davepull 12-14-2004, 02:51 PM chris you have a must read PM for your brother dave hurricaneracing 12-14-2004, 03:22 PM hey jermey alot of people missing you at the track$$$$$$$ I have been missing the track myself. Anyone that needs anything can call or mail me and I will get it to you one way or another. I probally will not be back until after new years. davepull 12-14-2004, 03:25 PM well actually Jermey we are really not missing you just katelyns Soda's lol jk rcgen 12-14-2004, 03:53 PM Who is racing this Saturday? I plan on racing but HW or Strickland is racing on road Hmm...decisions decisions Shumacher 99 12-14-2004, 03:54 PM Who is racing this Saturday? I plan on racing but HW or Strickland is racing on road Hmm...decisions decisions Me Val and Dave G will be there davepull 12-14-2004, 03:59 PM 1 1/2 hour drive to sit in the cold or 1/2 hour drive?? I'll be @ HW got a new GTX speedo and Digital servo to check out. WehnerRacer 12-14-2004, 05:47 PM Hurry up NEW YEARS i wanna race....cant wait to be back davepull 12-14-2004, 06:00 PM Travis Call me!!!! Poppa Ray 12-14-2004, 06:15 PM Since I missed the mains last week I'm definitely racing. Even if I have ditch my old lady's, er loving wife's, friggin Xmas party at her snooty boss's house I'm gonna race(read take your time between the quals and mains). rcovalracer 12-14-2004, 06:16 PM Page 158: "the way way i feel about it is (if you cant win in spec or stock that does not mean you should step up to a faster class.)" Ok I never won a race in stock so I am not allowed to run 19T? Please explain this comment...You are the "Race Director" correct? I was just saying in my post, not your quote, that you should just tell them to leave, because some come for one class and you tell them they can not race that class where are they going? To the bleachers? I would guess home... Yes I race to win,but not to break track records  ,just win and have fun. :) Kevin davepull 12-14-2004, 06:31 PM the real reason is because there is a huge lap difference in 19t with guys who arent up to speed.there are some guys who need more time in stock or spec.the way way i feel about it is (if you cant win in spec or stock that does not mean you should step up to a faster class.)some guys want a lap restriction on 19t but i dont think that would work cus then every class would do it. i agree with dave about if your car goes in the corner and spins out then pull it.i watched a guy saturday spin out every lap in the same spot for 5 laps in a row, then he pulls it into the in feild finally but after 1 minute and no adjustments to the car goes back out and guess what it does?????????hmmmmmmmmm spins out some more............ kevin here is the whole post. where do you see Bear saying people cant race in a certain class i read the bold type " the way way i feel about it is (if you cant win in spec or stock that does not mean you should step up to a faster class.)" hey his giving his opinion about when to move up. not telling people they can't race in that class. Bear is not the race director the track currently doesn't have one. rcovalracer 12-14-2004, 06:39 PM OK,it was a hell of a suggestion though !!!! "the way i feel about it is (if you cant win in spec or stock that does not mean you should step up to a faster class.)" irvan36mm 12-14-2004, 06:57 PM Kevin- It was more of a "constructive criticism/opinion",instead of a "direct order-finger pointing"-type statement. In other words,Bear was trying to state that "there are some drivers that probably could benefit by spending more time in a "lower" class (stock, spec, etc) and refine their driving & car tuning skills before tackling a more faster & demanding class, such as 19t." Not "if you can't drive, you can't race". I've mistook the same line also before I re-read between the lines-then it clicked & I knew what he was trying to get at. It is very true, because the speeds and closing rate of these 19t cars are soo much greater than the other classes. One would have be on top of their game as far as chassis setup & driving skills and etiquette to be competitive. The carnage in the 19t mains last Saturday was the biggest I've seen in a long time. I've even stated that "it looked like Drivers Ed out there!" You gotta learn to ride a bicycle before you can ride a Harley! Also, there is presently no "Permanent" Race Director @ HW. John brings his transponders & computer every week and us racers volunteer to run the show. I think everybody would love to see a non-racer run the show,as has been done in the past. This way,all of the B.S. will nearly disappear! I hope this helps clear things up!!! Happy Festivus! :p -George katf1sh 12-14-2004, 07:03 PM WOW!!!!!!!!!! do you knuckle heads understand you have one heck of a race track up there???????? shoot i never knew just how nice hobby world was until i went up with ronny a few months back! hobby world is huge! it is the talledega of