View Full Version : Mississippi Racers Thread Rufus 09-14-2004, 11:32 PM It is still a great looking truck, JJ ran real good, he is going to be real tough! Already pretty dang strong! Gotjuice? 09-15-2004, 08:39 AM We will start racing on Sundays at 2:00 starting this weekend(the 19th). We will be on the Dirt and Concrete this weekend. I hope after this storm some of ya'll can make it over on a dirt night and Race. Tony If you need anything just call me @339-4950 jones 09-15-2004, 01:58 PM JJd4. Ya I'm having all sorts of problems with my MGt. It seems like every time I Get it going something happens. I changed shocks and got it running and went over everything I thought! Playing around with it and notice my engine moving around! Dern screw that hold the engine mount on fell out! Down to one screw! I would really like to see your truck. I hate I couldn't make it friday. I'm just now able to remember what I done from hour to hour! Been on so many pain pill's! I should be able to start take out my stiches today or so! I Just hope I didn't hurt my engine from running it at 320's. I don't want to have to buy another engine. I hate spending money. Thats why I got rid of the Excursion. Looking for a project truck!!! You know what I mean! Oh I think the MGT would have more of a sweet bland taste to it. I hope the track doesn't get washed away. To hear them talk on the radio it sounds like we might get blown off the map. Mr Electric 09-15-2004, 02:56 PM Tommy, let me know some specifics on the Jackson race, start time, classes etc. You pit outside when you go? Michael can't go, but I'm thinking seriously about going. mclake 09-15-2004, 03:58 PM Yea you would know that its the only time that I get to goto the beach, heck I might not have a play to stay down there next week just going to have to see what Ivan brings. We are going to race dirt Sunday yall head on over and let have a little racing at T-town, later guys. Lake wjvail 09-15-2004, 06:28 PM Got a question with the brushless trucks can we run any type of brushless system? Lake Mike... we only allow the Novak SS5800. That rule was a little hard to make since I have several Hacker systems I'm not using right now. At 220.00 the Novak system is a very good value and it would not be in the best interest of racing to find out the Lehner, Hacker Averx or any other system was the "one" to have. It would not help racing for folks with "better sponsers" to try a new brushless system every week until no one else could compete. At 220 to 380 for a brushless system playing the motor a week game would be VERY expencive. I realise this in NOT a rule ROAR could/would make. It would not sit well with other manufactures. It IS a rule that has worked well for us. The good news is, if you have a Novak you have what everyone else has. The bad news is that if you are not fast enough you will have to find something other than a new motor to go faster.:) ;) I and Pearce run a Matt Fransis with the Novak SS5800... Ryan runs a MF-2 Novak SS5800. Clint runs a XXX-T and a Novak SS5800. Great racing with you last Friday... Bill Vail b4wizard 09-15-2004, 08:53 PM Scott, It's an outdoor racetrack. I would say if you got there by 8:00am, you could get signed up, and do a little practice before the races start. I think at 10:00. He has plenty of power outlets for you to plug the trailor to. I'm going for sure and a couple of others from Meridian said they would, but we'll see. Its always alot of fun to go to bigger races. I know off-road would be a little different for ya, but in the end, it makes the oval easier. Let me know what your gonna do and you can follow or go with me or I can go with you. B.A. Sanders 09-15-2004, 10:06 PM Good luck to all the next couple of days. Mr Electric 09-17-2004, 09:21 AM Tommy,It looks like Michael may be going also. He's in Tuscaloosa, I'm in Centreville. MAN ,be there at 8:00, CRAP! May go the night before. They have stock classes or is it mod? mclake 09-17-2004, 10:08 AM Yea Tommy we need to know a little about what classes they run and stuff like that. Are you going to try and come to T-town Sunday and race with us? Lake b4wizard 09-17-2004, 09:49 PM Scott & mclake, I know they will have stock classes for sure, buggy and truck. Don't know if they will have mod classes. Usually depends on the out of town people. I'll call SmallCars tommorrow and find out the start time and all that for sure. I'll let you know something. They will have gas monster truck to. It's kindly a toss up between that and 8th scale buggies. O yea, I just don't know about the Sunday deal. I really liked it on Saturday night. I usually do the wife thing on Sundays. And if I came, I would have to wait for the ones that would want to go to, to get out of church. Sort of some of the reason he waited until 2:00 to start. I think some of the reason he changed was for the turnout, but