To add one more thing about the Brushless mod motor class. That class is a stock truck mod motor class. So no one should be crying about which one is faster. If I want to run brushless I can run it if you want to runa $350 5 turn single run it. Everyone has to run for 5 min. That was the rule I thought for that class. Now let's not go trying to change them.

One more thing about the Brushless truck class... so that there is no confussion... I asked if I could start the class and asked if I could be given control of the rules to include the rules creation and their enforcement Make no mistake... the rules will not be change by committee, bitching or vote. This is NOT a power trip. It is the best way I know to make sure the rules are clear, enforced and fair for all racers. I promise the rules will not change from their current form unless I am convinced there is a need to level the playing field in some way. I also promise the rules will be enforced. Since there is little more at stake than bragging rights for a week anyway, I don't see why anyone would want to cheat. What victory is there in cheating to win if the only payout is pride in winning?

If you would like to see something changed in E-Truck, there should be little doubt about who to ask. I am always open to good suggestions. All racers in the E-Truck class should know that the rules are established, enforceable, fair to everyone and not going to change on a weekly basis.

Bill since you have taken charge of rules. Why not come up with something that we can post at the track or hand out. Put it in writing. That way there is no mistake. That would just take that argument out of the picture.

I think all any one is saying is if a particular mod motor just blows the field away that is not fare to anyone including the other brushed motors, The class is to keep everyone competitive and be a little faster than stock and just a little work to race.

Look for all I care I think every class should be unlimited! But this is really the only electric class that a beginner could get in and be competitive with out spending a fortun and knowing how to cut a com. We need a class like this for the people that are not very experienced, a good motor and speedo and you are in and runnig pretty dang fast.

I am not bias and I am buying the matt francis 2 and going to run in e truck, i will be runnig a mod, that is what i already have, but for the 4 or 5 people that have a brushless I do not think it fare to them, to just get smoked, if someone is beat by set up thats ok that is fare if you pull someone 5 links down the straights, that is not exactly fare.

Why don't we all get us some trucks and run and see just how much fun it is. I am sure that everyone will be pretty competitive and some thing else for us to race, besides I do not think that anyone will just get screwwd that is why we discuss good and bad!

the reason Alex is in buggy is because the buggy(B4) is ready and drives neutral, good traction on both ends. i prefer to drive the truck.and its all out of wack

Tommy i guess you started in rc knowing how to drive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In what way Tommy

jones

Brushless isn't going to be fast enough! Just anyone who races in it needs to realize it will cost money. To be fast and keep the hottest batt's

Rufus
06-02-2004, 11:58 PM
Tommy do you see how fast my gas truck is, that is what I like too much speed! I just like mod anything! One person can run more than one class I think more than 5 in any class is plenty, Now I know that bill wants more than 10 in every class so we can run 2 sets of heats, but I also think we should enough to keep all classes with plenty of cars and enough classes to give everyone an oppertunity in there favorite class

1. All ROAR off road truck rules apply. This is a somewhat meaningless rule since rule 2 is more restrictive. Compliance with ALL of these ROAR rules is covered by rule #2.
2. You must run factory parts for the truck you are running.
3. You may run Novak SS5800 brushless or any brushed motor.

Josh,

At the risk of quoting myself, the rules are repeated above. It seems like there should be more but this is it. These rules will not change until it is clear that racing is no longer fair. By that I mean that if it becomce clear, over time, that the brushless is not competitive, steps will be taken to see that it can win. It is important to notice that I didn't say will win but can win. As it is now there is no brushed motor winding limitations. Any ROAR legal mod brushed motor may be run. If you have a 12x2 PLEASE run it. If after months of racing it becomes apparent that the brushless motors are not able to compete, something will have to be done to level the playing field. I cannot tell you what that will be or even if it will ever be necessary but it should be clear to all, that it is in the best interest of all competitors that the racing be based on fair, stable over time, and enforced rules. Just like NASCAR the rules may have to be adjusted so that the racing is fair to all.

Please remember that there was NO E-Truck oval racing when we started the brushless truck class. E-Trucks had not run on the oval for many months and I think it was because the class was just too similar to the ROAR stock buggy class. Many folks had trucks that they weren't running and it seemed like the Novak was a good way to have some very close racing. Including mod brushed motors just adds to the challange.

I get the feeling I will know I have it just about right when both the brushed and brushless folks think they are being cheated!:)

Tommy I think you are over thinking the situation, get a truck and we will run, if it is fun who cares it is not like we a running for money, I mean dont get me wrong I want to win BAD at anything I do. Lets just race! You are a very good driver I do not see you at any disadvantage!
