[QUOTE=davepull]hey when your doing this don't forget to trim the body on your stock car so it isn't draging the track.

QUOTE]
Sense i've been running the same body for five weeks and the body didn't start dragging till after the first heat race this week I think i'll look for the cause instead of a quick fix. Thanks for the suggestion Dave.

cause of the problem is that the body is lower than the chassis. when I mount a body i cut it at the trim lines then mount it on the car. sit it on a a level surface and use a fine point sharpe I lay the sharpe down on the flat surface and drawn a line around the body. what that does is it comes out so that the body sits just a tick above the chassis. now if the body hits the track there is a problem maybe a body post.

That how I mount my bodies. The reason the body was dragging was the front sway bar was out of adjustment. My car was rear ended and hit the pipe with the left front wheel in the first race.

I guess I'll be at HW this Saturday running oval....My front diff needs to be replaced...I guess I pushed it to much on that parking lot. I wonder if I can make it a rear wheel drive touring car

I'm so enviuos of you guys with your kick a$$ wives that understand guys need to putz around w/shiznit or we go nuts. My old ball and chain pops a gasket if I so much as look at my cars during the week and forget about a midweek practice night! All the practice and maintenance time I have is befor a race on that day! Which would probably explain why I showed up at 10:00am last Sat and still only ran one pack per car before the quals. So all you with wives and kids and all the trappings and blessings of a family life need to show mucho appreciation to the signifigant other lest you be the victim of Murphy's Law ".....it can always get worse!". BTW, anyone know of a good divorce attorney? I mean ya gotta have priorities right?

I asked a friend if he was going to go race Sat.... He said no he had too go spend x-mas holiday with some family and would not make "NO WAY" .. I said well that's cool you know there is nothing like spending time with family...... He paused a second and said "well it ain't racin!!!!"
LMAO
That man has his priorties in order.....

Dave- Thanks again for posting your setup! Even though you & I are running 2 different cars, there are certain things I was wondering about & that cleared it up. That'll help me get this KGB close to the parking lot of the ball park for 19t next series. The rest will be up to me! lol BTW,I work on my car, batteries, motors from 8-11PM,Wed-Fri (9 hrs).
Bear- You're welcome! Just wished it was done sooner.
Ray- R/C racing is our escape from everyday life. Women today are still trying to figure out why most men spend soo much time in the bathroom. It is to take a break from everyday life, but most women still don't get it.
John- I hope you reconsider your decision,as you'll be missed. Seems like everything's back to "normal" here.

It's been a hectic month & I think everybody's ready for a break in the action. The break is coming after Sat Dec 18,hold on until then!

john and bear: as you know i was suckered into doing a oval series for the state of florida. i thought no big deal..i've run oval for 20 years now and i know everything there is about racing oval, lol. since becoming the race director, president and slave i have learned ALOT! one thing i learned is i can't race and be a director! so 2005 focar series those 6 races i can't race or should i say i wont race. this will make life easy on me and i will have more time to listen to concerns of the racers. good for them sucks to be me! lol

with that being said: i know even on the local sunday race it stinks to run the show. you spend more time farting with the computer and Q & A than you do wrenching on your cars. i love kenny holmes and chuck mann on race day because they realy do a good job of moving the program on. john just bought the very latest scoring system and bear had just taken on the job of race director...things were looking up for HW.....

i'm not sure what it will take to keep things running smoothly and you both getting a chance to race weekly? i do have a suggestion though....you may have to start treating HW as a club...get the core group of racers to attend a meeting every once in awhile and get them involved with the track. i understand the real track owners pretend the track doesn't exsist, well until it's time to pay up.every week the track needs to be blown off and swept. the entries must be taken in and someone has to set up the scoring system. i wonder if you guys could set up a schedule where 3 guys each week handle the basics? maybe have guys rotate weeks? mike bean is very lucky because curt does the announcing at strickland for him. lord knows i appreciate a good announcer! they make the racing fun and keep it moving along..realy i think that is what HW lacks...a full time announcer who doesn't race..he takes home 2.00 per entry? know of someone who could handle that? anyways i love HW and want to keep it moving forward.....too bad todd malone isn't around..he was a good announcer.... peace

Oh my god! I havent been on the computer in several days and there's now 10 + pages of stuff some good mostly bad. I, Like most of you guys enjoy playing with my little car or cars as the case may be but it does get a little touchy and much too serious on occasion. I too would like to win every race I enter but I actually enjoy more beating my personal best lap times or counts.

Optimally there would be ten drivers with ten equally optioned and equipped cars and every one of them with equal driving abilities racing for the entire four minutes hitting their marks perfectly and then all of them sprinting for the finish line after the "finish the lap you're on" signal has been called only to have them all cross the line at exactly the same instant with the computer giving out one long beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep as it tries to figure out which transponder crossed the line first.

You know what? Thats dream land! In the real world there are different drivers with different abilities and different reasons to be racing. I dont want to see anyone quit racing because of something that was said on here or to their faces because when it's all said and done. Nothing that happens at an r/c track will ever change the world. Period! It's all suppose to be fun guy's thats it. We dont win money, We dont win merchandise, Hell we dont even win trophies or ribbons anymore, So whats the big deal? Lets just race and enjoy it.

If you dont like someone, I have an idea, Stay away from that someone. If you have a hard time passing a car on the track, Relax and pick a spot. I bet the straights are the best and safest spot to pass so do it. There is too much finger pointing and arm chair quarterbacking going on here.

Also I have a little bit of info for ya, You fast guys too, Those $180 speed controllers we all have(except John Pilgrims raffle won streaks), They will drive your car real slow too. Next time your car is spun out or wrecked, Try this, Instead of grabbing all the trigger you can just gently squeeze just a little bit. I'll bet you can get your car straightened out and drive away with much more control, You've already lost that lap and you're not getting it back by spinning right in front of the pack as they come around to lap you again.

Another thing that some of you may have missed is there are racers from other areas that read this thread too. Some of the stuff thats aired out here really makes us look like a bunch of hacks to someone who does'nt know the the real truth. There are some really good guys and racers that run here in Jacksonville, Most of you are, To know how I feel and that should be the signal they're getting, Not that we're a bunch of argumenative rednecks even if we are.

I say we race and strive to offer the best racing we can on the best and largest/fastest track around. If not the one with the most garbage laying around.?

Now everyone turn to the northeast and stare at that gigantic american flag we now have courtesy of whoevers cell tower/flag pole that is and thank god that in this country we can do and say as we please when we please to do it. Saaaaaaalute!
