shawnleary 05-21-2004, 11:04 AM ne1 make it out to the track last night? shawnleary 05-22-2004, 12:51 PM good fun last night, my car sucked a$$ and I probably should have pulled it in the Main, hopefully didn't screw too many up. Will bring some better game next week. Congrats to the Bear and Butts for throwing down 35 laps last night. Padano was also FLYIN! Gonna be a good series. A B-Main win isn't sounded too bad for me right now ;) ;) irvan36mm 05-22-2004, 10:36 PM Yeah,it was an alright night for me. Started 7th in the 19t mains-finished 7th. My prized Keyence is starting to act up,so I had to put in a backup speedo: a Duratrax Streak (not the "John Pilgrim" model!). So I really can't trash talk the Streak anymore! lol -George David Butts 05-23-2004, 09:04 AM Yessiree Bob! Friday night although light on the turnout due to several reasons was not short on the fun factor. We did have nine 19t entries. As Shawn said earlier 19t looks to be a fun class to wear tires out in. Just for grins I made the decision to only run my B&T blister packs that all had been won in the(thx to hw we have a raffle every friday night)raffle. All the packs I ran friday night were indeed won previously in the raffle so once again there has been a what amounts to a $1 battery used to run a mediocre 35 lapper. One of those $1 packs set TQ too. Hmm? The entire night I used four dollars worth of batteries. I honestly dont believe that my old C2's(I only own two 19t motors)and these raffle batteries are going to compete when the rest of the big guns are in town but its nice to see that as far as local racing goes theres nothing at all wrong with batteries that have 20 amp numbers on them. When I do start getting some newer 19t motors I may still run these batteries cause they all had tons-o-life left in them at the four minute mark. But then again.???? David Butts 05-23-2004, 09:24 AM Good racing in stock friday night. Only had 4 cars but hey thats still makes a class. As I had predicted(listen closely and you'll hear me patting myself on the back) Michael Short pretty much had the other three guys covered all night. Tom Marlowe made a return to stock and ran smooth as always. Steve Short is getting better every week and Chris Garland made his return to oval racing too. I think that some people believe that getting a stock(or any class for that matter)car around that big of a track would just be too simple. Hmmm? go straight turn left and then repeat about 30 times or so. But that is a great misconception. In 19t the motor has enough torque to pull a grossly over geared car around the track at a good clip but the stock motors of today are almost as finicky gear wise as the modifieds of years passed. Miss the gear or rollout by one tooth on the high side and you're a slug. With a little coaching this new crop of stock racers are catching on really quick too. I'm glad to see that the class has a strong enough following now to stay on the schedule. Hw now has the stepping stone approach to moving up to faster classes that was missing before stock came back. With the names I know that have expressed interest in running in this class since the last series there should be about 9 or 10 cars weekly. katf1sh 05-23-2004, 02:24 PM shawn as of right now it will be ronny and I coming up..mr. boylan was thinking about coming over with a couple of the tampa boyz to have some fun??? now that would be awesome! if i was taking bets..i would expect it to rain all day friday..it hasn't rained in 3 years in florida but if i decide to come up dave will make it rain! he he oh and here is something for you guys to be proud of.. henrys son JP has now won the speedway spectacular race this year and he now has another trophy to add to his collection..JP took home the win at race rock as well! i think the only other person who can boast a record that good is mike boylan taking home the win in both 19 turn classes this year..i think JP has come a long long way in a little over a year since i met him..i am proud of JP and it makes my day to see him do well. i like to see the father and son combos out at the track working together for a common goal. congrats JP looks like dad is going to have to build a bigger trophy case asap...lol David Butts 05-23-2004, 02:42 