Yea, after seeing where its headed now I am not so sure we are going anywhere....especially with the wind and rain due in middle GA on Sunday and Monday....I dont want to be driving back through that crap in addition to the traffic. Guess we are going to wait till tomorrow to finally decide on what to do. If I am here and you guys are at the track I will be up there.

I for 1 are glad the race is canceled I have to stay at the hospital all weekend to protect the hospital. we put out sand bags today around the genarators to keep the flooding waters out. and bourded up the fourth floor to put the pateince that can't be moved. going to be a boring weekend. oh well the overtime will be nice.$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Hope everyone is doing ok this morning. We had a small limb fall on the house in this mornings winds but it's calmed down a little now. It was a loud enough thud that it woke everyone in the house up. Wow! Imagine what those poor people south of us are enduring compared to what we're seeing up here. Yikes! it's supposed to be like this through tuesday maorning? Well there'll be no test runs at chimney international speedway anytime soon.

They are being pounded down there right now by "Frances",this thing seems to be in neutral,I was watching,and waiting all night and the eye never touched land until early this morning. :(


There is a nasty cell of storms heading here from Jacksonville now,CH 12. news was showing possible (2) tornadoes in the Orange Park,Middleburg area about 10 min. ago,heading West..

Well there'll be no test runs at chimney international speedway anytime soon.man I went to bed @ like 6:30 pm last night so that I could stay up all night. I got up @ like 100 am and it really didn't start getting bad till about 330 am then the wind picked up a little and they issued tornado warning for a twister in Green cove. it moved all sr16. they issued a few more warnings between then an about 800 am but nothing got close.

I'll be sitting here watching .

Me and Jason went to the beach earlier to be idiots and experience some real wind, we got more than we expected. The rain drops felt like needles. We were soaked within minutes. You couldn't look out at the ocean without glasses on. The beach was packed with other people too, and the waves were coming up to the end of the small wooden walkways that lead out to the sand. AWESOME!!! I hope everyone is safe and sound at home. Its picking up pretty bad here. My neighbors tree came crashing down this morning, no one was hurt, just fell in the front yard. Power has come on and off four times. Jason's power is currently out, generator on. I thought we might get something from this cane, Ivan is on his way too they say, its 5 day track sets its course right off the shore of south Florida. Crazy, three in one year and hurricane season doesn't end until the end of October.

Whew? Man O man. Our power went out sporadically several times yesterday but at about 6:00 pm. It went out for the night. As the winds picked up yesterday afternoon we started getting some pretty good sway in several of the trees in the back yard. We watched as one started pulling it's roots back and forth and after about an hour it went. Then the tops of two more trees came down within an hour or two. One in the front yard lost a big limb too but luckilly none of them hit the house. Yet? It's still pretty windy this a.m. and with all the rain overnight and predicted for the rest of the day the ground is like mush. Power came back on around 3:25 this morning. Looking up and down the street it's reminiscent of a war zone.

I got woken up @ 3:30 by a limb smacking the wall about 2ft from the window in the bedroom. Talk about dumb luck huh?

Our power went out around 7 last night and came back around 6:30 am. Alot of gusty wind and heavy rain. I was able to watch the Nascar race until the batteries died. Good thing channel 12 thought about showing it. It was something different to watch than the news about the storm and the news people on the beach and the idiots that went there. Sorry Shawn & Jason...had to poke fun at you guys...I have been in Jax most of my life and still don't understand why people do that :p Well time to get prepared for Ivan...I think I will be investing on a generator...I just was too warm in the house plus I can use it for r/c too....hmmm Time to pick up the broken branches around the yard.

David, since you are further south I bet you got higher winds than we did. Turns out my neighbors tree fell ontop of their pontiac grand-am turning it into, what looks like, a convertible. WOW. Eugene, it may have been stupid, but I figure that if a tornado is going to touch down and kill me anyway, i might as well experience it before it does. If the beach had been evacuated I wouldn't have gone, that's for sure. Generator is first on my list of things to buy this week, that's if we get a chance, with Ivan coming, Home Depot stock must be going up like crazy.

Everything's OK here in DT Orange Park! (1.5 mi from dog track) A neighbor 2 doors down had a biga** pine tree fall onto their house. As for the California NASCAR race,I only got as far as the Invocation,then lost power until 2:30 this afternoon! (Thank god for MRN and Rooster 107! lol) Is registration open yet???

Glad to hear most everbody came out unscathed, I wish I could say that. Today around noon I had a large A** oak hit the house. The roof had atleast 3 punchures, as far as structural damage I am in the process of checking that, but from what I have seen so far, several 2x6 are split lengthe wise, they shoudl be able to be sistered for repair. There are several the will have to be completely removed and replaced. Right now the holes are covered and the rain is being kept out. Back to the repairs, its going to be a long day and night.

Mike W- Good luck trying to find one of those Pulsars used! Seems that everyone is using those chargers these days. As for a lathe,I suggest getting w/ your soon-to-be in-laws (Steve & Mike) and see if they would want to chip in for one. With as much R/C action as the 3 of you guys run,I can see a really huge benefit on getting one!
