George, This may sound stupid but for the life of me I can't figure out how to go through the different setting options on this GM speedo. I have read the instructions in English and German and I am still confused a little. You are the only person I know that has had one maybe you could take a look FRI. Thanks.
P.S. I have it set to the radio though.lol
I may be doing it right just not sure. These things are wierd

Hello,

Thank you for contacting the Fun Experts at the Department of Parks, Recreation
and Entertainment, and thanks for your inquiry regarding a city park for r/c
cars. Public Relations Specialist Pam Wilson, (904) 630-3555, PWilson@coj.net,
has asked me to reply on her behalf.

We are trying to locate property and funding for just such a facility. We would
need community support to pursue the possibility, and an interested club would
be most welcome to send us a proposal on club letterhead telling us how an r/c
track could be funded, constructed, and operated. The contact here would be
Recreation Planner Kelley Boree, Department of Parks, Recreation and
Entertainment, 851 North Market Street, Jacksonville, FL 32202, (904) 630-3546,
KBoree@coj.net.

Thanks again for your suggestion. Please let me know if I can be of further
assistance.

Sincerely,
John Farrar

--Do yall think it will ever happen???

rcgen
07-17-2004, 12:09 AM
I don't see why it can't happen...That's how the old Arlington track was. The club (First Coast Auto Racers) ran the races on city property. Strickland's in Ormond Beach and the one in Ocala are prime examples how the City provided land for racing. Jacksonville and it's rc racers need to get back on board so everyone will benefit from a city owned rc raceway facility.

actually, re-reading that, I work with some Boree's and am pretty good friends with them...will find out if there is any relation to the above and see if we can get an inside line of communication.

rcgen
07-17-2004, 12:23 AM
The last time I had any communication with the COJ about a rc park, they were looking at property on the northside. I guess that fell through or its still in the works. This being an election year city council members up for reelection or election are willing to hear what their constituents have to say LOL

rcgen
07-17-2004, 12:28 AM
That being said we probable need everyone to start contacting or emailing Jacksonville's city council members. Website www.coj.net. Even you guys in OP and Middleburg can email them there's nothing to lose.

That's a nice letter. I believe the city owes FCAR money for the construction of a new park- 50k. The councilman Lake Ray knows all about that.As for property the city ran that club all over trying to find some property with no luck. Mainly because once it was out of Lake Rays area the money had to come out of their money. It just sounds like more election hype. Once it's over with they will forget us.A club is easy to form besides 99% of you already belong to the national club right? This is just my 2 cents worth as I have seen this before - I got the first park going.

shawnleary
07-17-2004, 11:13 AM
The city owes FCAR 50k? Has FCAR sued the city for the money? It would go along way to building a new park.

Had alot of fun last night,George I told ya I was A-Main bound http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmilies.de/deal.gif ..
Wish we could have got to the mains though..

Note: If anyone happens to see a car stand(blue)out on 103rd street today,I think it flew out my window on impact with Chris's truck..Sorry Chris and Amanda just glad you guys were ok,I am a little sore today, but should be well enough to make it to Branford tomorrow..

Here are the directions from Hobby World to Branford RC Speedway..
Hope to see some of ya there Sunday 12:30...

Take I-10 W.
Exit ramp right- I-75 South
Go to Exit 427-US 90- Lake City
Make a left at the light, you are on US 90,go down I would say 7 red lights, there is plaza with Food Lion on the left and Advance Auto Parts on the right,(make)merge to the right towards the Auto parts store, that is Highway 247 (Branford HWY)
Go down 247 until you reach Beachville,as soon as you reach Beachville look for CR 49,there will be a blue Jiffy store on the left, turn left at that flashing light, you are now on CR 49.Go down past the dirt bike track, pass that dirt road, and you come to the second dirt road on the right, 264th st, go down it,first dirt road on the left,61st street,go down until you see the signs on the left posted on the fence, pull all the way to the back.

Or take I-10 W
Exit- Sanderson Olustee-US 90 Turn Left- Towards Lake City
Follow it until you come into Lake City and you come up to the Food Lion plaza on the right and a Walgreens on the left, make that left at the light, that will be Highway 247 (Branford Highway)Go down 247 until you reach Beachville,as soon as you reach Beachville look for CR 49,there will be a blue Jiffy store on the left, turn left at that flashing light, you are now on CR 49.Go down past the dirt bike track, pass that dirt road, and you come to the second dirt road on the right, 264th st, go down it,first dirt road on the left,61st street,go down until you see the signs on the left posted on the fence, pull all the way to the back.

I'm all for a city-owned track! I don't see a city-owned carpet track,as the less maintenance the city has to do,aside from cutting the grass, changing blown bulbs & emptying the dumpster, the better!

Kevin- The last thing you ever want to do out-of-town is get into a wreck! Fri night wasn't a good night to be on the roads. You're supposed to save that kind of "action" for the track, anyways! lol Check your mail for the 4-cell stock results!

If FRI night counts as an event the poor guys in the B Qualifer 4 cell stock who could have made the A got screwed I guess??? Like Kevin. Just curious calling that an event just baffles me. I won't complain just don't agree. :dude:

I won't complain just don't agree. :dude:Chris- I'm not too crazy about that, either. It was always a rule (as far as I know) that if in the event of rain during the night, the night would be called "official" if 2 complete quals were accomplished before the track was lost. Anybody w/ concerns should take that up w/ John when he comes back this Friday & see what he says. Kinda like ending a NASCAR race under "Green/White/Checkered". lol :(

Also,Tom & I would like to thank everybody for their continued support for HW racing in light of John's (and,to be fair,Dave & Dave's) unexpected "vacation". He should be back this Friday night,so whatever support you showed for us in the last few weeks, please show the same for John, too. If it wasn't for John coming down every Friday night w/ his scoring system, the HW racing program wouldn't exist. Hopefully, everyone can come back, bury the (Molly)hatchet and race w/o anymore "issues". Then we can all have a good time!!!

I will take it up with John. If it counts it's no big deal. Tring a new gear and motor combo after I just won the first TQ was dumb on my part and I finished 4th (last time I run that combo). I'm sure if I would have won I would be quiet and happy. But I still think for the guys who just by chance get put in the second qualifer due to lack of room in the first get no justice. If for some reason I would have been in the second qualifer and ran a faster time than the a main qualifer How would that be fair. If your going to call the race then it should be where you qualifed not where you finish in the 2nd heat.????

It began raining BEFORE the 2nd quals were complete. Halfway through the 2nd 4-cell 19t qual the track became too wet to race.

If ya'll did not complete the second quals. then the night is a wash out, no points will be made and you have to start agian the next clear night, but if all quals. were ran then you finsh how you quals ended.

In your example,if you did run a faster time than the the fastest guy in 1st heat, you would have gotten TQ in the mains. Since we didn't run the mains, you would have won. Whatever order the computer sorts-out the mains, that would be the Mains finishing order for the night. It's just like we ran 1 qual & 1 main.
Since it started raining during 2nd heat of 19t & the touring guys wanted to race their 2nd qual on wet pavement-if it was up to me,the whole night would have been thrown out. But it isn't up to me or Tom,so we'll just have to ask Hart Friday night & see what he says.
