spot to run my RC trucks. I found the track after searching the net. On my first visit to the track I was overwhelmed with all the hospitality that everyone showed to me as well as each other. Rc racing in new to me. I'm getting better though. You guys are wonderful. I joined the club last Sunday because I feel I'm obligated to support the club. You have indeed given more to me than I have given back. The track looks very well maintained. Everyone is very helpful. I often have questions about the hobby and when I ask a club member I have always got a helpful answer. I'm a little concerned about one small issue. Not everyone is cleaning up after themselves. I'm concerned because someone is picking up after these people. That is not right. This is our track. We should keep it clean this way it will always be there for us. I think we should all pitch in to keep it clean. One good way is to simply pick up after yourself. Once again thank you so much for giving me the oportunity to enjoy this hobby with so many wonderfull people.

Give yourself a round of applause, DR racers -- and pick up your trash ;) . Gary

The Bi-Laws state, that the Executive Committe shall meet at a time and place designated by the President and a quorum (2/3 of Election Officers) shall be present for the transaction of any business. If at any meeting of the Executive Committee there shall be less than a quorum present, the Executive Committee members present may adjourn the meeting from time to time until a quorum is obtained and at any such adjourned meeting at which a quorum is present, any business may be transacted as would have been conducted at the meeting originally called. To the extent permitted by law, a resolution in writing, signed by all of the Executive Committee, shall be as vbalid as if it had been passed at a meeting of the Executive Committee duly called and constituted. Believe me guys, I didn't write this, I just copied it from the Bi-Laws.Basically, I just want to discuss how we can keep the club moving in the positive direction that it appears to be going. If other club members have ideas to help improve the club, I don't see the harm in listening to them. Remember this is everyone's club. Please pick-up your garbage, if the town doesn't renew our gathering permit, because it sees garbage laying around nobody races, and I don't think anyone wants that. Charlie
