I think if I get my car setup we might be able to run 6.0 lap times in stock. I think last weekend I pulled off one 6.3 the rest where 6.4-6.5's. But if memory serves me right you were running 6.3 on the old track. I myself need new batt's and a charger! Rainey 09-02-2004, 03:18 PM I'm sorry I haven't been back intouch. had church last night. I teach a class of 1-6 grade boys so I was dead tired last night. I'll make sure I have everything and get on tonight. no problem... LOL ... I know how hard they can be on you... been there myself. I want a rolling chassis but someone else over here is interested in the other buggy. May just need to get a price for the whole package...... Gotjuice? 09-02-2004, 03:28 PM Jones you are right. 6.3's were turned on the old track. What did ya'll do to the track? yes I hope to run some good laps with the new setup under the car but with the track changes ya'll might have slowed me down.LOL I hope the weather will hold out it is getting old trying to get over there. forcast great til 2 hours before I leave. How fast are the Trucks on the new track. Need some lap times to set the truck up for. Hold on hurricane I need some racing time in meridian. I'll post Friday ya or na as soon as I can and maybe old Tommy can even come down and play with that buggy of his. Tony jones 09-02-2004, 05:24 PM 0000000000000000000 b4wizard 09-02-2004, 07:59 PM Maybe Pierce will post the current records. It's Pearce :jest: jones 09-02-2004, 10:25 PM 0000000000000000 jones 09-02-2004, 10:27 PM 00000000000 NINJAZX7 09-02-2004, 10:50 PM even though it's a holiday weekend we are still going to race , weather permitting. hope to see everyone at the track friday evening. jones 09-03-2004, 01:09 PM 00000000000000 Gotjuice? 09-04-2004, 07:33 AM All right one heat and BAM 39w/4:04 with a little misting rain. I wish we could have ran more. Oh and yes there were 3 buggys on the track. Well I got to clean my stufff for tonight. Oh ya thanks for the Beers. Guys I'll be back when I can. Really enjoyed talking and racing with ya'll again. Tony(onebadwedgie)Brothers Ralph Walters 09-06-2004, 09:36 AM Tommy, Whats the deal, hav'nt heard from you. b4wizard 09-06-2004, 05:22 PM Ralph, Haven't been anywhere. Seems its always raining on the weekend. Was thinking about this coming weekend but they are having the on-road,oval regionals. But I hope to go the 18th and most definetly the 25th. I don't really know what to say about the regionals. I know you can run in them. I would imagine the track will be as it is now. Soft with fluff. With enough cars on it the lanes may clean off. I hope they keep it damp or it will be a dust bowl. Seems people were running the kit tires that come on most 8th scale RTR's. Nothing with really small pins. I know you don't want to come for a low turnout. But its up to you. I know guys are coming from Florida and Alabama to run the touring car and the oval next weekend, the 11th, so I don't look for anyone to be turned away. It's gonna be a good time. Ralph Walters 09-06-2004, 06:12 PM Ok, I let you know what I'm going to do, gotta speak with the boss. Gotjuice? 09-07-2004, 09:54 AM Going to try and make it again this weekend. Need donations for the gas.LOL Tony wjvail 09-07-2004, 10:05 AM Leave the rain! What are you going to run? Bill Vail Gotjuice? 09-07-2004, 02:25 PM Buggy and truck,I hope Bill. jones 09-07-2004, 04:28 PM 000000000000000000000 jones 09-07-2004, 04:36 PM 0000000000000000000 b4wizard 09-07-2004, 06:38 PM I checked the temp 334 ya! It was somewhere between 329-334 but was running great. do ya'll think that's alittle to hot or is that where ya'll tune ya'll to, I'm running the blue thunder 20% I'd like to try 30%. Whatcha think? Loose the Blue thunder and run Bill's fuel. I believe his is 25%, but he can do whatever you want. I don't know about the temp. on a .21, but that seems hot for anything. Usually 190-250 is where you need to be. The Blue Thunder is good for ant beds. Ralph Walters 09-08-2004, 09:24 AM If you are running a .21 and you want to go to 30% you need to add 1 .10 head shim, you take a big chance of detonation if you don't, Blue Thunder is bad to detonate as I used to run that fuel and stopped because of that. As far as temps go, anything under 200 is bad as you will just accelerate the wear due to lack of expantion of the cylinder. Try to get it in the 225 to 240 range, if you run offroad you would rely more on the bottom to help hold a consistant temp, if you run oval you need to look more at the top to hold temp. you will also find that the more nitro content you run the cooler the engine will run. 25% is what most .21's are set for at the factory. so if you run that you will not need to add a head shim. Also a factor is what glow plug you use. Most run a medium temp plug [rb6][mccoy9] etc. wjvail 09-08-2004, 10:05 AM Josh... all of what Ralph said is spot on. Also... I would caution you not to tune your engine for a temp and then look at the performance but to do it the other way round. That is, set up your engine so it idles and pulls well and then look at the temp. As Ralph said you should find that it is around 240... Thanks Tommy for the fuel recommendation. Josh... most folks find that my fuel runs better than most when the motor is tuned rich. Put another way, if your motor is set on the rich side it will make better