Would anyone recommend an older car for wanting to try the crete with.
Or does someone have one they don't want anymore that they would sell real cheap.
I don't want one I have to spend $100 bucks on in parts first.
Just to see if I want to do it again.

ive got a hyperdrive 510 ill let go for 125. you then will need all electroincs,plus tireds. car is a 4-cell car. races 2 times. finished 4th at the msa race last oct in 6.0 stock.car has purple trinity post set, graphit axel, stock assoc. front end does have the long king pins for wolf progressive springs. pod mounted wing and new side and center shocks. if you want it ill bring it up on the 12 to t-town. im going back to work.




tonybrothers, ill be up on the 12th. i think its a dirt night,but it would be a GREAT night on the crete. thats all ill say. want to thank all the guys who run both tracks when im home. i only get to race once a mth. and i like to come up there to race. and mclake go to macs and spend some money. use it on 4 cell batts. you run 5.8 on batts of mine that are over a year and a half old just think what ya could do with the ones in my box!

I can't believe you haven't even run a lap and already wanting to run mod.
If you remember, we have a mod class. It's trucks.
This is some of the reason the gas class has come to what it is. NO RULES If you wanted to run mod. why didn't you by a truck.
The stock class is the only class that as of late has a min. of 6 to 8 cars. So why not screw everything up and run mod. As if it isn't already expensive enough.
If ya'll start running mod. count me out. I'll start spending what little money I spend on the hobby now, somewhere else and racing other places to.

Looks as if I'll be over there in a couple week to run with people that have rules. I'm thinking about bringing my full body too. Haven't run it in a while.

Hobby Raceway will not be giving any Certificates any more. There will NOT be a motor buy rule. There will NOT be any bounty on track records. I've tried all of these this past weekend and it was the worse thing I've ever done. There will NOT be foul language any more on the driver stand. I had more fussing this weekend than I have seen in my life of racing.

that's because yall are chicken. the Alabama boys wented to run. the sippi when homehad 3 buggies but some didn't want none of the Kranzel. 2 Mod trucks showed up and no one wanted to run after what they saw how fast they were.

I need you to think about something in the Mississippi mod/burshless truck class. The class started as a brushless class but to make things interesting we allowed brushed motors. In the beginning racers ran ROAR 19 turn motors and were very competitive with the Novak brushless. In fact CC usually won with a 19 turn but by less than 1/2 a lap.

I need to find a way to make sure the burshless remain competitive in the burshless class. It may turn out that a 6 turn single wins every weekend and that would require a rule change. Some suggestions to keep the brushless competitive might be to increase the race length to 6, 8 or 10 min. As it is now, the burshless uses less than 1400 mAh in a 4 min heat. 8 min would not be hard for a brushless but impossible for a 8 turn brushed motor. Or, we could just limit motors to ROAR 19s. Now would be the time to make that rule BEFORE everyone goes out and buys a 10x2.

FYI.. Novak lists the brushless at 194 watts. Some modified motors are over 220. The Novak is only slighly warm at the end of a heat and may actually produce more power as the race wares on since it doesn't have brushes or nearly as much heat build-up.

Please give it some thought and let me know what you think. So far the brushless has been fast enough but I'm wondering if we don't need to set a brushed motor limit right now before things get out of hand. I really don't want to see racer spend their money needlessly on motors that we are going to outlaw. This is ment to be a drivers class that includes the NOVAK brushless and modified brushed motors.

If the truth be know, and this is a little painful for me to admit, I don't think he ever got outrun by a brushless. Futher, he always said he intened to get a brushless setup for the burshless class. He told me that every weekend on the drivers stand. It was a matter of financing but he did get a Novak when able (and to the best of my knowledge, he was still undefeated with his 19 turn).

And besides doesn't Novak make two versions of the motor now.

Good question.... Yes, but the new one is a derated version of the one we are currently using and intended for stock racing. You should consider it in buggy!:-))))) It uses the same speed control and for a very modest investment in a brushless motor you could sell your lathe, dyno, brush factory... :) Just kidding. There is some good reading here...http://www.teamnovak.com/ If Novak comes out with "new and improved" SS5800 we will have to look at that when or if the time comes. Do I have to talk about the HV-Maxx system?
