I broke in round 1 in the a main. There should be a big turn out for elec. touring. At round 1 it was a little light only about 38 stocks . stock is the most popular class. Theres alot of people coming from VA. and PA. Ill never miss a ORL race. rcnutzz 06-22-2004, 07:57 PM Do you have a losi or Tc3?, John Tag 06-22-2004, 08:13 PM Ive got a team TC3 and a BMI blue graphite TC3 jdwca 06-22-2004, 09:35 PM Hey, Galo. I'll be going down on Saturday to practice as well as Sunday for the race itself. We'll have the Surge table and all. You (and anyone else from Dirt Runners) are welcome to pit with us/next to us. John Marcotte will be down there with us on Sunday morning. He's going to be hanging out and just helping out the Surge guys with setups, etc. (He didn't pick up his touring car yet.) -jon sean cant drive 06-22-2004, 10:26 PM man i am pissed i tone remember how my cyclone was getting really hot i called novak and i asked them y it was happinging and they said that there might be a problem with itand it could be on its way to dieing it might just be normal. i have had four novaks and they have all run at temperatures that made me worry if they we're gonna become fried in the near future(even when the motor ran cool) on one of the duallys i had the bec went. and my cyclone(you remember) it still works fine but when i switch it off it revs to half throttle. the only solution to the problem (at least that i know) is to run a different esc. eviltone 06-22-2004, 10:58 PM wow.... i worked on a few members of the eviltone fleet today. i got my tc3 runnin w/ a 14x2 and a cyclone c2. too bad it rained before i could get outside to take it for a spin. i also got the Maxx back in a little better running condition. re-did the fuel lines (yes yet again) took off the HEAD to make sure it was down tight and clean. i also adjusted the low speed needle to a little richer setting. i also rotated the fuel line intake on the carb to the opposite side, so that the line is away from the heat of the engine. after i was done with all that, i took the rest of my batts and re soldered the leads so that i can TRAY them (they were Backwards.... didnt fit in my tray) i also realized a cool thing about my tray... it has a .9v per cell cutoff built in.... did not know that! Hey Galo, i'll let you know by thursday if i am gonna go to this race w/ my tc3. it'll give me an excuse to go see the in-laws afterwards. werd..... Now... since i am on this GIANT ramble.... About the Father's Day Race.... It was a very VERY VERY great time! i especially liked the longer races in the gas cars (altho i didnot run a gas car)... made for some interesting happenings... the 7 min long Mini-T race was soooo coool.... too bad my pinion MELTED off in the last 30 seconds!! i wish we could have longer races like that on a regular basis, but unfortunately, i realize that we are fighting the time constraints of daylight! too bad we couldnt get some of them dual light stands (those bright joints) and hook them up to a generator for some night racing.... as for the one qualifier then a main.... i dunno how "fair" that is. its a cool idea, but it would eliminate someone form an a-main if their car breaks, or if someone has one bad run. i guess we'll have to discuss it further! -Tone dendad 06-22-2004, 11:07 PM If we had longer qualifying heats you could make up for bad starts or minor mishaps. It also may not effect a slightly late start due to a mechanical problem. wayneny 06-22-2004, 11:08 PM Tone, we would only do the one heat and longer main in Nitro classes. So far we have been having only one heat in those classes anyway so everyone is in the A main. If we do go to that format then the B main would be the same. I really like the idea. But it would have to be majority rules. We shall see...................WAYNE wayneny 06-22-2004, 11:12 PM Dennis, to keep it fair to everyone it would have to be one 4 min. qualifier and then an 8 min. main. Or else the electric classes are going to say that it isn't fair that the nitro classes race more.We can talk about it at the next race.............WAYNE USPatriot 06-22-2004, 11:16 PM No..... i just didnt like the paint scheme....... -Tone what scheme? the one i posted? Gary NJ 06-22-2004, 11:37 PM as for the one qualifier then a main.... i dunno how "fair" that is. its a cool idea, but it would eliminate someone form an a-main if their car breaks, or if someone has one bad run. i guess we'll have to discuss it further! -Tone Well, there is certainly some validity to what you say, Tone. One comment is that we only have 4 classes this year that seem to consistently have enough entries to have A and B mains each week: electric mod buggy, electric mod truck, 1/10th gas offroad, and TMaxx offroad. For all the other classes qualifying is moot anyway - everyone goes to the A. When I spoke briefly about longer mains to Wayne and Charlie after the races Sunday, we were mostly talking about lengthening the mains and eliminating one qualifier. The idea was to give everyone the same track time they get now, just "redistribute" it for the nitro classes. In other words, maybe the second round of qualifiers would only be for the electric classes. Another thought, which I'm sure will make Wayne cringe, is to run one round of qualifying for everyone, and let the top 1 or 2 in any class that has a B main bump up to the A. We always run the B's as the first mains anyway, and if we made the A's for the 4 classes where we have As and Bs as the last A mains, there would be plenty of time for the electric B winners to change or repeak batteries for the A (and of course it is no problem for the nitro guys to bump up. Typically at the big nitro races, bump ups are used and it is not unheard of for a driver to bump up main after main, with only a few minutes between each race). As far as frequency conflicts, if you're bumping up it is on you to get to the computer and make sure you don't have a frequency conflict, and that you know what transponder you'll have in the A. This isn't rocket science, the AutoScore program we use accomodates bump ups, and they are commonly used in RC racing. At first the IFMAR starts for qualifying seemed strange, but now I think everyone agrees qualifying is much cleaner, and the closeness of the results, especially in electric buggy and truck show it. I guess my point is have 2 1/2 to 3 hour rounds of somewhat meaningless qualifying, just to give people a starting spot in a short main, doesn't seem to be as much fun as getting qualifying over quickly, and giving people a lot more time to race in the main -- which is what you're here for anyway. I hope others chime in and post opinions and ideas, because it seemed to me everyone was pretty stoked about the longer mains on Sunday. Huge props to Wayne and Charlie to be willing to try new ideas - not just in the racing formats like the longer mains last week, but in stuff like the Father's Day food and Fathers Racing Free - to bring new energy to our club. To me, the enthusiasm about our club, both at the track and on this BB, are tangible. I think it really FEELS like a club now, where we all share a common passion and have fun with it together. Gary out... nicksplaything 06-23-2004, 10:09 AM Happy Birthday Mark!!! :hat: parma24 06-23-2004, 10:11 AM hey mike i might be able to paint your body but i am limited to painting on the weekends only and i also have to paint cory's body also u have to provide the flame masks if that is what you want. mark parma24 06-23-2004, 10:13 AM thank you :hat: Gary NJ 06-23-2004, 10:42 AM Happy Birthday young'un!! Unfortunately, we don't have the results from the Fathers Day race available for the website. Because we set the computer up last Sunday as one round of heats, the program didn't give us the option to save the results to an HTML file like it does with the results from the mains -- sorry!
