I would consider running a T-Spec, if TONE and I ran TC MOD we might just move the stage. :)

GeorgeW 08-16-2004, 02:16 PM I would consider running a T-Spec, if TONE and I ran TC MOD we might just move the stage. :) nicwald 08-16-2004, 02:17 PM You run at dirtrunners ever??? i like putting faces to names! i only ran a few races last year indoors..... -Tone SHADOW = Dirk Douma, he didn't race last year, I think he stopped up a couple times. He used to race with us :( but now he races at Marshalls. Nick SHADOW 08-16-2004, 02:18 PM You run at dirtrunners ever??? i like putting faces to names! i only ran a few races last year indoors..... -Tone Didn't run there last winter but did for a couple years. nicwald 08-16-2004, 02:18 PM I am running the book gearing, and i have the surge packs, i think i might have to take a closer look at the motor the front springs are smaller on the buggy right(question mark) Yeah, you got it! Nick nicwald 08-16-2004, 02:20 PM Nick..... will an 11x5 be fast enuff (powerful enuff) to compete and get the HELL out your way in TC mod??? i just dun wanna screw up the flow in that class too much... i been studyin the TC3 a lot lately..... oval setups and all.... if not, i was thinkin of gettin a 9x4 armature and sticking it in my binary cans that i used to use outdoors..... -Tone I've had a lot of luck with double winds with the touring car. The latest motor I've been running is the 10x2 vantage...if regular brushes I run 9x2. I can give you a ball park setup that I run, if you want... Nick nicwald 08-16-2004, 02:21 PM I would consider running a T-Spec, if TONE and I ran TC MOD we might just move the stage. :) I'll see what I can do... Nick eviltone 08-16-2004, 02:22 PM I would consider running a T-Spec, if TONE and I ran TC MOD we might just move the stage. :)Ouch...... hehe.... i wont suck this year, i promise.... i am tryin to convince my bro to get a T-spec.... he wants a tc3 tho badly..... wants to run 19T... wait till i move out to mod... he'd wanna follow... Charlie, do u think that you're THAT bad??? c'mon, you're prolly (definately) better than me! Nick..... what you runnin in your XXX-S??? and are you gonna run Mini-T Oval indoors this year???? -Tone EDIT: Disregard the motor question... we typin at the same time...... eviltone 08-16-2004, 02:24 PM Didn't run there last winter but did for a couple years. i'll DEFINATELY see you at Marshalls...... i'll prolly run Mini-T Oval and 1/10 Pan - dunno what class... i like going FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAST! -TOne eviltone 08-16-2004, 02:27 PM I've had a lot of luck with double winds with the touring car. The latest motor I've been running is the 10x2 vantage...if regular brushes I run 9x2. I can give you a ball park setup that I run, if you want... Nick werd.... the reason i was thinkin of runnin a x4 or a x5 is i am concerned about smoothness.... and as for a ballpark setup, thats cool too... i'll just take some suggestions (especially Tire suggestions.....)... are yu still gonna run that Losi Sedan, or did you make a jump to the Shaft TC3??? -Tone nicwald 08-16-2004, 02:28 PM Ouch...... hehe.... i wont suck this year, i promise.... i am tryin to convince my bro to get a T-spec.... he wants a tc3 tho badly..... wants to run 19T... wait till i move out to mod... he'd wanna follow... I don't have a XXX-S, I run a TC3! I run a 10x2 vantage or a 9x2 regular brushed motor. Setup: 40wt oil all around -2 degrees camber all around 0/-1 degree toe in the front 0 degree ftont caster blocks Blue and red springs (Blues in the front, I think) purple tires all around, cut down pretty small 5.5mm ride height all the way around the car body as low as you can get it (protoform mazda 6) Not sure on gearing off the top of my head I think thats a good starting point. Nick eviltone 08-16-2004, 02:28 PM I'll see what I can do... Nick yah, just drive your truck into the parish hall and push the thing back!! -Tone nicwald 08-16-2004, 02:31 PM werd.... the reason i was thinkin of runnin a x4 or a x5 is i am concerned about smoothness.... and as for a ballpark setup, thats cool too... i'll just take some suggestions (especially Tire suggestions.....)