Robert, bring your 4wd along and we can ask the other guys in the class if they mind you running a truck. If we have a 4wd class. You might just be the 4th person, which would allow the class to run....................WAYNE

Hey guys,

I heard that some people might be bringing 4wd buggies to this race. I currently have an electric hpi rs4 mt that I use to bash because its 4wd and quiet. I have a mod motor. Should I bring it tommorow and see how it does on the track, and if it is ok, will I be able to race with you guys?

Thanks,

RobertI have no problem with that. I'd just like to get this class going.

Hope the rain holds off!!

I am just about to leave to head to the track and the forecast is great. Now it is changed to only partly cloudy. No mention of rain till very late at night. Looks to be another fantastic day of R/C FUN at Dirtrunners. I can't wait.

Craig stopped at the track yesterday and posted that it needs work. We will have it ship-shape today.

See all shortly. If there is anyone that can't make it for one reason or another. You will be missed...................WAYNE-OUT

Yes Craig we still have Ifmar starts. I think everyone did great.136 entries and we still finished by dark. Just barely though.

Thanks out to all who helped out yesterday in one way or another.

I think fun was had by all. At least the people I spoke to.

I will send Nick the results later today, so he can get them upo on the website.

So, did everyone see that Dirtrunners sponsors the forum that our thread is on. I think that is way coooooooool.

Will post more later. Have to get some sleep.................WAYNE-OUT

Great day of racing! Had a blast yesterday. I thought the gas mains were especially insane to watch. :)

Congrats to Mike C. on his wins in buggy and truck! Great driving and man, don't change a thing on those cars. They're slammed!

John Marcotte and I wanted to give you a run for your money in the main and both of us ended up making the wrong changes...John's car had *zero* speed and my truck was basically undriveable. Oh well, I guess I'm still a dirt-racing novice.

Again, good job on running the race, Wayne and Chuck. You guys are doing a bang-up job.

Howdy to all. The results are flying through cyberspace to Nick as I am typing this. He should have them posted on the website soon. What a great day of racing. Congrats go out to all the winners.

It was great to have some outside invaders come and race with us. Reminder- next weekend is the two day Nitro event at Barnstormers. 3 heats on saturday and 1 heat and the mains on sunday. In between the heats and mains on sunday they are having a bar-b-q. Should be a great time. I will be there at least one of the days if not both. :)

Later guys!!!!! (And Gals)..................WAYNE-OUT

Wayne, the results were not all there, and the formatting was funky, try sending the results again, but if possible, send me the .htm file, then we won't have to worry about formatting and I can put the results right on up.

Nick - Wayne also sent me a copy of the results, and they look funky on my end, too. The formattting goes off both in the results displayed in the body of the note, and in the attached .htm file. I just spoke with Wayne on the phone, and he said it looks good when he views the file on his PC, both as a "sent" note and as an .htm file. When he sends you the note, he has to both display the contents of his file in the body of his note as well as attach it. For example, if he wants to send you a photo, the photo apprears as a picture in the body of the note, as well as being an attached .jpg file. If it doesn't do that he gets a javascript error message. He uses Netscape Communicator as his email program, because he has a free netscape email account. I think the problem is in Communicator, but I have no experience with it and I can't halp him fix it over the phone. Interestingly, when I try to open the attached .htm file, the default program my PC uses is Internet Explorer (as it should) and the formatting is worse (and different) than if I detatch the file and open it in Word. In Word it is less scrambled.

If we can't straighten it out over the phone I'll get a copy of the .htm file on diskette from Wayne and I'll email it to you. I've never had problems with the .htm results file that Autoscore produces in the laptop, so I have to believe the problem we're having is in Wayne's sending PC.

Any ideas from you, or any Netscape users out there have a clue??

its the Nutscrape formatting for sure... it works much like AOL's Garbage, and also like Yahoo email.. but yahoo DOES work better.... there is not much that can be done about that.... but what CAN be done is the file could be ZIPPED and sent.... that might work.... or, someone can get the floppy from wayne if he is at Zeppelin anytime soon....

Well, since its being sent to my AOL account, I have far less control over what I can view in a message, and AOL did not allow me to download the .htm file at all...Could you explain to wayne how to use a ftp site, he could just ftp it onto the d/r site, and I can get at it from there...if you think he could (he can go through internet explorer easily enough for ftp). If he can let me know and I will give you the username/password for the site, so he can upload it.

also, if it is web based, the email that he uses, that is the problem there, but if he uses the email client built into the Nutscrape Cuminatater, there are settings to keep everything PLAIN TEXT..... the way shizz handles email these days really SUCKS!! i have Outlook 2003, and gosh damn.... it dont download any images unless i TELL it to... and it royally messes up emails from EVERYWHERE unless they are plain text emails.... any Rich Text emails or HTML based emails are royally screwed.... i am gonna have to write my own program i think........

-ToneJust use text line email. You don't need pictures, if you want to see them that bad then just download them.

Then you don't have to worry about getting viruses from the preview pane on outlook (although I think they fixed that problem)

yah... it took me a while to get used to them.... i realize the benefits, really i do... but it was just a surprise... as for the preview pane... that is ALWAYS off... i NEVER use that damn evil incarnation.... i use the rule "if you dont know who sent you the email, you dont open it...."... plus my Anti-Virus software (Nod32 - www.nod32.com (http://www.nod32.com) ) checks the mail on arrival, and upon exit too.... that way i CANT send virii, and it can cut down on the chance of me recieving one..... the thing that annoys me still about the newest incarnaion of this outlook, is the rules wizard's insistance on specifying for THIS COMPUTER ONLY, so the rules created with the wizard NEVER work w/o removing that default setting.... totally ghey if you ask me....
as i see it... its practice for me for my next job, playing with this software....

Rather than spend a lot of time trying to get Wayne to redo his way of sending email, I'll hook up with him this week and get the physical diskette and email the .htm to you. This was an unusual circumstance that kept e from the race this week. That said, it would probably be a good idea if we had a backup plan and person to update the website if you got run over by a speeding bus, or if you had a catastrophic PC failure. I'd be glad to help with that - we should talk. Having built the site and run it this past year for the NE USRA I feel pretty comfortable with the process. I'll let you know when Wayne and I can connect.

Through Internet Explorer it is pretty painless, but just let me know when you get it. I'll be in NJ for this week (I'll get there tonight, so I can still do it from there).

Its really easy to update the site, it comes down to editing text files and copying/pasting/modifying html to post results and pictures.

If you're up at zeppelin on friday we can talk about it then.

I could go back into all of the races we've run so far and put together a sheet the old fashioned way, but that is a lot of work....I do not know if we've been keeping up with the computer tracked points series, if we have then it would be easy, the program spits out a web ready version of that as well...but thats an if....