I'm not sure that will fix it. I hope for the racing it does for sure. Ya'll have a racy little joint and super nice folks. I would sure like to come over though. Tommy  mclake 09-18-2004, 08:37 AM Thanks Tommy, we were really wanting to make sure that they run stock. I don't like running MOD. That sound good just let us know everything that you know and have a great weekend. How did you do Friday night? Lake b4wizard 09-18-2004, 11:30 AM We didn't run Friday night. Alot of people still cleaning up after the storm, I guess. I'm about 20 miles south of Meridian, and for whatever reason, it wasn't as bad as it was in Meridian. A lot of trees and power lines down. Some people still without power Friday afternoon. But hopefully everyone is ok, haven't heard much. b4wizard 09-18-2004, 04:54 PM Scott & mclake, and whoever else thats interested Talked to Ed at SmallCars, sign-up closes at 10:00, races start at 11:00 He also said that the Sprint cars would run also. But I don't think that means buggies mixed in with them. Have to ask when you get there. $10 first class, $7.50 second class. Will race for ribbons to keep costs down on entry fees. Sounds like a winner to me. Tommy Gotjuice? 09-20-2004, 07:32 AM Do they run oval on the dirt Tommy? Rainey 09-20-2004, 12:52 PM Juice.... Small Cars does run oval but it isnt like the one in Meridian. What they have done is created an oval out side of the small off-road track. They move 2 pieces of pipe and run oval and then replace then and have the off road course. Track is flat but their is talk of adding banking in the near future. jones 09-20-2004, 03:57 PM Rainey did you get my email? Email me and tell me what you think! I'm open to ideas. I would like to help you out. Rainey 09-20-2004, 06:02 PM Yeah Jones, I got it and emailed you back. I havn't been around much.... Dad is in hospital and i have been with him most of the time. kinda got everything on hold right now. Haven't had time to do anything. junkman0815 09-20-2004, 06:59 PM pearce we may make the trip been saying that for a while this time i think its true b4wizard 09-20-2004, 11:33 PM Tony, Rainey about covered it all. The only other thing that I could add was when I was there last it was sprint cars and 19 turn. When I talked to Ed last Saturday, he informed me that they were running also. One turn actually looked like it was off camber. It has 5 turns, all different. Looked fun Scott, check pm's Tommy Gotjuice? 09-21-2004, 07:30 AM Is there going to be racing in Meridian this weekend? Just wanting to know before we plan another trip. Tony Gotjuice? 09-21-2004, 09:03 PM I really need to know if there will be enough coming to race this Friday night. I'm hoping to bring 3 guys with me. Tony Rufus 09-21-2004, 09:17 PM Im racing e truck for sure ryan jones 09-22-2004, 09:03 AM Is there going to be racing in Meridian friday night? Who all from Meridian is going to Jackson Sat? jones 09-22-2004, 11:12 AM B4 did JJd4 get what he needed from me? LOL Gotjuice? 09-22-2004, 06:55 PM Looks like 2 buggies and a E-Truck for us Alabama boys. We will see ya'll Friday night. Tony(onebadwedgie)Brothers b4wizard 09-22-2004, 10:04 PM jones, What are you talking about? The only ones from Meridian from what I've heard that may go, is jones, jjd4?, and myself. Haven't heard from Casey in a while. You know I usually don't race the night before a Saturday race. Probally be all day Saturday, don't want it to be like the last BR trip.....to much r/c for one weekend. But I'm going regardless of what other folks do. I'm going by the LHS Thursday to get my stuff, hope it all came in. I did find one other cool item I got to get them to order for me. It's from Trinity. Tommy mclake 09-23-2004, 08:57 AM Tommy we are just counting the days and they are few, we are leaving Tuscaloosa about 2ish and going to get some run time in Friday afternoon I have NEVER run offroad so this is new to me, got to get there and see what the weekend is going to be like. You just going to come over Sat. Lake b4wizard 09-23-2004, 09:42 AM mclake, Yea, just for Saturday. Just one thing to remember start a little short on gear and just make laps. Adjust the gear when you get use to the track. If they haven't changed the track, I ran 23/84 on my B4. Tommy  mclake 09-23-2004, 09:48 AM Thanks Tommy I will give that a shot, I will have to figure it out for a Losi though, I don't run NO stinking associated, lol. Lake jones 09-23-2004, 11:36 AM Radio equipment. B4 We talked and I know that i am going. I need to go to th hs and get some stuff. what did you get. I wish i had a batt charger! Oh well i'll be a bum. b4wizard 09-23-2004, 04:01 PM mclake, That's OK if you have a Losi, just follow in Scott's tracks.lol jones, It's top knotch off the hook stuff. Everybody should have one or a couple. Tommy :jest: Ralph Walters 09-23-2004, 04:06 PM Tommy, can't make it this