No, I am not on a job. But I have been putting in applications everyplace that has an ad in the paper. I pee'ed in cups more in the last couple of days than I have in my whole life. No place will hire a driver unless they screen you for drugs. I guess it is standard procedure now.Hope to find something soon. Later, WAYNE

I spoke to Ron at Cruzin R/C. He is going to set up a booth at Dirtrunners on race days. If there is something that anybody needs call him ahead of time and they will make sure they bring it. Hopefully that will work out good for us and for him.His number is 201-825-4884, talk to Ron and let him know what you need him to bring. See you guys at the track on saturday. WAYNE

Just got off the phone with Ron again and also told me that people will be able to pay by credit card at the track. It will get phoned in to the store. I also will post a cell number as soon as I get it where you can leave a message about stuff you need. I hope this helps people out on race day.I also heard through the grapevine that there is a chance that Barnstormers is going to close for the summer and open up again in the fall. I really hate to see that happen. Lou is a really nice guy. He is the owner of Barnstormers. Hope all works out and they start getting more people to race. WAYNE

Ok Wayne, i really dnt wanna get back on this subject, but, here goes. I went to BS twice, met Lou and he seemed very polite and friendly. First time was a blast, then it all went south. It seems that the clientel that he has attracted and promoted, are not as nice and polite as Lou is. No matter how nice of a guy he is, if he allows stuff to happen in HIS business, he is always gonna drive away potential "New CUstomers(Racers)" I went there twice, and that was enough for me. If i wanted people to sit there and yell,"You SUCK" at me in front of a raceway full of racers, im sure i can ask one of the guys i pit with to do it at Dirtrunners, i dont need to drive 2hrs, and spend my hardearned money to deal with that kinda crap. And to have the owner sit there and ignore it was even worse.

If he closes down, sorry, but maybe he should look for ways to attract new racers, and not force them away......

Oh yeah, just to clarify a little more.... there was an explicative i left out of the,"You Suck"....

satrnfreak
05-27-2004, 09:29 PM
No Erik, it was directed at me. After the incedent in the first heat of Buggy, every time i raced, the guy stood in the corner of the track and YELLED it at me. And Lou did nothing to curtail it, actually looked like he thought it was kinda funny. Really doesn't matter anyway, cause it is over with, and im not gonna race there again....

I know some people had bad experiences there, but just keep this in mind, if racers do not support theie local tracks, then there will be no more local tracks....

Hi everyone. I would just like to clear up a few things regarding Barnstormers:

1st- I just spoke to Lou and he is not closing for the summer - business is great - he's been there 13 years and he's not going anywhere.

2nd- As far as this incident that you keep mentioning about " You Suck" - Lou and Herman spoke to the guy and told him that it would not be tolerated and if he did not like it then he could leave. It was not brought to Lou's attention until that following Friday. He knew nothing about it that day. I have been racing for many years at the barn and have never seen a problem like this before. Please don't generalize everyone for being "this way" because we are not. We enjoyed having you at the barn and would like to see you again. We are all in this hobby for the same thing -FUN!! If you cannot have fun while racing then find another hobby.

Enough said - When is your next race day? Do you race 1/8 buggies and Monster Trucks and or Truggies? We would like to come down and race with you guys.

We look forward to seeing you guys soon. Have a great night!!

I've always had a good time at Barnstormers. If you weren't part of the 1/8th buggy scene, I would call them rather indifferent to you, but we were always treated respectfully...and the folks who raced our classes, and pitted near us, were always nice. Samantha O, in particular, always went out of her way to make Kevin feel special, which I appreciated.

On the other hand, in 35 years of racing slot cars, karts and RC at dozens of tracks all over the US, I never once had a problem at a track, either...so I didn't expect anything different at Barnstormers.

Good to hear they'll still be running.

We do race 1/8th buggies, Monster trucks (oval with small block motor restriction, off road with small block motor restriction, and open monster truck on the off road - truggies).

We'd love to see you at the track, whats your name anyway, stranger?

Hope to see you next race.

Great news about Lou and the Barn - thanks for sharing it!!

Next race is Sunday June 6th, and it is a trophy race. If we get four 1/8th buggies or UL MTs, we run 'em. We had a class of each last Sunday, with a bunch of the Critter guys showing up, plus a few of our regulars who now bought buggies. We opened the track up a little this year and while it's not Barn-sized, it is very raceable now for the fast stuff.

Since we only race every 2nd week at DR, we certainly plan to hit the Barn, as well as LI Raceway this summer.

It's all good. Hope to see ya.

The times I raced at the Barn I also had a great time and enjoyed myself. I did'nt have a problem with any of the other racers. But, as Gary said if you were'nt running 1/8 scale then you were just part of the scenery. But I think that happens no matter where you go. Dirtrunners seems to be the only track that runs just about every class of cars or trucks in the same day. I was just passing along what I had heard about the Barn taking a hiatus till after the summer. Like I posted earlier I hope that does'nt happen. As far as our next race it is on June 6th. It is a trophy race also. So far we've only had one race where there were 1/8 scales and unlimited monster trucks. We would like to have them at every race but so far the only ones who showed up were the gang from Crispy Critters. Our biggest Nitro classes are 1/10gas offroad, Small block Maxx offroad and 1/10gas on the oval. You can get our whole schedule and list of classes off our website Dirtrunners.com. Hope to see you soon,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,WAYNE

wow.. finally someone to represent... yuo guys are ALLL welcome to come down... thats great news to hear about Lou...
as for that ONE guy ruining our time up there.. it happened, and it has rubbed a few of us the wrong way.. but, it is only ONE guy.. and i for one have gotten over it...
as for havin fun, satrnfreak, who was really upet about it, ALWAYS has fun.. it was a total downer that day, we all were a virtual punching bag for that guy that day... he was the only regular in our heat, and he wasnt happy about being w/ us, because we werent as "seasoned" at the track, so we werent as "clean" but to tell us that we're a bunch of Sh*tty novices, and that we F*ckin suck... GRRRRRR
its ok tho... as i said, its just one guy... and i hope that there is no hard feelings, altho, i know a few of us wont be back...
whatever... i am rambling...
i hope to see you guys soon... new competition is ALWAYS welcome!
