Echeconnee 12-29-2004, 10:20 PM Need a little help guys, when running 19t with a D5 motor @ 36deg and the tires are cut down to 2.2" about what gear ratio should I be running in JAX? Here we run caps and they are around 2.48" and we run in the neighborhood of 2.6:1 Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also what is the runline and track record in 19t? Has anyone tried the short track taurus down there yet? Is 3 pinks and a purple right front a good place to start on tires? Donnie_99 12-29-2004, 10:51 PM track record is 36 4 flat i know that much irvan36mm 12-29-2004, 11:31 PM stone 2 things don't add up George and hot chicks!!!!!!!!! P- LOL! I'll have to show you some old band pics sometime, when I can dig them up again!! lol Stoney & Pilgrim-I'll have to check on the Sat deal. (I would think they would be open??) Echeconnee- Last time I or anybody's checked, the HW runline is approx 360-366' (somebody please correct if I'm wrong or heard anything different). 3 Pinks w/Purple RF is what I think the majority is running. I've ran 4 Pinks in my Pro-Spec car & tire wear or handling couldn't be much better. I do know that one of the guys is running a 100/43-45,and he's currently in the lead in our points thing. Dave P posted his 36-lap setup for his L4 awhile back-I'll see if I could dig it up. irvan36mm 12-30-2004, 12:04 AM this is my set up that was good for a 36 4:01.1 front end parts Irs king pins wolfe 1/8 axels no shims on the inside hyperdrive 5 hole castor blocks custom adjustable brace LF Spring red std wolfe camber +1 o deg castor castor blocks in 3rd hole shims I run 1 silver on top of the steering block shims on top of upper a arm 3 silver and one black so that the nut is at the top of the nylock RF spring std green wolfe camber 1.5 2 deg castor shims 1 silver on top of block top shims 4 silver tray I run the silva x factor tray extender in the 6 hole from the front with the 4 cell tray hyperdrive shock mount with the bottom hole cut off to clear the t plate with the shock in the 3rd hole from the top center shock is an assoc hard coated threaded with assoc silver spring thread about half way. 4owt assoc oil side shock stock vcs with irs adjusters gold assoc springs i space the shocks with a white assoc washer on the pod plate. t plate assoc symetrical .075 pod I run it on center so you'll need the shorter diff hub axle spacing 1 gold wolfe washer on the diff side and I space the LR out 1/8 inch from the LF tires I run RC4LESS pink rears pink LF peurple RF cut tires to 2.300 rear and 2.3.00 front. tire sauce I use trinity red dot or corally jack the gripper full rears full LF small stripe in the middle of RF ride height 6 mm front and rear body is HD protofrom monte carlo 1/4 cut off rear spoiler with a Pedano wing monted on the body so that it is just below roof line. electronics futaba S9252 digital servo novak xxl reciever mounted flat behind servo novak GTX mounted in RR coner of chassis. that is my car hope it helps Cliff- Here's Dave P's L4 setup. Hope it helps! -George davepull 12-30-2004, 12:53 AM gear wise I run from a 38-43 depending on tire size. start with a 40/100 with that tire or around a 2.5 ratio. 3 pinks and a purple is what just about all the fast guys are running. as far as the bodies go the Protoform HD monte carlo is the way to go. travymoto1 12-30-2004, 01:59 AM Is it Jan 8th yet? travymoto1 12-30-2004, 02:01 AM edited :D irvan36mm 12-30-2004, 08:38 AM Dave P- Are you mounting BOTH the upper A-arms in the 3rd hole on your HD caster blocks,or just the RF? travymoto1 12-30-2004, 09:40 AM edited :D davepull 12-30-2004, 12:45 PM sorry about that George the LF is in the 3rd hole and the RF is in the 2nd hole from the bottom. travymoto1 12-30-2004, 01:59 PM Does anyone have John Hart's phone #? I want to see if he has anymore Personal Transponders. email it to me if you have it. travymoto1@cs.com Thanks David Butts 12-30-2004, 05:53 PM [QUOTE=Echeconnee]Also what is the runline and track record in 19t? Has anyone tried the short track taurus down there yet? Is 3 pinks and a purple right [QUOTE] Clifford, Allthough the track dimensions have changed a liitle bit in it's almost twenty year existance it used to measure out at 325' around the bottom(when it was dirt it had an actual inside wall) and 410' around the outside for a middle line of 367.5'. No one runs that exact middle line and the pvc is now set in about two feet wider than the old lane width so who knows? Maybe 350' is more like it but when figuring out mph I always use the 367.5' measurement as it makes for a faster mph. I dont know of anyone using the short track Taurus allthough Phil Owen has them but has'nt run Jax in months.? Three pinks and a purple will get you in the ballpark if not hit a homerun. I had to go a little firmer(magenta)on the rear to free up my car. Some guys were experimenting with a purple rr and a pink or magenta lr. With the speeds 19t cars are generating if you try to run anything softer than a purple rf it'll be just about a one run tire. The last time you guys were down here I ran three pinks and a red rf on my L4. As a matter of fact those same tires are still on it and last time I ran it I turned some 6.6's. That aint track record times but it sure aint slow either. Weeeeeeeeeee! The official track record in 19t By Bear Yarbrough is 36 4:00.24 . I was there and seen it wit me own two eyes. stoneman 12-30-2004, 09:22 PM anyone going to the track friday ? vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
