As some of you know I ran the Maverick 04 OPC car for the first time at HW friday night. I'd like to say that if any of you are looking for another car or have a car that uses Associated front end and rear pod and are looking to update or replace your existing car that this would be a great choice. The Maverick cars are conversion kits for an L3 or L4 so it's an affordable choice. The OPC or one piece chassis is available with or without the performance pod and the slider is just that, Everything is adjustable, And they too are availble with or without the performance pod. Just take a look at Phil Owens or John Harts cars, Thats what they run. I'll be running mine more now that I finally tried it. It's hard to break old habits but you'll never know if you dont try so I did.

[QUOTE=David Butts]I think the whole track area(anything inside the fence)could use a little policing as well....

We all know by now that the track will not clean it'self up so we'll have to do it. I for one would like to race in a cleaner more professional looking environment [QUOTE]

We just need to set a date and I am sure ppl will come out and help...It has worked for the last two times when the road course needed work...just a suggestion....I am sure I'll be there to help...

Speaking of Chris Randall,I've talked to him Sunday & after a couple of stitches he's doing really well and will be able to make Saturday's race! Being the racer that he is,he said that he was more concerned about who would drive his Nastruck for him,as he qualified 3rd for the mains! (I probably would have drove it! lol) He also wanted to thank everybody for their concerns,as I told him that everyone was asking/trying to call him about his condition. Just goes to show how much of a tight-knit "family" we really are!

As Butts(tm) said, please make sure your fluorescent light fixtures are extremely well-secured when hanging them inside of pop-up tents. Chris mentioned that his fixture was chained-down,but after repeatedly bumping into it when getting up out of the chair,it loosened the chain. He also said that it would have been a lot worse if it fell while he or Steve were sitting down!

One of the things that I see starting to happen is more people are getting tents but are running out of places to put them because of the cars/trucks and trailers parked on the asphalt. I think that no vehicles should be alloud to park on the asphalt with the area allong the backstreatch for trailers. Or if you we could let guys park trailers on the asphalt but they must drop and park the vehicle elsewhere.

what does everybody think?

I Agree. I Now Have A Ez Up And Was Looking For A Place To Put It And Couldn't Find One So I Just Set Up In The Chicken Coupe. I Will Talk With John And Get It Stright Where No One Is To Park There We Need That Area For The Tents. More Racers Are Coming Out And We Need To Organize The Space That We Have So Everyone Has A Nice Place To Pit.

Sorry I have not posted. I have been working allot of hours at work and I was out of town last weekend. Yes, Therre will be a TurkeyShoot this year. I will get a flier set out this week if I have to do it myself. The person dooing it for us has been busy with other things. I realy do not have a give-a-@#%$ attitude like some of you think. I have been tring to get our off-road track back up and running. I know I could do a much better job promoting this race. I don't personaly profit by any Minnreg races. Maybe that is why I do not promote as well as others do. The race will not be a ROAR Regional. No ROAR membership in required. All classes will be $15.00. We will open for practice Friday 11/26, qualifing Saturday 11/27, and the Mains Sunday 11/28. Please reply with any questions. Again, sorry for the delay. Sam

just wanted everyone to know about this race thats comming up as well.this is awesome practice for the snowbirds.

you can only come and race if you promise to buy only a total of $10.00 in raffle tickets.

Rob- I believe the Saturday races start at 7pm?? Look up the "Hobby World Saturday Night Racing" thread for more info.

BTW,due to your past history of..uh..cleaning-up the raffle almost every week by purchasing ungodly amounts of raffle tix, there's now a $5.00 MAXIMUM raffle ticket purchase cap just for you only! Let's give us otherwise less fortunate HW raffle ticket buyers (ie: "The rest of us HW racers"! lol) a fighting chance to win something for once! Muahahahaha!

