Shumacher 99 11-21-2004, 01:52 PM George TQ'ed and won spec with a low 33 lap run his car looked awsome.
Chris G (oooh wait that's me) won stock with a 32 402 but S. Short tq'ed with a 32 405
Pilgram won and tq'ed 19 turn (wreck fest)with a 35 407.
S. Short Tq'ed and won Truck not sure on then time
And not sure in touring but we had a 6 car field....so that was nice to see.
David Butts 11-21-2004, 02:24 PM Thanks Chris, That was short(like you) butt(tm) full of the pertinent information that we all needed. 6 touring cars? Thats good to see them showing up again.
Team Jax didnt fair too bad at Race rock. Bear qualified for and won the B main in 19t which bumped him up to the A main where early trouble put him out.
Tom Pedano finished 2nd in the A main in pro-stock but didnt really have a good day in 19t to put it lightly.
Stephen Pedano ran good and steady all day and finished 2nd I believe in sportsman stock,
I finished 3rd in the C of 19t after putting Phil Owen into the pipe at the start(sorry Phil again, thanks for letting me ride home under the topper of your pick up. It beat walking with all my stuff)
Joe(mama) Malin won the classics class with the #32x Trim Spa Baby car.
Both Snyders, Henry and J.P. raced and had small problems that kept them out of the winners circle in Sedan and I think sportsman stock respectively.
Ernie Bucci made the B main in 19t but didnt fair well and pulled off early.
John maher was also there and some or most of you may not know him but he was a mainstay in the old days at HW and First coast many years ago. I know he ran 12th scale (mini cup as they were called) and I think classics class but I dont know how he fared.
Phil Owen, remember him? I think he's still stuck on that pipe.
You guys that did'nt go missed a duesy(aka doosy, doozy, doosie) and should make a plan to attend one of Mike Boylans thunder events in the future. He and his crew including his wife Julie do a wonderful job.
DEI.2 11-21-2004, 07:50 PM Chris, Friday will be fine. George, thanks for your help Sat., couldn't have done it without ya thanks!
David Butts 11-21-2004, 08:24 PM oops! I left Joe Malin and John Maher out of my race recap so I've made the changes. Joe asked me to team with him and John in the Thunder 100 as in 100 laps and we had it won. Well the three of us did butt(tm) the batteries had other plans. I dont think any team pulled off an as quick as ours pit stop. That was a seriously fun race and we should try it here sometime. Fun, Thats what racing should be all about. The classics also looked really good going around the track aswell as the indy cars. Theres a whole bunch of fun to be had in this hobby and I think some people desire to win every race or set every record diminishes that to some degree. Me? I want to rule the world Mwah hah hah hah ha ha. Oh thats Katf1shes line. Oh well, Toodles:thumbsup:
Shumacher 99 11-21-2004, 09:11 PM Sounds like you guy's had fun.....we sure missed you here welcome back. I am going back to Stock for awhile so Butts you'll have to wiat and beat me some other day. Most of you 19 turn guys are great to race with but I am having more fun racing the slow poke class. Me and Steve Short always have good battles and someone has to try and catch that Tom Pedano guy in stock. So after two 2nd place finishes in a row and sitting 2nd in points in 19 turn............................ I'M OUT!!!!!
Poppa Ray 11-21-2004, 09:58 PM Schumacher99-"I am going back to Stock for awhile "

Huh....Did I miss something?
irvan36mm 11-21-2004, 11:54 PM Chris- Thanks for the pics! I'll see what I could do to them so they'll look a bit better. Also,James Chance emailed me 2 pics of Nitro action. One of the pics is a nitro car flipping over. I'll put those up tomorrow from work,as James' digital camera is,if you've ever seen it,is THE MAC-DADDY of them all! And the files are soo large,I need a faster connection than dial-up to download. Makes all of the other cameras look like Fisher-Price/Integy/Setico (remember "Pic-N-Save"?)! lol

Shumacher 99 11-22-2004, 08:15 AM Your welcome George... Oh and You got Steve Short winning 4-cell stock on the web site.It was me 1 Steve 2 Ray 3 Val 4 Roy 5. Steve did TQ though. But his luck ran out in the main hahahahahahahhahahahahahhaahhahahaha
Shumacher 99 11-22-2004, 08:20 AM George I am going to mess with the saving part of the camera . They are crystal clear at wallpaper size but when I shrink them they just get blurry. I should have it fixed by next week.
Shumacher 99 11-22-2004, 08:23 AM Huh....Did I miss something?

