Back in town, thought id wave my hand.Hello everybody. Track layout has alot of corners.But oh I love those Long Straight's.But hey I haven't paid much attention to how a offroad course should be.

Guess I could have told ya'll how big it is. It looks tight, but those lanes are 12' wide and the 2 straights are 100' long. The whole layout is 100' by 72'.

Hey there Slider glad to see ya back. How is that knee doing. You going to be about to race this weekend. I belive that we are going to run both tracks again.

Scott i can get some material from work for a catch to go under the cross over just incase someone doesn't make it. Yes we will run both tracks and try to get money to help with the offroad. We need a huge crowd this weekend. So bring everything you got and run.

like the cross over, actually a lot of tracks have a cross over now. my wifes been in the hospital since mon. comming home tommorow,depends on how she is if i can be there sat. tony bring that 200 amp box in case i get to come and ill wire it in.

Need shovels, rakes, hoes, natty's, hammers, etc.....

DJ is bring a Kubota with a box blade, auger, and frontend loader to help Sat. We may need some saws(crosscut, hack) and wheel barrells. I appreciate the help guys!

bill done great, he won the breakout class. me and him had some dang close racing. we finished the main on same lap side by side across the line, .02 sec. difference, but I ended up breakin out 4 laps, and bill got the win. let me tell you slider, man it was fun.

The Juice? man got last due to broke T-plate after being put in the wall. Got wrecked every heat by "slower cars" and still turned 34/4:00.37 to qualify 3rd. I had a good time but When your turning 6.8 and someone is turning 7.1's in the qualifiers they need to help you not put you in the wall. I had 1 guy tell me you can't pass on the outside of turn 4. Because I took the air off his spoiler and he spun. Bill did win breakout.

Steve Tanski is bringing his tractor also. Looks like things are coming together for a big day. I think we can get alot done. Moving the stand might be the big task.

We will need some hammers, tape measures and a level also to get the stand right.

Thanks guys for all the hard work and time that was spent at the track. A big thanks to all that helped: MAC Hobbies, all the tractor guys, and everone that was out pitching in a hand. Lets not forget Tony for letting us be able to build this track out there. Last but not least (well maybe not) old Scott Foshee for all of his hard work in planning and coming up with a great design. I hope that I did not leave any out and if I did just let me know and I will add ya. Let's not forget the hard work that it took to make this track and lets keep it looking nice.

SUNDAY THE 7TH!

Two weeks, I'm pretty sure I'll be there the way the schedule looks now.
So whats the surface like. Hard, soft, red clay, top soil, or what.
Is it a gas track, will electric be ok to.

Tommy we are going to run both gas and electric, I have not run the electric on it yet but will this week. I belive that its going to be ok for both.

The surface is a mixture of clay,sand and top soil. Electrics will fly just like the nitros.

Rules will be up soon about some of the classes.

Surely can't be roar rules,for gas class. To many different engine combinations out today.May take a few classes in the gas.Heck let's just put V-8's in em. :wave:

Has anyone run an electric truck or buggy on it yet?

Is the monster truck class going to be split in any way or will all run together. In cullman the trucks are all different truggy to tmax and all run together and I got out run by a tmax, on an off road there really is no definite advantage. Also more is better.

Yeah, i know it's gonna take some work. I may try to go up Sat. but it will probably be Sunday (if i can keep everyone off it for a while). I still have a few ideas before the 7th.

i was thinking maybe a washboard somewhere by the crossover jump

Been keeping up with goings on at Hobby Raceway. Congrats on the new track. Going to get by and take a look at it soon. Might even dust off something and come play if there ever is a single event scheduled.
Anyone besides me thought that posts for an off road track, racing and such might not belong in an OVAL TRACK DISCUSSION board? Perhaps someone should start a new topic in the OFF ROAD DISCUSSION board! It won't be quite as convienient but then Hank might appreciate keeping the topics focused. Just thinking....

Yeah, I was worried about that. When Scott had me scrape back 6
more feet I got that corner cut a little too low. I was going to bring some
back in but with all the fast building I forgot. I wander if we could do some
kind of french drain if adding dirt doesn't work. Just thinking out loud.
Also I like the idea of a washboard myself.