r/c and i will always think of it like that. with that being said even the nascar guys get into trouble at dega ..speed kills and when you get 3 guys who have there act together running with 3 guys trying there best to get around your going to have wrecks. if it was a short track and you wrecked no harm no damage..but this monster oval you guys have is another story. but you realy cannot do a damn thing about it... take me for an example: i suck at hobby world and struggle to go 33 laps! sad but true...i'm in the way and feel bad about it..but i'm going to keep on trying and one day i'm gonna hit 34 laps! lol practice at that track is priceless.....i plan on getting my new car and going up one day to make laps..i love the track and the people up there are great as well... A "sorry" goes a long long way.... BUT some of you fast guys "might" want to help out the guys off the pace? at least get them going straight on the straightaways, lol. they may have the wrong tires? wing? body? could be a small problem? now for the guys not up to speed on the monster oval..try a break out class? 34 laps if you go over that you lose..i plan on having a break out class in the focar series for 05 as well as a truck class....mike boylan has had alot of success with his break out program at gt bray.. track records: in order to break a track record you must be lucky and good...they dont come easy and i wouldn't expect to break a track record every run? and when you do get the record you need to thank the guys on the stand. bear breath in breath out bro...without guys like you at hobby world it will turn into a grass field again! i think of hobby world as a club...3 guys do 99% of the work..it wount change..i honestly have a problem working on a track and paying to race on it at the same time.....99% of the time i would look at you funny, lol. but HW is unique and i love to race there so i will do whatever to keep racing at HW . and every track has there share of "hacks" all of them do! please let's not start dragging in other tracks or people into this...WE all race to have fun....it takes alot to look the other way but after witnessing a fight in the pits and hearing about dave and john it makes me wonder who is in this for fun and who needs to win every week to have fun? you guys have a killer track! next time there is a problem leave it at the track! dave i would give my right u know what to have a car like yours at hobby world! merry xmas Echeconnee 12-14-2004, 07:03 PM have any of you guys tried the Novak 5800 brushless system? Donnie_99 12-14-2004, 07:09 PM yall got a super nice track . try and have fun irvan36mm 12-14-2004, 07:17 PM Thanks,Fish-well said! One of the guys has the Novak system & runs it at HW. (No,it's not Bear-although he probably wouldn't mind running one in 19t! lol) -George davepull 12-14-2004, 07:29 PM Katf1sh you bring up a funny thing the fastest cars at HW are the L4's Bears and Mine in particular. the only difference between my car and Bears are pod plates and castor blocks. he runs the long IRS pod plates and castor blocks I run the stock associated and Hyperdrive one. oh yah he has a hpi center shock and silva side shocks mine are stock. and the set up is the same. you know how many of the other 5 or so L4's are running that set up? 1 that #2 stock car (Chris). lol Some of these guys are so set in the ways that even if you do offer set up help they don't listen or they'll ask me a question and I'll tell them how I do it and there reply is well this is the way I do it. well why did you ask!!!! Fockers!!!! lol moral of the story is all help everybody I can. but don't waste my time if you arent going to listen. And Kat to answer you question I would be happier than a pig in shiznit to finish 5th as long as it is a good run 36 laps. I don't mind losing as long as I am running fast. that's alot of fun but if I am slow and losing yah then I am mad. davepull 12-14-2004, 07:33 PM let me add one more thing alot of the guys think that you have to have the best stuff to be fast or spend the most money. well i can name about 5 people who have better stuff and spend more money than me only to go slower. HW is 60 % car 20% driver 10 % motor 10% battery. corner speed is KEY!!!! davepull 12-14-2004, 07:35 PM Kevin- It was more of a "constructive criticism/opinion",instead of a "direct order-finger pointing"-type statement. In other words,Bear was trying to state that "there are some drivers that probably need to spend more time in a "lower" class (stock, spec, etc) and refine their driving & car tuning skills before tackling a more faster & demanding class, such as 19t." Not "if you can't drive, you can't race". I've mistook the same line also before I re-read between the lines-then it clicked & I knew what he was trying to get at. I hope this helps clear things up!!! Happy Festivus! :p -George Great post that is what I wanted to say just couldn't