... are yu still gonna run that Losi Sedan, or did you make a jump to the Shaft TC3??? -Tone Thats good for offroad and dirt, but touring cars are nice with doubles...I didn't like singles, though...I think I have a 9x3 that ran pretty good as well, but I like the double winds better, get a 10x2 round brush setup, they're nice. Nick nicwald 08-16-2004, 02:32 PM yah, just drive your truck into the parish hall and push the thing back!! -Tone No, no, about the T-Spec! Nick eviltone 08-16-2004, 02:34 PM I don't have a XXX-S, I run a TC3! Nick WHAT THE HELL???? i thought you had a XXX-S...... heh... i'll try the spring setting for sure.... is 5.5mm the lowest ride height that we can go??? i think with my small ass foams, i was running like 3mm last year.... as for my body that i gonna run - Honda Civic..... i'll be sure to slam it as low as possible... if not, i'll get a new body, like a lambo or sumfin..... as for gearing, dun worry bout it, i'll figure it out.... and..... i think i'll run that 40 weight too.... no sway bars or anything Nick??? mine has them installed already..... i ran it in the street w/ a 14turn geared like 24/72 (i think....) and it was friggin FAST..... -Tone eviltone 08-16-2004, 02:39 PM Thats good for offroad and dirt, but touring cars are nice with doubles...I didn't like singles, though...I think I have a 9x3 that ran pretty good as well, but I like the double winds better, get a 10x2 round brush setup, they're nice. Nick Thank you for clearing that up! for right now, i think i will just get an armature for one of my current cans that i was using.... mebbe a 10x2 d6 type.... what classes of T-Spec we gonna run... i KNOW Wayne gots one, so that'll mean an oval class for sure!!! -Tone eviltone 08-16-2004, 02:41 PM No, no, about the T-Spec! Nick oh oh oh..... oh oh oh..... 000000h 00000000h.... so u gonna come up this weekend to race???? -Tone nicwald 08-16-2004, 02:45 PM WHAT THE HELL???? i thought you had a XXX-S...... heh... i'll try the spring setting for sure.... is 5.5mm the lowest ride height that we can go??? i think with my small ass foams, i was running like 3mm last year.... as for my body that i gonna run - Honda Civic..... i'll be sure to slam it as low as possible... if not, i'll get a new body, like a lambo or sumfin..... as for gearing, dun worry bout it, i'll figure it out.... and..... i think i'll run that 40 weight too.... no sway bars or anything Nick??? mine has them installed already..... i ran it in the street w/ a 14turn geared like 24/72 (i think....) and it was friggin FAST..... -Tone Galo runs a XXX-S, and Gary Kosits ran one also. I've always run the TC3. 3mm is way too low, the car will drag when cornering, and you'll definitely hit the bumps. I'd dump the honda civic and get a mazda 6, mg, stratus 2.0, alfa romeo 2.0, chrysler 300m, infiniti G35, they have all worked well for me. I don't run any sway bars, and I think Jon Williams was running a similiar setup to me as well. I know Mark Santee was running the same seyup I was running, but I don't know what he's running now. Usually its pretty standard to run plaid fronts with purple rears for carpet, but I like the purples all the way around for our carpet. Nick USPatriot 08-16-2004, 02:48 PM you guys are making me want a turing car now, decisions nicwald 08-16-2004, 02:48 PM Thank you for clearing that up! for right now, i think i will just get an armature for one of my current cans that i was using.... mebbe a 10x2 d6 type.... what classes of T-Spec we gonna run... i KNOW Wayne gots one, so that'll mean an oval class for sure!!! -Tone Wayne got one? Well, If there is enough interest I would like to run the road course class, and I'm sure there will be an oval class. I'm also sure our rules will use the foam tires. I emailed trinity about official rules, but I still haven't heard anything back from them yet...We'll just have to wait it out. Nick nicwald 08-16-2004, 02:50 PM oh oh oh..... oh oh oh..... 000000h 00000000h.... so u gonna come up this weekend to race???? -Tone I don't know, I might, I need to see what is going to be going on at work...I'd like to, but time will tell. Nick eviltone 08-16-2004, 02:50 PM Galo runs a XXX-S, and Gary Kosits ran one also. I've always run the TC3. 