davepull 10-12-2004, 11:36 PM hey travis did you ever get the hardcoated shock? if so want to get ride of the other one? irvan36mm 10-13-2004, 12:47 AM when ever someone is fast other always say it's the motor. you can look at all the classes the fast cars steve pedano in spec me in stock tom p in 19t car and chris g in truck they aren't the fastest cars down the straights these guys got there car hooked up in the corners hell tom p 19t car looks like it is a slot through the corners. i think alot of the other drivers need to do the chassis homework and stop worrying about motors. Dave- I agree w/you. Ask any fast guy, whether he's a Bear,Phil or a Joe Mama or a Worlds driver like Matt Francis and they'll tell you to get the chassis issues squared-away first! Anybody can buy the fastest motors, highest voltage batteries & the killer latest shiny, colored bling for their cars. But they all won't mean s*** (Dale Jr's words) if your car can't handle in the turns! I've looked at Steve Pedano's Spec motors after running fast laps & I'll tell anybody right now-it's all legal! Ask Steve & look for yourselves! BTW,"Shawn of the Dead" pays DOUBLE for racing & web duties! LOL -George travymoto1 10-13-2004, 07:13 AM hey travis did you ever get the hardcoated shock? if so want to get ride of the other one? Dave , yes and yes Shumacher 99 10-13-2004, 07:19 AM make that 8-0 Boy your lucky Curt had a bad night 10-7 If he didn't spot ya'll 6 in the first 3 innings it would have been bad for the Yanks. oh well get some of Pedro tonight. GO SOX!!! xpss 10-13-2004, 08:04 AM this has been brought up before but what does everybody think of Letting Shawn Leary race for free for maintaining the website??????? I am all for it just on thing tthat I would like to see and that is a picture of each class winner for the week. in my opinion if hobbyworld which reads this by the way finds out about it they may not like it.the website is not hobbyworlds website,i for one dont have a problem with him not paying to race, but no matter who does or doesnt pay to race everyone needs to pay the 1 towards the track mantinence pot.i know there a few people that dont pay to race out there, like for instance the person who blows the track off.he should be cleared of the 14 dollars but still owes the track a dollar.i hope everyone agrees with this,it will make us obtain our goal alot faster. xpss 10-13-2004, 08:09 AM as for the trailer and cars pitting on the asphalt?im sure john will still pit there and thats fine.if you could pull up there and unload then move you veihicle out to the feild everyone would have plenty of room to pit.please just bear in mind when you move your car to give us trailer guys the back straight away.thanks xpss 10-13-2004, 08:16 AM and one more thing, on a sad note for all you guys out there that enjoyed that black hole going into turn three,it is no longer there!!!!!!!!!!!thanks to tom and steve pedano and myself.(i played stupidvisor) they moved some lights around and adjusted some others and got some working again.so its all brite and looked awesome.so we are already headed in the right direction.big thanks goes out the steve and tom irvan36mm 10-13-2004, 09:56 AM in my opinion if hobbyworld which reads this by the way finds out about it they may not like it.the website is not hobbyworlds website,i for one dont have a problem with him not paying to race, but no matter who does or doesnt pay to race everyone needs to pay the 1 towards the track mantinence pot.i know there a few people that dont pay to race out there, like for instance the person who blows the track off.he should be cleared of the 14 dollars but still owes the track a dollar.i hope everyone agrees with this,it will make us obtain our goal alot faster.I'm donating $10 this Saturday! -George xpss 10-13-2004, 11:06 AM donations are great!but you dont have to do that just give tom or who ever is signing up a dollar if you race for free. WehnerRacer 10-13-2004, 03:20 PM I thought hobbyworld was taking 1 dollar out for every car that is in the race....not an extra dollar for every car you race.......what i am trying to say is i thought the money was coming out of all the money that hobbyworld makes of the classes each week, it didnt seem like you meant 15 dollars plus the other dollar or 20 dollars plus 2 dollars. please clear it up for me thanks xpss 10-13-2004, 03:29 PM all you pay is 15 dollars to race,we get 1 dollar out of that for the track.theres no extra expense for you.if you sign up for three class thats 25 dollars the track gets 3 dollars.get it now? Shumacher 99 10-13-2004, 04:03 PM Shawn i sent you an email. (website email) stoneman 10-13-2004, 05:04 