NINJAZX7 06-30-2004, 12:28 AM well it's not that quite that bad. haven't lost any height, but alot of what was on top fell and took alot of the steep banking out. it can be broken up and pushed back up to the top, with a dock broom. lots of work but the BIG hold up is no equipment.
NINJAZX7 06-30-2004, 12:35 AM what we need is
railroad spikes
heavy angle iron
and steel grate
rebar could be useful
anyone have any of these items and doesn't mind donating them or something please let me know. anything to get us racing on friday, weather permitting.
Rufus 06-30-2004, 12:36 AM We need either a small dozer, box blade, bobcat. But we cant do any of those things until the big guy turns the focet off! The track really needs a little bit of an overhaul.
Rufus 06-30-2004, 12:38 AM I dont think that it is going to dry out enough to run Friday night anyway. I wish it would I want to race really bad. Somebody needs to give ol Clint a run for his money!!
NINJAZX7 06-30-2004, 12:39 AM well rufus, i have tried the tractor, and box blade thing. and i really messed it up! it's harder to do than you may think, easy on flat ground. difficult on a angled area with tight turns.
the bobcat MAY be useful.
NINJAZX7 06-30-2004, 12:41 AM i'm like you i just want to give anyone a run for the money.
i'm ready to run'em
NINJAZX7 06-30-2004, 01:14 AM i can't believe someone would take the track stuff.
hopefully they will bring it back.

NINJAZX7 06-30-2004, 11:15 PM i would like to go to BR, but the #1 reason is money, #2 i don't have a buggy, even if i borrowed it from Alex i wouldn't know where to start with a setup.#3 my truck has a brushless setup in it.#4 no ROAR membership in several years.
it's been so long since i ran offroad in Jackson, or Sliddell that i would defintely stink up the place.
youre right if we start running offroad here the only people happy would be buggy guys.
5 guys in electric truck, 2 of us have gas trucks, and the other 2 have electric buggies, and 1 with all 3 (Ryan)
IMO i want the jumps bumps and everything, or nothing at all. its not much fun (to me) with a road course on dirt.
b4wizard 06-30-2004, 11:22 PM '''''''
NINJAZX7 06-30-2004, 11:35 PM in order to get an offroad with jumps bumps and all the ramps, we would have to make sure it flowed together nicely and not be to difficult at first, which would take time and a lot of elbow grease.
we've been there and done that before, the first couple of nights everyone is gung-ho and willing to help. after the first night of racing all the problems come up ,we need to change this or that. and nobody shows up to help, and 1,2, or 3 people wind up TRYING to do the work in 1 night and usually don't do much and we all kinda accept the track in it's condition and keep racing week after week.
for everyone to have fun on it we all need to get back out there the next week and change the face of the jumps so everyone can make it over them. or what ever needs to be done and make sure it's not to difficult for all.
i know an offroad track is supposed to be hard, but thinking that way has landed us up in the same condition EVERY time we try to start the offroad back up.
after a few races the only racers left are buggys racers.
NINJAZX7 06-30-2004, 11:37 PM as far as roar, i don't think any of us are very fond of it.
i dont think he did either, but i think it's donwfall has been is size, its so small its hard to come up with a good EASY layout, with all the stuff to make everyone happy.(jumps, bumps etc..)
B.A. Sanders 06-30-2004, 11:51 PM Hey fella's
That sucks that someone run off with your equipment from the track.
I want to come over sometime soon and race. Maybe your equipment
will show up soon.
NINJAZX7 06-30-2004, 11:51 PM i would like for the offroad to get going, but it will require a lot of work, and HELP.
NINJAZX7 06-30-2004, 11:55 PM heck i vote we whip the oval back in shape after all this rain, and call in a concrete truck!!
B.A. Sanders 06-30-2004, 11:59 PM WoW!!!!
b4wizard 07-01-2004, 12:02 AM ''''''''''''
NINJAZX7 07-01-2004, 12:03 AM if we did it would be self cleaning with all that banking.(wrecked cars would fall to the bottom) it would be awesome.
NINJAZX7 07-01-2004, 12:05 AM BR doesn't have a paved, or dirt oval?
you must have meant offroad.
i think indoor offroad is the way to go. that way the weather doesnt effect the track.
b4wizard 07-01-2004, 12:07 AM .......
B.A. Sanders 07-01-2004, 12:08 AM That's a good point B4
I've only been in this hobby for a short while and I haven't raced a
off-road track yet, but want to pretty bad. I checked one out in
Cullman, AL. Some of you guys may have been there. It looks pretty
cool. They run a lot of gas trucks there (good for me lol) But had some
electrics running 15 min. heats with a pit man changing batts-I heard
one got top qualifier running with gas trucks.
b4wizard 07-01-2004, 12:12 AM .......
NINJAZX7 07-01-2004, 12:12 AM IMO if our offroad had more room it may be a different story, when i was going to jackson i had a blast with a gas truck on offroad. big jumps lots of room in the turns. the cost of race entry, driving over there, and getting time off from work got old!!! QUICK!!
B.A. Sanders 07-01-2004, 12:15 AM I have a tech question.
What do you do with your suspension on off road tracks?
Do you run light oil and stiff springs, or heavy oil and soft springs.
OR vice-versa???
b4wizard 07-01-2004, 12:18 AM ......
b4wizard 07-01-2004, 09:45 AM .........
Rainey 07-01-2004, 12:33 PM You guys are more than welcome to run over here to jackson and run off-road. The electric track was reworked because alot of nitro guys started coming out to race. Eventually, the nitro track was "repaired" and the electric track was reduced back to normal size and racing has been great. Depending on weather/events going on around, we draw 6-10 stock trucks/buggies a weekend and the nitro is trying to get going good. Soetimes the nitro doesnt have enough to make classes so they run a combined dela with winners in each "class" getting credit. (Monster/ 10th/8th) We have a few guys who are pretty good about getting the tracks prepped but as always, could use more help. And another thing... you can slip over on Sunday (or any other day) and turn laps if the racing isnt what you want to do (on Saturday). And not forgetting the pavement... we do run touring cars and oval every weekend ... weather permitting.
Fell free to visit anytime.