time, maybe we can hook up next time I come that way. mclake 09-23-2004, 04:48 PM Yea its been that way in truck for a while but thats about to change, lol. See you in Sippi and its not at the oval. Lake I can't wait to run that Savage I got the iching for some NITRO truck! jones 09-23-2004, 04:51 PM You bought what I ordered! Now I have to wait again! He's back down to one! I thought that was funny. I think I am going to wait till friday to get what i need. I think I need some tires. I'm looking foward to doing some offroad racing. Might even take the Mgt, Although I need to replace alot of stuff. I took the glow plug out and closed my eyes and turn the engine over and couldn't tell where top or bottom was. Doesn't that mean just add more nitro and lean it out more? i'm going to take it probably. jones 09-23-2004, 04:54 PM I think the running it at 320's hurt it alittle. Slider 09-23-2004, 05:47 PM Thanks Tommy I will give that a shot, I will have to figure it out for a Losi though, I don't run NO stinking associated, lol. Lake Mclake What is that Nascar? it ain't no LOSI. Couldn't resist.Be cool Michael  mclake 09-23-2004, 07:40 PM Oh Slider you got on that one, that was a good one mad I was really not raging on Associated really just kinda playing they are both good car/truck its all in the driver. Lake B.A. Sanders 09-23-2004, 08:47 PM Hey Bill Vail. Ya out there? I'm looking for a gallon of your fuel. I'm going to try to catch Tony before he goes. PM me. Thanks, brent B.A. Sanders 09-23-2004, 10:51 PM Hey Ryan, If Bill dosen't see this, can you get up with him. I'd like a gallon of his fuel. Got some T-town guys coming over tomorrow. Thanks, Brent Rufus 09-23-2004, 11:32 PM no problem, Ill take care of it. see ya Ryan jones 09-24-2004, 08:57 AM Is Meridian racing tonight? T-town guys, Are ya'll coming over and just staying in a motel somewhere for sat in Jackson? b4wizard 09-24-2004, 09:47 AM I took the glow plug out and closed my eyes and turn the engine over and couldn't tell where top or bottom was. Doesn't that mean just add more nitro and lean it out more? . That means put a sleeve in it.lol Tommy jones 09-24-2004, 11:21 AM True! Haven't thought about just putting a sleeve in. Question for some one. What does it mean when your pull start doesn't want to catch? Does it mean I have not enough grease or to much grease or the grease is dirty. I never use the pull start but I just noticed it would not catch every time. Plus, how do you tell when you need clutch shoes? Also, is your clutch bell supouse to turn colors? Is it normal for the bell to go from silver to blue orange red black mainly blue. I'm new to this gas stuff and don't have a clue what is normal or not. Thank's Gotjuice? 09-24-2004, 12:33 PM Some T-Town boys are racing in Meridian tonight and some are going to Jackson tonight to practice and run Saturday. I'm going to Meridian at 2 O'Clock with 2 other racers. Scott and Mike are heading to Jackson. I hope Meridian has a good turnout tonight. Tony Ralph Walters 09-24-2004, 01:30 PM Jones, the last thing you want is pinch in the piston/ sleeve. Put the plug back in and turn the engine over by hand and see if its got good compresson. It should have a good snap to it. Taking the plug out and turning it serves no purpose. A blue clutch bell means that it has been slipping and over heated, It is possible that it got grease on it from the brgs. I don't know what clutch your running so it is hard to say what caused it, it could be alot of things. jones 09-24-2004, 01:51 PM Thank's. I had been told that you wanted alittle pinch. But Like I said I don't know. my clutch has three shoes and three little springs they are black in color. I took the bell off and cleaned it up real good. The shoes did have alittle bit of black hard stuff on it. I just couldn't tell because I never looked at it new. I might buy new clutch shoes and bell. should I need springs? When I put the glow plug in it has compression. You can tell it's just alittle free. It doesn't take a whole lot of force to turn ove but you do fell a stiff spot. Oh well I guess I might ought to fix it. jones 09-24-2004, 01:55 PM tony I have been trying to decide weither or not to race tonight. I need to get everything togather for Jackson. Although I would like to come and race with you. Although if I race monster truck sat I have to replace alot of stuff tonight. I can't decide. Gotjuice? 09-24-2004, 02:06 PM Well get the truck ready now and come race tonight. make it a H-ll weekend. I remember racing in Meridian on Friday, tuscaloosa on Saturday and montgomery on Sunday. We had a blast doing it to. Tony jones 09-24-2004, 03:08 PM So, you are going coming tonight and jackson. I think ya'll will like jackson. It's diffrent. we should have a good turn out if just the one that say they are going go. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