PM in my opinion if hobbyworld which reads this by the way finds out about it they may not like it.the website is not hobbyworlds website,i for one dont have a problem with him not paying to race, but no matter who does or doesnt pay to race everyone needs to pay the 1 towards the track mantinence pot.i know there a few people that dont pay to race out there, like for instance the person who blows the track off.he should be cleared of the 14 dollars but still owes the track a dollar.i hope everyone agrees with this,it will make us obtain our goal alot faster. lets all pitch in and pay his entry fee. David Butts 10-13-2004, 07:07 PM yeah that's why I'm going back to spec plus you cant change them z wire they call steeeing links...oh I broke all the times he beat me...that the story I am sticking with lol Not so fast guys. With the new owners of the Legends kits came some new rules. I'm pretty sure that now you can run any steering linkage, Ball bearings and I'm not real sure on the motors and batteries but I think there have been changes there too. Bill Fraden(bullfrog) could shed some more light on this if asked. One more thing. I say run the legends on the big oval. after all they are models of oval racers. DEI.2 10-13-2004, 07:46 PM I'll kick in a dollar every week for Shawn to race if he'll keep up the web site. rcgen 10-13-2004, 07:53 PM Legends rules from the rcspecracing.com website just like ARCOR rules: At this time we are using the ARCOR set of rules that are published on the ARCOR website. There are a few minor modifications to the rules but to keep classes running at this time, please use local track rules until the new rule book comes out. Here are how the ARCOR rules read: 1. Absolutely no changes to the configuration of the chassis or cutting on the chassis parts. No replacement parts of graphite or higher tech materials. 2. Any location for the receiever and speed control on top of the battery plate is allowed. Steering servo may be mounted on the front axle plate. 3. No changes to the steering blocks, axles. Front springs may be changed from the original as supplied with the car. Shims are allowed on the front end to stiffen front ends. May also add front kingpin brace to help prevent breakage of the front axle plate. May put washer behind the E-clip on the axle, to stop it from pulling through. 4. Original steering rods may be bent as needed, it the steering servo is mounted on the front axle plate. Double lock collars are allowed on each side of the steering linkage, to prevent slippage. Tie rod turn buckles may be used as a replacement for the wire steering rods as supplied with the car. 5. Original front bumper must remain on the car. Any aftermarket bumper may be used, with the exception of a graphite bumper. 6. No ball bearings allowed anywhere on the car, except inside servos. No modifications to the oilite bushings in any way. Ball bearings may be used on the front and rear axles. 7. No changes allowed to the rear axle or differential. No ceramic or carbide diff balls or drive rings allowed. Must use original type 48 pitch gear (81 tooth). No lightweight rear axles. No thrust bearings allowed, except one in the diff assembly. 8. No change in the molded rear hubs (no custom machined substitutes) OPTION: Allow standard aluminum set screw hub only (13002) Aluminum hubs may be used on left and right side of rear axle. 9. Only genuine R/C Legends Bodies are allowed as a replacement. No changes allowed from the trim lines, except for 1/4” tolerance around wheel openings. Body must be painted and all windows clear, or cut out. Front and rear windows must be left intact. 10. No roll over or stiff antennas are allowed. Antenna may be mounted under the body. 11. What is a good rollout to start with? David Butts 10-14-2004, 08:36 PM I am going to run that $5 19t purple endbell motor from the raffle this Saturday. What is a good rollout to start with? I'd start around a 2.50 to 2.55. On my last trip to RPM I ran an ultrabird at 3.03 on a track that's maybe a third the size of HW and turned my fastest times and most laps. Coulda fried eggs on the motor afterwards but it was fast. DEI.2 10-14-2004, 09:03 PM Don't hate me cause I'm Beautiful!!! Even though that hurts coming from the two guy's I respect most  P.S. First the bad. The website will not be up anymore very shortly. The good news is, the webmaster, myself, will be sitting on my 9'6" T&C longboard in Honolulu for the 13 weeks starting November 1st. I've enjoyed racing with ya'll for the past two years and will hopefully not be gone for too long. I don't even think they've heard of oval over in Hawaii, but I'll find out in a couple of weeks.
