The speed control can not retail for more than $130. So, if we run by what will be the trinity rules, no. Its about cheap affordable racing, so something like a futaba speed control or a sport speed control from the major manufacturers, I got a Mtroniks speed control, there is also duratrax, lrp, novak, gm...

Nick
Absolutely NOT! it isnt the final FINAL... never will be.... its only final when Wayne gets up on the mic or the stage and booms it out with that voice of his.... hahahahhaha, and by that time, it usually has been discussed by everyone, and a consensus it taken... rofl.... well, who cares what happenes to the tabletop??? i just want that triple fixed!

i think, for next time, we should use a base of some other material for our jumps, wether it be PIPE, PLYWOOD, DEAD BODIES, Cheese's MF2, or whatever we can get our hands on. that way we conserve on dirt, and they wont break down as quick over time....
thats my $.02

(i seem to have a lot of $.02)

Remember the huge table top deal we had, that was a total wood base and it kept needing to be repaired, and if we use a smaller base, with more dirt, we still run into the problem of eroding dirt. It would be a small savings, but then again this year we only got 3 loads of dirt (I think, right George?). With the 4th that’s coming, we'll have plenty. Usually the club gets 4 I believe, but this year the track didn't need it (until recently).

interesting.... i'm not talking about a LARGE base like that one POS huge tabletop we had last year..... just a little "shaper" of foreign object... i am still talkin about having like a MOUND of dirt over the "foreign object" base..... not like just an INCH or so... a FEW inches of dirt... like 4..... but whatever...

I think the biggest help would be to make the sides of the jumps out of wood, that would help keep them together...

It wasn't a POS, it was a work of art, all that metal, we probably could have raced real cars on it!

oh and as for the sides outta wood... mebbe we could use like plastic board because it wont ROT.... whatever..... i am being nitpicky i guess... but side supports are definately a good idea.... i'll check out the local ice arenas to see if they are throwing out any dasher boards or plexiglass......

-mikeUse the electronics from your buggy in it, that way you can race your truck and the T-spec. So all you'll need is the kit (with battery, motor and body) and a cheapo speed control. I finally tried the tempo-11 Mtronkis speed control last night, and it works great, it'll be perfect for the T-spec. Finally you'll need some tires, and I would suggest to start out with plaids/purples, they are pretty much the standard setup for touring on carpet, and are a good starting point.

Plaids.... purples.... i figure Cheese would be best suited for PINKS... since PINK is his favourite Colour!

anyways, it looks good for me on SATURDAY!! i'll be there with Bells On.......

Right now I'm having lunch, but I am working, I sit in front of a computer all day, so I just keep the hobbytalk window minimized and refresh it every so often.

If you're looking for a motor to race, I'd hold off getting it unti'l after the challenge when we figure out our 19 Turn motor rules. It is possible that we go to club 19Turn motor as well, so If you're going to get a motor to race, I'd hold off.

That being said there are a couple you could look at, the Binary 19T, the D6 based 19T, and the reedy based 19Turn. Of those, the D6 based 19Turn will be harshest on your batteries, but it will also be fastest. If you're running 3000/3300 you should not be having problems making run time with a 19 Turn motor, if you are, I'd look at your batteries and see if there's a bad cell or if they're false peaking.