3mm is way too low, the car will drag when cornering, and you'll definitely hit the bumps. Nick that would explain a lot of the spinouts with the 3mm ride height! i have an alpha romeo already painted - looks like the jamaican flag - that i ran last year..... i've got all poiples in new foams now.... do u know of anyone w/ a tire truer that would be able to tru them bizznitches fer me?? -Tone eviltone 08-16-2004, 02:54 PM Wayne got one? Well, If there is enough interest I would like to run the road course class, and I'm sure there will be an oval class. I'm also sure our rules will use the foam tires. I emailed trinity about official rules, but I still haven't heard anything back from them yet...We'll just have to wait it out. Nick Yah he did.. i was there when he bought it.... if you are gonna run a road course, mebbe i'll pick one up too.... http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/WTI0095P?FVSEARCH=TRI90004&FVPROFIL=++&search3=Go werd to my mawm! (and your mawms tewwwww) -Tone nicwald 08-16-2004, 02:57 PM you guys are making me want a turing car now, decisions T-Spec is a cheap way to get into touring cars, I got mine for $140 with battery and motor, and it is like street spec with price limitations on speed controls (Nothing more than $130 retail). I got a Mtroniks speed control, and you can get it on stormer for $40 the tempo-11 or something like that. The tires are a bit pricey, but cheaper than regular touring tires. Thats about all you can change in the kit, and it comes built, and there isn't much you can do to free it up, so its pretty much ready to race out of the box. Nick nicwald 08-16-2004, 03:04 PM that would explain a lot of the spinouts with the 3mm ride height! i have an alpha romeo already painted - looks like the jamaican flag - that i ran last year..... i've got all poiples in new foams now.... do u know of anyone w/ a tire truer that would be able to tru them bizznitches fer me?? -Tone I have a truer if you want them cut down, just drop them off at zeppelin and I can puck them up there. Sounds like I am going to be heading back to NJ this weekend again, so I can pick them up there Friday. Nick nicwald 08-16-2004, 03:05 PM Yah he did.. i was there when he bought it.... if you are gonna run a road course, mebbe i'll pick one up too.... http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/WTI0095P?FVSEARCH=TRI90004&FVPROFIL=++&search3=Go werd to my mawm! (and your mawms tewwwww) -ToneDamn, so you can buy the kit, get a mtroniks speed control and use a radio/reciever/servo you already have, and you're only at $170! I definitely want to run the road course. Nick kybob 08-16-2004, 03:19 PM Wayne got one? Nick When i get mine i would want to race on the road course nicwald 08-16-2004, 03:28 PM When i get mine i would want to race on the road course Cool, then we'll have at least 3 on the road course! Nick nicwald 08-16-2004, 03:30 PM Dirk, Can you see whats going on with Frank, if he's going to come back and race some small stuff with us, Bill and he were having a blast racing 1/10 gas on the oval. Nick eviltone 08-16-2004, 03:49 PM What do you have against Mtroniks, they'll replace your speed control if it frys no questions asked, you can't go wrong with that! Nick i gots NOTHING against them..... nothing at all!!! i used to run one! i had an mtroniks trucker 100% waterproof esc for my stampede!! i think Mtroniks esc's are real good.... but, i just dun wanna order from hobbypeople or stormer. and for 30 bux, can you go wrong w/ that futaba Oem shizz??? -Tone eviltone 08-16-2004, 03:53 PM Oooooooh ... speaking of esc's.... if one had a choice, which one would you get??? tekin G-10 Pro (NEW STOCK) https://www.ssl-stormerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/seekpart.pl?pn=TEK1420 or..... Nick nicwald 08-16-2004, 04:43 PM it would be nice to have the woops but as long as the triple and the table are fixed then wateva They will be, we have a whole load of clay to fix them up to how they should be, the track should be better than when we first built it.