PM A big congatulations to J.P. Snyder. I saw he won his class at the race rock race while looking at the results last night. Like Katf1sh says, he's done real good for his self winning the speedway spectacular in his class and now this one. I've run with him in stock at hw on one of our sunday races and he's a good racer. He'll actually talk with and work with you on the stand and there some people that have been racing a much longer time than he that cant do that. Hank80 05-23-2004, 05:25 PM Katf1sh, and David, First JP and I would like to say thank you for the words of congrats. Katf1sh, just to let everbody know you where the one who took some of your time and worked over JP's car and got to the point where he could drive it to the win. And yes JP did mention about getting a trophy case for his hardware he is starting to collect! For the people who missed Race Rock, you should of been there. Plain and simple! Henry David Butts 05-23-2004, 05:33 PM Hmm? Weather for this friday as of this point is not looking real good. Lets all keep our collective fingers and toes crossed and maybe the anticipated thunder showers will miss us. It looks as if some oval racers may be practicing thursday night. That may be the only running this week:cry: Shumacher 99 05-23-2004, 07:43 PM Talk about a shock!!! Had some oval experience behind me going in to the races Fri. and was feeling pretty confident in running 31 laps with only having the car on the track for one practice session before hand. WELL! that didn't happen. 30 4:04 was all I could muster out of the old L3. First time racing Oval at HW I'm told I should be happy with that but I feel like I should of had my hazzard lights on I was so slow. Car was capable of turning 31 laps but I was just missing the turn 3 on a regular bassis. Butts is right, Stock is all about being smooth just need to work on that I guess...lol I'll be ready for the series upcoming if your not running 31 laps by then ........You'll be like me (in trouble) yikes :drunk: irvan36mm 05-23-2004, 10:43 PM CONGRATS JP ON YOUR VICTORIES!!!! Rain on Friday??? this is what I got from Weather.com: May 28</FONT>http://image.weather.com/web/common/please_use_our_XML_feed_instead_of_scraping_this_p age/31/30.gifPartly Cloudy92°/69° -George DEEPBLUE 05-24-2004, 12:07 AM Good job JP. keep up the good racing, look foward to seeing you and your dad at HW soon. John shawnleary 05-24-2004, 09:12 AM Friday's forcast is looking perfect. High of 94, track is gonna be warm. Do I hear a C-main for 19t? We had 9 guys on a deader than dead night this past Friday. Good to see a couple guys from our southern neighbors are making the trip up here. Phil and Jerry, are you guys runnin???? parrott88 05-24-2004, 09:51 AM Going to the southern 500 , starts fri morning. So maybe next time. DEO RACING 05-24-2004, 01:14 PM Oh yes I will be there, wouldnt miss this for the world!!!!!!!!! Phillip Shumacher 99 05-24-2004, 02:39 PM It won't rain. I'll make sure it stays dry. My yard needs rain, just not on Fri. shawnleary 05-24-2004, 03:48 PM Owen vs. Katfish, battle of the Mavericks! This coming Friday night at the one and only Raceway @ HOBBY WORLD. In the home corner, the track favorite and former 19t track record holder, Phil Owen driving his 04 Maverick. And in the other corner, the "jax rug master" and Maverick pilot as well, Katfish. The two haven't battled in jax since last year on the rug. Katfish has got the outdoor experience in recent months and proved it down in O-town last weekend with a big A-Main win. Can he bring it up here and silence the "local" favorite? We may have to charge admission for this one. Any predictions? xpss 05-24-2004, 04:06 PM yea they take each other out in turn 3 hehheheheheheehe then pedano wins katf1sh 05-24-2004, 04:31 PM ouch my tongue! Shumacher 99 05-24-2004, 05:13 PM I'll take Bear with the upset!!! davepull 05-24-2004, 05:47 PM Hey Gay Focker you got e mail. I just got back from the hobby shop picked up there last pair of purples. I can't wait to put the box stock L4 out on the track in 19t. plus I am looking forward to doing some fishing. it will be fun to race with the daytona crowd. David Butts 05-24-2004, 06:09 PM I'm skeered shizzleless. I think I'll run stock friday night instead. Cant