Whats up Tommy! Yes I am back home now. I went by and saw nitro Joe, hard to believe that he actually likes nitro now. So you still racing offroad? Were do you race it at? I went by the track and only saw an oval, no offroad what a shame. I'm still racing full time, gas only, 1/8 and 1/10. the comp on the east coast is unreal, 1sec and you can be two mains down, I like it, just making me faster!
I'll call you later today.
By the way, I see you are the roar guy, are you nuts or something? lol

B4,

Have you seen the track in Cullman Alabama? I haven't raced it, but seen it.
I thought it was a nice off road track. The driver's stand is about 8' off
the ground and has an awning. Several turns with ok banks and a few good
jumps. I think they run mostly gas up there though.

Seems like you are a veteran at this fuel racing. I've been racing
1/10 nitro truck (losi xxxnt) for several months. Don't get to race
much over here in T-town because no gas unless the Sippi guys
come. I've been to sippi myself to race the oval. I was there this
past Friday. I had a problem of running about half a race and my
motor would quit. Thought maybe too lean, so adjusted back but
thenwas sluggish. When I leaned it out 1/4 turn, it then seemed to
run hot and quit again. In other words my small adjustments either
way seemed to be the extreme. Any tips????

BA I wish I could of been more help Friday night, but it seemed like everything I touched I had to work on. As soon as I charged my xxx nt up the throttle servo went bad and the whole time I was trying to get the LST running. I am glad that you came over and race with us I enjoyed it. Pearce said that we are going to get the track worked on since the rain has washed it down so bad. On your truck I would start with the simple stuff make sure you have no air leaks, replace your fuel tubing, change the glow plug. Now when a motor starts to were out I have had them do exactly what you are saying, as the motor heats up it looses that tightness which makes the compression go away. I would pull it apart and see. When the engine is hot turn the fly wheel and make sure it still has a good pinch at the top.

well I ll see you later

Ryan

Check out what Rufus said. Something else you might want to look at is the fuel tank, I have seen the losi lids get loose around the o-ring, this will cause it to run hot and create a hard to tune engine, also look at the flywheel. It is possable that it is loose, when the engine gets hot it starts to slip, this unloads the engine, which will make it die and run hot also. I know it sounds weird, but I have seen this alot. Make sure you have at least one washer between the colet and the crank brg and the colet is NOT bottoming out in the flywheel.

Hope this helps,

Ralph

Ninjazx7,

It's been a while since I raced before this past Friday. I'm pretty sure
it's my truck the way the antenna lays back and the pink fuel tubing tags
on the body clips, and oh, I think I'm the only one that uses ALL the losi
stickers on every inch, lol. I'll claim it unless someone says different.
Thanks, Brent

Tommy I think you are over thinking the situation, get a truck and we will run, if it is fun who cares it is not like we a running for money, I mean dont get me wrong I want to win BAD at anything I do. Lets just race! You are a very good driver I do not see you at any disadvantage!

Rufus,

On the www.ofna.com web page they have a picture of that
Picco 7 port .12 motor. Is that the one you were talking about?

Rufus
07-17-2004, 11:45 PM
yeah that is it, but you have to get the one with the threaded crank, if it is not available, then you have to buy the one with the sg and send it to ofna, they will swap the cranks for free. Really good people to do business with.

Hey rufus....I'm not sure which one but either the lst or the revo. How do you like yours??

Rufus
07-18-2004, 10:48 PM
I really like the truck but the steering servos have to go and right now I think the carb is mest up and I really think the carb is a lemon. The truck drives awesome and handles better than any other monster truck I have seen or driven. I ran it on the off road in cullman ala. It was just flat out awesome. They have a 21 foot triple and it would smack it, very little body roll through the turns. awesome power and the shift is really good not too hard.

well i don't have a dog in this hunt but, i think the hpi savage with a mach .26 with the right gearing ,it hauls!!!! talk to donald at the hobby shop, he knows what gear ratio lucas ran the first weekend he ran that motor.i think he stripped one of the gears and it was on backorder. thats why it has been slower. his gear came in last week so next time we race i think we will see what it can do.
i have never seen a monster truck accelarate that hard out of a corner.
imo ryans LST is fast, but didn't show the accelaration that Lucas showed the first weekend with mach.26.

is everyone just going to sit there what does anyone have interesting to talk about let me rephrase that a little any thing good not to argue about

jjdu4
07-18-2004, 11:05 PM
I don't personally think the savage is a good truck for racing....I think its a great truck but there's alot of trucks out there that are better for the track. The MGT is a truck that has alot of racing potential as well as some of the truggies like the GS SUT or the XTM Mammoth. The revo will bring alot to the table as far as racing goes and I wouldn't undercut the Tamiya TNX  . So far from what I have read on MANY forums the TNX is kicking butt on all the tracks it hits.....

LOL....I was in and out of the room....but was logged in :p :D

yea...I tell ya I read the whole thread last night and dang it was depressing

Rufus
07-18-2004, 11:09 PM
I looked at the gs storm when i was in cullman it is cool, but I kinda hope we will stick with true 2 speed monster trucks, I would hate for the monster truck class to get complicated.

jjdu4
07-18-2004, 11:12 PM
Yea I think the truggies are kinda not fair.....all they are is buggy chassis with monster like tires....they should be fast and handle well. I think we should stick with true monsters!! I for one will never buy a truggy again. I had the Ofna Dominator while it was fast it was too low to the ground for playing at the house....kinda stunk!

Rufus
07-18-2004, 11:17 PM
they are going to have a big monster truck race in cullman in Oct. $2000.00 to win and $1000.00 for second with lots of raffles and prizes they have a really nice place up there. I would like to get up some guys and go one saturday. It is fun, the track is big and pretty open. I will definitly go back.

jjdu4
07-18-2004, 11:19 PM

Hey jj why did you quit running your xxx nt. man you were running good. and clint no big deal I will be so glad when I get to race it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

jjdu4
07-18-2004, 11:44 PM
Just didn't have much time for it....My wife was rough to be around on Sat after I stayed out all night racing :freak:  . Now I'm hoping its gonna be different. I'm now gonna own just one truck....so I figure I'll want something to beat around with at the house and race so I guess a monster it will be. I sold everything I had this last time....dang I gotta quit doing that. It cost way too much. I didn't keep anything but some fuel, tools, and a couple sets of tmaxx-terra crusher wheels & tires.

Rufus
07-18-2004, 11:50 PM
I am glad you are geeting back in to it, enjoy racn with you, I think the monster truck class it is just goin to get better with all the people that are getting in to it. I will be glad when the revo gets here I really want to see what it is going to do.