than average power and still be running cool. Other fuels I've mixed and tried needed the mixture to be very close to optimal (close to full lean) to make good power and idle well. To be clear... I'm not SELLING or PUSHING fuel. I've always said, and will say again, if you don't like my fuel or would just prefer to run something else I'm OK with that. I only sell fuel because I started mixing it for myself before Pearce opened North Hills Hobby and some of my friends started asking me to mix for them. I'm very happy other like it. If you'd like to try my fuel first without buying a gallon, come and see me at the track. Bring a container for a few tanks of fuel. One last thing. My go-to plug is an OS #8. Yes there is the right tool for the right job and sometimes other plugs are a better choice but I ALWAYS start with an OS 8. I can't tell you the number of times putting a new OS 8 in a motor has fixed an engine that won't idle or accelerate. The OS 8 is considered a hot plug but seems to hold up fairly well in racing conditions. It's what I'm running in my XXX-NT/Pixy .12 and I haven't changed the plug in 5 or 6 weeks. Bill Vail Ralph Walters 09-08-2004, 10:37 AM Don't forget long and short reach plugs. jones 09-09-2004, 02:01 PM 000000000000000000000 jones 09-09-2004, 02:06 PM 00000000 Ralph Walters 09-09-2004, 03:31 PM If you are running a OS engine then a #8 is correct. If you are running an Italian engine, RB, NR or Picco then you need a long reach plug. The OS is a short reach and if put in a Italian engine it will effect the compression. Gotjuice? 09-09-2004, 03:59 PM Well It is looking good for Friday. Should be at the track around 5:30. I hope everyone can come race. Hate to come over and not have enough buggies to run. Time to turn up the wick boys. Tony(onebadwedgie)Brothers jones 09-09-2004, 04:40 PM 00000000000000 jones 09-09-2004, 04:42 PM 0000000000000 jones 09-09-2004, 04:55 PM Ralph, where do you race @? Where are you located? Are you in the Atlanta area? I go to north Atlanta a good bit and have been told that there is a pretty good place to race some where around there. mclake 09-09-2004, 04:55 PM A few more Alabama boys coming to run E-Truck and Monstor truck. Hope that yall have them motors and batteries how because we are comeing to take home the gold. Lake Ralph Walters 09-09-2004, 05:48 PM I live in Waycross Ga, I race all over the country so I really don't have a home track. There are two tracks that I like in and around the Atlanta area, one is called the Sugar Bowl and it is north of Atlanta, the other is Rodslingers and it is south of Atlanta around Griffin Ga. If you get a chance go to the Suger Bowl as it is top notch and alot of fast racers there, I'm sure you will have a good time. I started racing in Meridian Ms. wjvail 09-09-2004, 08:08 PM Lots of trash talk'n going on! Could be a Smack down for the Meridian folks.:) On the other hand, it's tough to come to someones home track and not look silly.:p We'll know Saturday morning.:D Bill Vail wjvail 09-09-2004, 08:25 PM Juice like I said I won't be there. So maybe you can run 46 laps or 50 laps or 60 laps or 70 laps or 80 laps. I have been told no one ran that night in order to break or place any records. :o The drinking must have got real heavy! :jest: All right. I'll put an end to this. You're right. We didn't run any heats. Clint and I ran some E-Truck but that was it. On the drinking part... No one had more than 3 beers over the 3 or 4 hours. I was watching... not that I'm anyones dad. We decided it was just too easy to give you a ribbing at poping off about having the track record (that no one will likely beat) after beating Casy and Alex. I know Tony just ment to have some fun. Friday is a new night for prizes, fame and glory! Or at least bragging rights for a week! Your track record still stands. Buggy 37 + something Josh E-Truck 38 + something Ryan G-Truck 54 + something Clint M-Truck 38 + something Ryan Bill Vail wjvail 09-09-2004, 08:34 PM Could I add one more thing about this dam track record thing... It means aboslutly positivly... nothing. It takes the PERFECT conditions to set a track record. That means very few or no other cars on the track, perfect track bite, other divers that are willing to let you by, and last but not least, OK dirving. I only mention this because I've seen this quest for the golden "track record" ruin racing. Please try and focus on winning a race with many other good drivers. Focus on beating your (many) friends in a good race for a weeks bragging rights. If you start chasing "track records" you have no choice but to hope for 3 in your class and that 2 crash out... and that means... nothing. No one will never set a track record with 10 cars on the track. With any luck we'll have some killer racing this weekend with 20 entered in each class and that is NOT what it takes to set a track record. Bill Vail wjvail 09-09-2004, 09:32 PM I'll add one more thing. There are 3 QUALIFIERS but only 1 RACE. By that I mean you have 3 chances to qualify as best you can but only need to win the main be the race winner. We will ALL qualify better if we are courteous to others. If you catch me in a qualifier you can be sure I'll let you by. I'll have a better chance of making the A main if you don't hit me trying to pass me. At the very most I'll lose .2 sec letting you by. If