exactly watch the big boys battle it out while you're on the track with'em now can ya? I dont know where AOL gets their weather from but I swear yesterday they were forecasting scattered thundershowers on friday night. I predict the 19t record falls friday night if it doesnt rain. I also predict it wont be me breaking it. I predict on one of those two I'm right. This could indeed turn out to be the biggest smalltime oval race in north Fl. history. Somebody else may be there too. Hmmmmmmm? Secret racers? Actually after all the crashing and banging maybe a backmarker(me)could pull out the win. Maybe I will run 19t afterall. Now I just need to make the "A" main. A high 35 lapper may not do it and that would deffinately be a first at hw. Could it be a race rock(tm) rematch on a big track? Somebody may clear the chainlink. davepull 05-24-2004, 06:12 PM I t can't be that big the track record holder will be a no show!!!!!! I can say one thing 34 laps spells b main. parrott88 05-24-2004, 06:16 PM I changed my mind I'll be there...... David Butts 05-24-2004, 06:17 PM Smack trash, Trash smack, Smack smack, Trash trash. Let the verbal beatings begin. Wooooo Hooooo!(sorry Katf1sh I stole your line) I love this stuff as long as it's all in good fun. David Butts 05-24-2004, 06:21 PM I wonder who the guest is who keeps coming on here. Come on fella log in and show us who you are. Look down at the screen names who are looking at this site. There's almost always a guest when the stuff gets good. katf1sh 05-24-2004, 06:41 PM david b track records rarely fall when the field gets tight like that. i'm going up to have fun and see some of the guys i have raced with on carpet..it's been months since i went to j ville..i dont expect a clean race or qualifier, lol. ronny has been running awesome latelt as well..last 2 months at strickland home boy has taken a 1st and a second! question???i do not own any c2 sinkers...are we allowed to run the snowbird motors? or is that a seperate class? what t ime do the gates open? what time does racing start? and what is the name of the street hobby world is located on? thanks in advance..oh and dave P you dont have the "pull" to reel in this "f1sh" ha hah ah ahahah davepull 05-24-2004, 07:00 PM after seeing the results from Race rock i think i do!!!!!!!!! :) you can run any 19t the gates open @ 10 am people start showing up around 5 - 5:30 racing starts is suspose to start @ 8:00 pm the track is located on 103rd st. take 295 north and to the 103rd st exit take a left at the light under 295 and it is a 1/4 mile on the right. the 103rd exit is one exit after the exit you used to take to get to the carpet track. davepull 05-24-2004, 07:02 PM oh yah Jerry Parrott is has the track record with the ONLY 36 LAP RUN RCThunder 05-24-2004, 07:21 PM Hey guys... couple ?? David Butts 05-24-2004, 08:01 PM In all seriousness. The C2 style motors up until last week were all that were supposed to be run in the points series races or any races run at HW but the racers voted to open it up to basically any 19t motor that meets roar/arcor rules so bring on those ultrabirds. We aint skeered of no epoxy. The next series starts next week so any 19t motor can be run and this friday night will be a great warmup event. There is some pit space(uncovered) along the back wall of the store that has electric but to be really comfy bring your tables and chairs and extension cords and enjoy yourselves. If anyone is bringing a trailer the third or fourth turn area is perfect for them but bring an generator as theres no electric on that end of the track. HW is a big track so bring all your gears and tires. Entry fee is $15 for two qualifiers and a main and a current roar card is required by the owners. There is really only one bump to worry about and it's clearly marked in the 3rd turn. Run the correct line and you have no problem. Miss the line and the bump will just upset the car a little. It's not that bad but it's there. Stay off the yellow outside line unless you are going totally straight. Right guys? David Butts 05-24-2004, 08:03 PM Howdy Mr. Parrott. Felling better? good to hear it. parrott88 05-24-2004, 08:11 PM And a howdy back atcha Butts...... SEEYA FRIDAY Shumacher 99 05-24-2004, 08:26 PM In all seriousness.