type it. DEI.2 12-14-2004, 07:47 PM Well if everone thinks that the win or t.r. is important to me or guys like the Shorts than you are wrong. I will use the new system for the rest of this series and after that I will see if H.W. will buy my old system so ya'll can still race but I have had enough of this bull shit. Thanks,.................................. John John, I hope you will sit back and reconsider. Don't let others get you down. You among a few others are the foundation of HobbyWorld. I really don't know how this race got blown out of poportion, it happens all the time in other classes! I usually don't win every race i'm in, but I have fun trying. If your really not having fun racing then take a break. I for one will miss your company at the track. You have always gone out of your way to help me and I want to thank you for that. You have been part of racing ever since Mike and I started at cpt and I hope to race with you again. I hope we see at the track soon. I won't be their Sat. because of a Christmas party but hope to see you soon. Shumacher 99 12-14-2004, 07:48 PM I help alota of guy's with advice with there cars. I learned that from Dave P. And Bear. I have only been doing this (Oval) 5 or 6 months yet I get asked alot of questions about set ups and tires .It can't be that I am slow or else why would they ask. Point is I am not in Dave P. or Tom P. or Bears level yet. But I have got this far by learning and listening to those guy's. Dave P. especially has went way beyond the call of duty to help me understand "NO FOCKER" That Won't work try this ...I do and then I'll learn why it worked better. I'll have a better understanding of what works and why by tring these things and learn how certian thing effect a car a certain way.. You won't learn by being stubbern -Chris G. rcgen 12-14-2004, 08:05 PM have any of you guys tried the Novak 5800 brushless system? I think I am qualified to answer this question :p NO but the Novak 4300 in the Nastruck until there was a complaint and one Breakout class in a touring car. Awsome speed and hold on, but not everyone here wants change :jest: Hmm who in HW has a brushless I wonder rcovalracer 12-14-2004, 08:06 PM Great post that is what I wanted to say just couldn't type it. I agree.. Thanks for the post.. Everyone have a merry X-Mas http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmilies.de//xmas/wmann3.gifand Happy And Safe New Year. http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmilies.de//partytime.gif Kevin DEI.2 12-14-2004, 08:18 PM I'll Tell you what, we have the best track around hands down! The last thing we should be doing is bashing our drivers and track on line. If you don't like what happening at the track, let's bring it up for a vote at the track. You are never going to make everybody happy all the time. I think we can all find betters things to talk about on HobbyTalk. In Omaha where my dad races they have a great indoor carpet track, but only 10 people showed up for last oval race. That is all classes of oval, not just one. They only race oval one day a week. This could be us if we don't get our sh&t straight. Lets start working togther before we have nothing to work for! hurricaneracing 12-14-2004, 08:22 PM I think everyone needs to take a break and breath a little. Like Dave P. said alot of things that are read are not typed the way people want to say them. I was not there last week but there have been plenty of bad weeks before. We will all get over it and continue to have fun. As far as George said in 19 Turn the cars are sooo much faster and the reaction time has got to be fast and in order for that to happen the car has to be right, as long as I have been racing I am still tring to get it right. rcgen 12-14-2004, 08:24 PM Thanks,Fish-well said! One of the guys has the Novak system & runs it at HW. (No,it's not Bear-although he probably wouldn't mind running one in 19t! lol) -George I wouldn't mind  Shumacher 99 12-14-2004, 08:26 PM I think everyone needs to take a break and breath a little. Like Dave P. said alot of things that are read are not typed the way people want to say them. I was not there last week but there have been plenty of bad weeks before. As far as George said in 19 Turn the cars are sooo much faster and the reaction time has got to be fast and in order for that to happen the car has to be right, as long as I have been racing I am still tring to get it right. That's because your cars have more stright away speed than anyone elses........Hurricane Racing Motors " It'll be Fast" hurricaneracing 12-14-2004, 08:28 PM I think we need to start drag racing yea thats it........who needs turn speed DEI.2 12-14-2004, 08:30 PM I think we need to start drag racing yea thats it........who needs turn speed How far down 103rd do you think we'll need? rcgen 12-14-2004, 08:32 PM Just the end of 103rd close to Cecil Field LOL rcgen 12-14-2004, 08:33 PM Hey