rgross98 06-18-2004, 10:25 PM Hello Guys...
I was wondering what time the race starts on sunday and when they end. I am trying to coordinate my family visits.
I also have a question regarding battery charging:
I am currently running a T-maxx, RC10GT, and soon to be Ofna 9.5. I used to use the standard disposable four AA batteries. I recently upgraded and I have 2 1100mah and 1 1400mah 5 cell receiver batteries. I only have one overnight wall charger and Now I have three batteries. It takes three nights to charge all the packs for a only one day of running. I have bought a coupler to be able to use my Novak millennium charger to charge the packs.
My question is how would I set the charge settings to quick charge the
packs. I would appreciate the rate for both types of packs, quick charge
rate (~20 minutes), medium charge rate (~2hours), Long charge rate
(~8hours) , and the equation you used to be able to make your calculations.
Thank you for your help and input :)

Well... i do not know the Millenium Pro.... but you should charge them at:
for the 1100's - for regular charging, do it a 1/2 the pack capacity (ie: .55 amp) - for quicker charging: there is no safe way to charge them any qucker than 1 amp... @ 1 amp, it should take 1.1hours.. the safest way to make sure they dont die on you, is to "peak" them after a few runs, and if you dont use it for a while, remove the battery from the switch (that prevents negative wire rot) and charge it before you run it (maybe the night before).
for the 1400's - same deal goes... the max amperage is 1 amp, therefore it would take 1.4 hours if the battery were completely drained. for standard charging.... .7amp (POINT SEVEN) is the deal....
just remember to keep it charged... thats all...
hope this helps....

wayneny 06-19-2004, 01:20 AM Dennis, I should be able to move the classes around. Just check with me sunday AM to be sure I did'nt forget.
Rob, we are starting at 12:00 this sunday. Then from here on out it will be 11:00. I hope Tone got you going on charging your rec. packs. Basically stick with 3/4 or 1 amp and you will be fine.
Tone, I will bring the genny with me so the rest of your crew does'nt go off the deep end. Only some people have to leave early. Everyone else can stay as long as they like. This might be a good day to mess with your TMAXX if you want to bring it along.
Hope that answers all the questions, if not post them and I will try to accomodate as many as I can.........WAYNE

Thanks a bunch, Wayne! nice thought on the Tmaxx, but i gotta go to see Pops afterwards, they're expecting me by 4 or so.... i think i nailed the problem w/ it tho... the low speed needle is too lean, i think.... gonna open it up about 1/8th of a turn! the acceleration has been crap, so i think that that is the problem, the fact that i put on a better breathing air filter and a better breathing pipe made the factory setting too lean...
You and Chris better be ready w/ your mini-t's..... i just re-re-did mine... installed the sway bar and everything. tranny is as good as new! i had 3 blown bearings in the tranny.... and 1 too many shims on the top shaft (i shimmed it to keep it from being sloppy, and i over-did it). the only thing i need to decide on is what motor to run..... i cleaned both my Beast and my Raider and made them like-new again.... i had to do some "special dremeling" to my front bumper so that it wouldnt interfere with the front arms - they were locking in-place because it was not correctly manufactured.... i think the next thing i gotta do is rebuild them shox... i wonder where my shock oil is....
i cant believe it is 3:15 in the morning!!! i gotta go to bed.....

dendad 06-19-2004, 07:27 AM Thanks Wayne . Anyone going to the track today I'll be there around 9:00 this morning.