Rollout

if you're figuring rollout for a pan car, there's no internal ratio needed, it's simply:

pinion x tire size x 3.14 / spur = rollout

if someone has given you a good rollout and you want to figure out what pinion to use, just figure it backwards:

rollout x spur / 3.14 / tire = pinion

OK I talked to John and we need to keep the cars off the black top. If you want to park your trailer and unhook it that is an option. Or you can park your trailer on the back stretch closest to the track. other than that park where you like. there is plenty of land and grass for the cars but the trailers can only stretch a extension cord so far so be courteous to the trailer guys. I am not telling I'm am asking for your help on this. I also am not saying you have to park outside the gate (even though some of you think that I should say that) we all know some of the people that walk through that late at night in that area and I don't want to see anyones cars or trucks getting vandalized. John Hart will still park in his normal spot and I think we can all agree that he has alot of stuff to unload so we can race and needs to get as close as possible to do so. If you have any input LMK. I have heard alot of people complain that there is nowhere to put a EZ up (me being one) and if we host a big race we should have this straight before hand.
Thanks
Chris G.

Whats next? Dividing the parking lot into 1 foot squares? A driver only gets so many square feet, or is it so many feet per car? What are you going to do when you have more easy ups than parking lot? What about renting space on the black top? Using the money to go for track repair?

davepull
10-12-2004, 08:06 PM
Steve this is a good move it is only a matter of time before something happens. like racer x is late for his race and because he is crowed in on the blacktop he fails to see the cord trips falls face first into racer y 's truck putting a huge dent in it while pulling on the cord that is attached to racey z's stuff which ends up on the ground in a puddle. lol

I think you guys get the point. So like the little guy says let's keep the trackside open for trailers. and park along the fence.

Let him race for free,JMO,it is alot of work to post winners pictures, points standings every week for a track, alot of work and time consuming at times,I for one know as I own Kevin's RC Oval Site (http://hometown.aol.com/langcnn/myhomepage/index.html),and keep it updated for Branford RC Speedway (http://www.scottshobbies.0catch.com/) every other week. I also take videos, pictures, post winners rides, and the results of the race on my site.

Lets focus on the current problem which is a cluster %$#@ of cars all over the area where we need to pit. Then if we run out of ez up space use the track fund to build pit spaces. Do you guys have any idea how much better the track got with the track fund. we could make the area as great as the track. which is awsome track. This is a good thing to make everything safer (Like P said) and more organized. :)

I think John should park on the black top he has alot of stuff to carry to the driver stand and thats about as close as you can get. Also if someone is using there car or truck as a pit that should be ok too. But when I had the easi0up it was very difficult to carry all my stuff and find a place to pit. I think this is a good idea but if at all possible we need to keepthe back strait open as well as the ramped area so that anyone can unload then park that way they dont have to carry there stuff too very far.

and since Im here I talked to John about the legends class. I have had concerned people asking me about motors. In short if there is any doubt if a car/motor is illegal it will be teched. Springs checked brushes pulled and if need be arm checked. If a car is found illegal that driver and there points will be disqualified for that night.

yah a couple of weeks ago john dropped his trailer and it left alot of room for people. I think we we are getting at is people parking on the blacktop for no reason. it seems it will be a work in progress but the overall idea is making it so that everybody that has tents can use them without it being a CF.

when ever someone is fast other always say it's the motor. you can look at all the classes the fast cars steve pedano in spec me in stock tom p in 19t car and chris g in truck they aren't the fastest cars down the straights these guys got there car hooked up in the corners hell tom p 19t car looks like it is a slot through the corners. i think alot of the other drivers need to do the chassis homework and stop worrying about motors.

in stock a ran 33 laps with 2 different motors both are built the same 4499 brush purple pos red neg .010 cut off the trailing edge of the brush i break the brush in as per zubaks instructions and roll them out aroun 2.15

Hmm...our (aren & me) legend motors are very legal...we are still using the non rebuildable 21t spec motors...no cutting coms on our legends...brushes are the original that came with the motor...not sure if they are legal hehehe