Chris 3 more...I know you can do it DEI.2 12-14-2004, 08:34 PM Just the end of 103rd close to Cecil Field LOL I'm going to have to get bigger gears! hurricaneracing 12-14-2004, 08:49 PM I'm going to have to get bigger gears! gots em;) davepull 12-14-2004, 08:51 PM I was going to say Jermey your car would turn fine if you would just lift at the end of the starightaways to let the front tires hit the ground. lol Steve there isn't much to vote on I think we can all agree that when our car isn't working or shall I say a pile of spinning out pushing ca ca. then it should be pulled of the track. davepull 12-14-2004, 09:00 PM Just a question for the general viewing audience. How many hours a week do you spend working on your car/cars???? Me I have 1 car that I average 8 hours a week working on. DEI.2 12-14-2004, 09:11 PM I was going to say Jermey your car would turn fine if you would just lift at the end of the starightaways to let the front tires hit the ground. lol Steve there isn't much to vote on I think we can all agree that when our car isn't working or shall I say a pile of spinning out pushing ca ca. then it should be pulled of the track. There has been talk of where to start, starting up new classes such as 19 turn sportsman (whatever that would be), brushless systems, ect. ect. ect. DEI.2 12-14-2004, 09:13 PM I spend about 6 hours a week per car. Just ask my wife! davepull 12-14-2004, 09:22 PM sportsman 19T???? you mean start another class. like a few months back it was trucks. I think the track already has enough of the ( I can't win in 19t car so I am going to start another class) classes. and needs to be trimmed down to breakout spec stock and 19t all cars. the starting grid thing has been shot down for some reason it will mess up the points. rcgen 12-14-2004, 09:23 PM Oh we have to work on our cars. :p Darn it I just have to many to keep track plus I wait for my wife to go bed first then work on them hehehehe rcgen 12-14-2004, 09:27 PM Hey Steve you run a losi in touring? davepull 12-14-2004, 09:32 PM I spend about 6 hours a week per car. Just ask my wife! hey when your doing this don't forget to trim the body on your stock car so it isn't draging the track. Oh we have to work on our cars. :p Darn it I just have to many to keep track plus I wait for my wife to go bed first then work on them hehehehe yah that usually helps. it is better to make the setup change at home to try in practice. and it is good to maintain your car not wait till it breaks. lol speaking of wives my is about to go to bed. that means I'll be heading to the garagemahaul with the space heater tonight is motor night!!!!!!!!!!! DEI.2 12-14-2004, 09:36 PM Hey Steve you run a losi in touring? When I run touring I run a losi. rcgen 12-14-2004, 09:36 PM I was joking....can I do that....relax :p I am actually working on my touring car. The wife out shopping for a while rcgen 12-14-2004, 09:42 PM When I run touring I run a losi. Do you run a diff, spool or a one way? Alot of ppl were running one ways at the Super Regionals and was wondering what you had. IRS has an one way but it won't be here by Saturday so I can test it in a race situation. DEI.2 12-14-2004, 09:49 PM Do you run a diff, spool or a one way? Alot of ppl were running one ways at the Super Regionals and was wondering what you had. IRS has an one way but it won't be here by Saturday so I can test it in a race situation. I run a diff. The car runs pretty good. I had a Tc3 that had a oneway and I liked the way it ran but it was a tc3. davepull 12-14-2004, 09:51 PM I was joking....can I do that....relax :p I am actually working on my touring car. The wife out shopping for a while I was joking too should have used those smile faces. xpss 12-14-2004, 10:01 PM glad this thread is getting back to normal.george thanks for clearing up my post. we do have the best track around thats for sure.i cant devote the time it takes to run the races and the time my cars want me to work on them on race night so thats why i wont run the races anymore.im sorry i am a very competive person and i want to win every time i set my cars down.(do they have a aa class for that?) you guys have fun this week and have a merry christmas and ill see ya next year.i gotta go play in the clay with my new 1/8 scale. ps leave my track record in tack!!!!!!!!!or else hehehehehehehehehe DEI.2 12-14-2004, 10:04 PM [QUOTE=davepull]hey when your doing this don't forget to trim the body on your stock car so it isn't draging the track. QUOTE] Sense i've been running the same body for five weeks and the body didn't start dragging till after the first heat race this week I think i'll look for the cause instead of a quick fix. Thanks for the suggestion Dave. rcgen 12-14-2004, 10:11 PM Same body for 5 weeks...tires wear down....chassis gets closer to the ground....body drags...tires wear down....just a thought vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