Rainey 07-01-2004, 09:05 PM HAHA... if I thought it would help stop it... I would change it in a second! :jest:
actually comes from motorcycle days (i.e. Wayne Rainey.. World Superbikes)
b4wizard 07-02-2004, 12:07 AM ]]]]]]]
Rainey 07-02-2004, 09:30 AM not real sure if anyone is going. I have heard a few mention it. I mainly run on road but have recently got a T4 but have very little time on it. I don't think i'll make that trip just to have my butt handed to me on a plater.

b4wizard 07-02-2004, 09:02 PM ,,,,,,,,,
Rainey 07-03-2004, 10:03 AM B4.... don't take that last post of mine the wrong way. I am in this for the fUN of it and not scared to track it. I just wouldn't want to show up for a big race like the Cajun one and, only having about 2 minutes run time on the T4, screw up everyone elses fun. The "fun" aspect of this hobby is why i'm doing it.... Lord knows it's not for the "money"!
b4wizard 07-04-2004, 10:52 AM --------
Rainey 07-05-2004, 12:18 AM got into the hobby around last Sept. and raced for the first time around Nov. Been racing touring cars and trying to learn what to do/not do. Raced in "real life" for years but with job/family things these days... no time/money for the "real" stuff. But I can say that I am having alot of fun doing this..... never would have thought it would be this much fun.
One other thing... I like the fact that I can throw it on the seat of the truck and go (no trai;ers), when I need to work on it I dont have to jack it up and get on the ground to repair/adjust it( sit at the table in a chair) and it cost ALOT less to repair when I do break it( which is alot) compared to the "real " thing!!!
b4wizard 07-06-2004, 08:23 PM ''''''''''
Rainey 07-06-2004, 10:52 PM Concidering that i spent 10 years drag racing and then about 2-3 dirt racing..... I havn't found much that helps me turn to the right! :) But yes, I have noticed that alot of "real world" changes cause close to the same effect in rc. ( I knew I should have tried road racing... .then I would be alot better at touring cars)
As for this weekend... I know Ed would love a huge crowd. And the 1/8 buggies will be run... we usually have 3-4 every weekend. Some of those can really haul butt!
and good luck at the CCIV
b4wizard 07-06-2004, 11:24 PM =========
Rufus 07-07-2004, 10:25 AM you raced the last time I did I think, but anyway it has been a while. The track needs some major work, I hope we can hurry up and get it fixed. I would like to race again, soon. I would have been racing, but if there is mud in the infield, I dont race. And here lately it is always muddy.
Gotjuice? 07-07-2004, 10:43 AM What's going on this weekend in Sippi?
Patriot Racing 07-07-2004, 12:51 PM I've got someone building a new drag, but don't know when it will be ready. The rain we had yesterday did not help the track any. Ralph Walters came by the store this morning. He's living in Waycross, Ga, still racing every time he gets a chance. I will update on the track as soon as I know more. Alot of LST parts came in this morning, but still NO TRUCKS!!!!

Patriot Racing 07-08-2004, 02:22 PM Tim dropped off the new drag yesterday afternoon and all of a sudden the old drags resurfaced this morning. The guy how does the major dirt work is going by tomorrow to see if he can push the dirt and rebank the turns and straights like it was last year. If he says we need more dirt, I'll make some calls and get it coming asap. If the rain holds off we'll try to race Friday night.
Pearce Dickson
Rufus 07-08-2004, 05:02 PM B A and all you other Alabamians come on lets race!!!!!!!!! B A we are going to run gas so if you ant working lets go racing.
See yall
Ryan
B.A. Sanders 07-08-2004, 10:00 PM So you guys think you'll be racing tomorrow? I may try to see if
my boss man will let me leave early. If so, I'll call the hobby shop
tomorrow later on in the day to double check and see if you guys
are still planning to race. My crystals took a dump on me last
weekend and haven't come in yet. If I come may need to borrow
a couple (JR am radio)
Rufus 07-08-2004, 10:17 PM Hey B A It came a little shower. I dont know what it did to the track, But will let you know. See ya oh and on the crystals will see what we can do if we get to race
