Im looking at a new stronger quicker steering servo for Tmaxx and suggestions?
I'm using some Blue high Torque servo in my tmaxx, I can't remember who makes it, and it’s an off brand.

I know Futaba makes a nice metal gear/ball bearing high torque servo for about $50, I have one in my TC3, and it works really well. I got it at Zeppelin and they should have more.

If you want quick and high torque it’s going to be expensive, probably on the order of $120....are you looking for digital?

o man i did it now, i got the mf2, and i know i said i wasnt going to build it anytime soon, but i lied, it is in my room all together, now i just have to figure out my radio problems

Hallster, how was it, i got some news for you, you know the anti fade, yeah it came loose, i sorta tightened it, but i am not worried for now since i am not going to be riding it for a while, until it is completly fixed, so take you time, i mean take your time with the caliper, i dont think that i will be runing the thing till july, funds pending,

Kevin and I have had good luck with Hitec servos on our Maxxes and NTs. Kevin has a HS-5645 on his Maxx, I have a 5925 on mine. Both are digital and metal gear. The 5645 is about $55 - $60, the 5925 is $85 -$90. If you use digitals, use them on the steering only, and make sure your endpoints are adjusted correctly. Digitals cannot "push" against something immovable, for instance if your steering blocks are hitting the steering carrier, or the servo will burn out. Some people complain about Hitec reliablity, but on the other hand they do come with a 2 year warranty and they are very good on warranty service.

I'll add my $.02 and agree with Nick. I have the same servo in my T4 and it really works nicely for $50. Like Nick said, you'll have to spend a *whole lot* more for a digital with a quicker transit speed.

Whatever you get, make sure you know the torque rating before you buy. Hi-torque on an electric or gas 1/10th truck is not the same as hi-torque on a TMaxx with big tires. 80 in/ozs will be very snappy on a 1/10th, but you want to have at least 120-130 in/ozs with a Maxx, IMO.

I believe the Futaba Servo is 120 something oz-in of torque.

That's manly enuff for TMaxx... ;)

OBTW Nick, we don't have softcopy results from yesterday. We couldn't figure out how to get Autoscore to save the heat results to a file, like we do with the mains. Since we only did one round of racing yesterday, we were setup as heats, not mains. The best we could have done was to printout hardcopies, and then try and scan them into a PC and try and use OCR to "read" them and convert that into HTML...WAAAAY too much work.

Zeppelin hobby sells a hobbico metal gear servo for $70. At 6v it has 120in/oz. of torque.I've had one for three years with no problems and just bought a second so the price should be about right.

To the whole gang, I thought yesterday was a lot of fun. It's nice to do something different once in a while. From the turnout I would say that everyone feels the same. For anyone that could'nt make it I am sorry. We had 116 entries to run one round and have some food. That was fantastic. It shocked me that we had that many entries but it just goes to show that sometimes racers like to have a little fun. That is what Dirtrunners is all about. I check around on the web at other tracks and unless it is some big event most tracks are gettingabout 40 entries. So I say thanks to all our loyal gang. I hope you all are having as much fun as I am.................WAYNE

well, the thing is i know that mark can mask nicely, and paint flames great, i want to have silver flames coming from the front to the doors, and then the body being dark red, and black and white checkers in the rear left corner, i dont know if you can do something like that, not doubting your skills at all

Sorry Tone, missed your post earlier!

I need to see, its been difficult taking time off of work, keep getting new deadlines, and its tough to take a day off during the week, heck, its been hard taking weekends off!

Hopefully in the near future (July/August) this won't be an issue anymore:thumbsup:

we had a good time, they lengthened the mains so we got some good racing in considering we didn't have any heats. the gas mains were crazy. they ran for a full ten minutes.
