mark
No Mark, I'll be down here in Md, I built Charlie the light car to try though, it looks promising.
Nick
nicwald 07-21-2004, 08:28 AM You mean the broken AC, or should I say fridge?? That poor AC unit never had a chance at 45 degrees
Mike
Come on it was only 48 hours at sub-artic conditions!
What about the fire alarm at 3 in the morning? or The Tmaxx down the hallway!

I forgot about the fire alarm and how Chris called it before we went to sleep. I didnt run my Tmaxx down the hall, even thought I wanted to. You also forgot when I walked into the hall in my boxers and tried to talk to the girls.

nicwald 07-21-2004, 10:53 AM The BMI chassie is the nicest thing ive seen in a long time. The batteries are moved in and foward compared to the stock tc3 chassis out there. The craftmanship is a 10+. They retail for $119.00 for complete kit braces motor mount, stand offs ect. Besides the weight. I just got done building my second BMI today with good elec. Q2 ,Nov. rec and jr servo and it weights 46ozs. Thats light you can add weight where you need it at that weight. The first time I drove my first bmi car it wasnt even set up 100% and it still was a dream. Ceramic bearings are real smooth and power helpers I noticed they reall spun better and thats what you need for stock touring. 1 thing I would recomend is Warpspeed trans cases for the tc3 there only$35 for complete set to do entire car they are bored to have trans super free and the plastic holes for mounting shock tower and upper case are heli coiled.
As for Sunday im also gona have to miss the family did a last min. 25th anv. party for family member and if I dont go ill be divorced. :cry:I've heard mixed thing about the Warpspeed Tranny cases. I've heard that they are not all the way "blueprinted" and you still need to do some dremel work to get the car as free as possible; and does anyone know who makes/distributes the ceramic bearings?

Thanks Tone, I just found them. I was also looking around at Boca's site, and I also see that Hardcore and Trinity have a kit together for the TC3. I'm not sure where they get their bearings from though...Probably Boca or Acer, they're pretty much the game in R/C. I know the R/C for less bearings are ACER...I wonder if I could get them through McMaster Carr....food for thought...

John Tag 07-21-2004, 12:27 PM Ive got Warpspeed trans cases in all my cars now and never had to touch them, they dont get no better. My trans is as free as they get. I also got my ceramic bearings from r/c for less the last time I got Boca bearings they were $50 more and were junk.AE factory drivers claim if you can get your trans to spin 25-30 sec without pinion your golden, mine spins 30+ sec with 58mm foams that dont way much at all

Sounds like the hot setup then, I know I'm going to get a BMI chassis, and probably will get the ceramic bearings (I'll give the durability a shot), but I don't know if the warpspeed trans cases are worth the investment, I got my car very free, but I will have to see. Thanks for your input!

wayneny 07-21-2004, 07:34 PM Nick, you can race! You just won't be able to stay for the mains. But you can still get in some action. You could run the mains then head right back to Maryland. You would just get a little less sleep...............WAYNE

wayneny 07-23-2004, 05:58 AM :freak: Good Morning to everyone out there in Dirtrunners land. I would like to remind everyone that on sunday morning you can go to www.dirtrunners.com to find out if the race has been cancelled. You have to CLICK on weather update to bring up if the race was scratched. If it does not say that the race is cancelled then we are racing. We have run two races so far this season in less than ideal weather conditions. Not to mention that we had over 100 entries both times. I am looking forward to seeing everyone on sunday...WAYNE-OUT

Wayne - Just so it's clear to those folks that may be travelling some distance and are leaving home early to head to the track, what time is the go/no go decision posted on the website? Maybe on an iffy day like Sunday looks to be, even if we don't cancel, it might be best to post a message that says "we are racing today" -- make it a little more obvious to anyone looking at the site. Just a thought...
G
wayneny 07-23-2004, 09:39 AM The website gets updated by 7:30AM on sunday morning. If you click on weather update and it does'nt say the race is cancelled then we are racing. I don't have any way to change the website except to edit the text thruogh Nick. If anyone has any questions let me know.......WAYNE
craftmastaschiz 07-23-2004, 08:43 PM hey wayne i was wondering next year can we go back to the regul;ar starts cause there is just as much crashing as lats year cause people will catch up and lap and crash etc. so i was wondering if we could go back

Craig, since it very well may rain this Sunday, I gave Gary your packs. They're all ready to go. Just send him an e-mail at ghuber@surgebatterymatching.com and you guys can coordinate someplace to meet (i.e.: outsize Zeppelin's etc.)

Tone, what we are seeing is exactly what i was worried about. We are getting guys that run great by themselves, but cant run in traffic. All we have had this year is HORRIBLE first laps starts, and major tie-ups. Personally i was never for the IFMAR start thing, but hey, i missed the meeting that we voted on it...

wayneny 07-24-2004, 01:16 AM Hey guys, we will have to see how the track is on sunday morning. We had a lot of water on the track before. Charlie will bring his small pump just in case. We have brooms and will get the track driveable in no time. So far we have run in light rain with no problem. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

wayneny 07-24-2004, 06:42 PM Heard from someone who stopped by the track today. He said that fish could swim there is so much water. If anyone can get there early try to.This way we can get the water off and let it dry out. The last time it did'nt take long to dry once all the standing water was gone.
Remind me in the morning about the IFMAR starts in truck and buggy and we can vote again to change them. Nothing is written in stone. I'll set it up the way everyone wants.
Tone, I will put my genny in the car in case.
See you all bright and early..............................WAYNE

rgross98 07-24-2004, 09:00 PM Hey guys,
I heard that some people might be bringing 4wd buggies to this race. I currently have an electric hpi rs4 mt that I use to bash because its 4wd and quiet. I have a mod motor. Should I bring it tommorow and see how it does on the track, and if it is ok, will I be able to race with you guys?
Thanks,
Robert