Oh I some how lost control and spun out (rear end got away) hit the wall with Steve and Tom on my tail. I couldn't make up for his lead and took second. :p
Shumacher 99 11-22-2004, 12:36 PM Ok I am confused how do some of the guy's who tqed and won the main have 101 points and some have 102 points ??????????????????? I finished 2nd last week with 99 points with Bear tq and winning he had 101 which is the 2 point gap. This week I finished 2 nd with pilgram tqing and winning he ended up with 102 to my 98... that's 4 points is something messed up or is it me...( Shut up Bear).not sure anyone else noticed or this may have been brought up already and I wasn't paying attention. I am out of the 19 turn series so I don't care but wanted to point it out.
irvan36mm 11-22-2004, 02:02 PM Chris- Yeah,I've noticed it too when I was looking at the points. I think it had something to do with the series setup. If anybody noticed, the points results from week #1 had "5-out-of-8 races" listed. John was told of this & he since corrected it to our usual "5-out-of-7" races. Maybe the point spread adjusted accordingly when the setup was fixed-I dunno??
It doesn't matter to me,personally. I'm sure it all could be fixed, but remember,John's just getting the hang of this new-skool Autoscore proggy.

irvan36mm 11-22-2004, 02:06 PM Ooops, forgot! The "Race Results/Winners Circle" page (or "Whiners Circle"! lol) is up & running. Thanks to Chris for the pics. It's a little rough, but it'll get better as we all go along! Also, the "Pics" page has some new additions, including a nitro car testing out our 90-degree banking in Turn 3 while trying to pass another car for position.

I personally wouldn't mind if Race 1 was adjusted to a 2 point spread. Especially since it would put me in the points lead and this would probably be the only time I'm in first.

rcgen 11-23-2004, 07:54 AM anybody know what rpms web site is?
The one in Orlando? http://www.rpmspeedway.com/ The site no longer exist. :(
David Butts 11-23-2004, 08:32 AM anybody know what rpms web site is?
Ok Steve here's what you asked for. RPM's wesite is as follows. www.wereoutofbusiness.com (http://www.wereoutofbusiness.com) Well atleast as far as their indoor carpet racing is concerned. They still have the outdoor offroad and dirt oval as well as the parking lot road course but unless someone from that area steps up to organize and promote it then run the races they're done. It's a shame too that place is/was beautiful.
Ah when I hit the lottery I see my oppurtunity in life to no longer work for anyone . I can hear it now, Overheard in the pits, Hey where you guys racing next? We're all going to Buttsey's! It's that new place out in middleburg. Ah nice place too. Got everything you ever asked for hanging on the wall. Man! There I go daydreaming again. Oh well it's off to work at my slave driving job. See ya!
Echeconnee 11-23-2004, 08:38 AM yea David I think a lot of us would do the very same thing, only I think I would hire someone to run it so I could be just one of the racers and that's it. Running the races, racing your own car and wrenching your son's car and trying to make sure everyone gets what they need from the hobby shop just don't leave much time for fellowship.
rcgen 11-23-2004, 09:58 AM I will know by Wednesday night if I am retiring from work and opening an indoor climate control race track LOL
irvan36mm 11-23-2004, 10:50 AM Ok Steve here's what you asked for. "Buttsey's"??? Is it anything like "Porky's"??LOL
If I were to win the lottery & build a track,it would have to be indoor asphalt w/skylight roof. (similar to a mall) Somehow,"Florida" and "permanent carpet track" doesn't last very long, especially in the last 3-5 years!

jst5150 11-23-2004, 11:02 AM I'd think its a tough deal to open an indoor track. Start with overhead: electric, air/heat, water, rent, insurance. Then put down a specialized carpet. Then tables and power (which goes back to electric, but ...) you have to have stations for crews and they sap a ton of power. Then, get into the races themselves, and prizes. Plus, you'd have to have a hobbyshop on the inside to sell product. ANd charge for use of the track and replacement wear-and-tear on the carpet. Given all of this, you'd still have to get a customer base. Traditionally, the sport is expensive. So, people tend to come and go quickly, based on income and relationships (e.g., my wife won't let me race). So, I'd think you'd have to couple the track with some other hobby -- like selling Magic and Pokemon cards (which would also draw kids to the hobby of RC racing), and maybe video games. Finally, you have to consider sheer population. At the track I'm going to, we got about a dozen people for the last weekend. Good turnout, great day. But, to meet all the expenses noted above, it probably takes more than 12 people. I can admire someone who tries to open an indoor track in a tough spot like here. I'd think having a great Web site would be a good draw. So would great marketing in newspaper, radio and TV. But in the end, someone's still gotta dump $300 or so to get started. Then, learn to race. Then want to know how to do the setups and so on. Tough road to ho.
Shumacher 99 11-23-2004, 02:16 PM Well George was the pic any clearer that time??