you hit me I'll losse much more. In the mains I may make you follow me to get a chance to pass me.;) Since we often only have enough folks for 1 main, we tend to think of it as 4 races. If we ran a C main every night we would be forced to think of it as 3 qualifers and a main. Only the fella that wins the A main gets the trophy and gets his picture with the pretty girls. Bill Vail b4wizard 09-09-2004, 10:55 PM The track records should only be from what someone runs in the mains. It should'nt come from the qualifiers. Ain't that when your supposed to run your best, in the mains. Why should we call it a track record when your just trying for a good starting position in the main. Thats the only reason for qualifiers. Or is everyone down at the track just to run 4 A-mains. Maybe ya'll should go to another system and base the winner on average finish in each qualifer(main). I agree with Bill on the track record thing. hmmmmm....somewhat. Before the last track change, when I had set the record, lol, it came with eight cars on the track. So I wasn't setting there just making laps, had to drive a little. But that was then. It seems theres a couple only interested in track records or that one blazing fast throw the rules out the window run over everyone in the way single lap. Did someone say pretty girls. I've been gone to long. :jest: wjvail 09-10-2004, 09:41 AM Before the last track change, when I had set the record, lol, it came with eight cars on the track. So I wasn't setting there just making laps, had to drive a little. That is impressive and deserves credit. I didn't mean to take away from that. That was also back in the old school days when we didn't really put much emphases on the record. Yea folks knew there was one... some could tell you who held it and fewer could tell you what it was. Folks were more focused on winning their main. Everyone could tell you who won the race (and there is only 1 race) What I've noticed lately is that folks are not being very courteous in the qualifiers so they can set the new track record. Sort-of-a get out of my way... I'm trying for a new track record way of thinking and that is not good for racing. It really isn't as bad as I'm making is sound but I wanted to comment before this "track record" thing got out of hand. Winning the race is the thing. There is only one race winner in a night even if someone sets a new TR in a qualifier. If you hold the track record you may not be the person to beat... you may only be the person that got lucky enough to run a heat by yourself. If someone runs more than 54 laps in gas truck Friday night, ALL the credit should go to whoever prepares the track and the OTHER drivers running for getting out of the way because without that, the trucks are running around 48 laps. How many points does NASCAR, FIA, IRL, CART, ARCA, SCCA, IHRA ... pay for setting a new track record? Yea... we got trophy girls from JJs. You didn't know? Bill Vail Gotjuice? 09-10-2004, 09:42 AM Well Bill couldn't take it any longer Jones. He had to let the cat out of the bag. If we didn't like you we wouldn't mess with ya.LOL. it rained on us all the way home. I always have a ball over there racing but I race as hard as I can every time I put my car on the track when I'm in someone elses backyard. When my car isn't as good as someones I'll let them go in a HEAT but my car might get alittle wide in the main. As for track records everything has to be right. Track records are what the out of town people use to work towards because if some has gone that fast, the night they are there it might happen again. Track records are made to be broke also. That's what the fast guys shoot for at some tracks. So if your a fast guy break them or push the guy in front of you so he can. Tony PS. See ya tonight Gotjuice? 09-10-2004, 09:48 AM BEER,BABES and racing WOW Gotjuice? 09-11-2004, 07:51 AM Well I was all talk and no show. Sorry guys when I got home yesterday Susan's (my wife) grandfathers house had perimetics at it due to he had past away. I hope the racing was great and could someone post the results. Tony Mr Electric 09-11-2004, 11:21 AM Hey guys, we had a ball last night. Thanks for the hosptality. Hard to believe I set the TRACK RECORD in buggy with a stock setup the first time I ran my B4 , two words, GOT JUICE! I mean with a little setup tweekin' and a good motor and batt I'm looking for 38 laps easy, heck maybe 39. Scott b4wizard 09-11-2004, 11:36 AM Tony, Sorry for your loss yesterday, prayers to the family for the tough times ahead. As for the racing, in stock, it was only a race for second as Scott checked out. He was turinig 6.3's and the others were turning 6.5's at best. So you know the rest of the story. He did however set the "NEW" track record at 37Laps-4.00.99. Man thats close to 38. I don't think he bettered that in the main. In a word he was flying. You better watch your back, he's coming fast. In all it was a good night for all the classes. Scott, What kind of bulb's do you use? 1156 or 1157. At this point I'll try anything. Tommy Gotjuice? 09-11-2004, 11:43 AM Well at least I own the Juice part of the record.LOL I wish I could have been there. b4wizard 09-11-2004, 11:47 AM He must have the "TEAM JUICE". I have the regular "JUICE". lol But seriuosly, I believe its my batteries. Gone flat. I think that 7 amps have got the best of them. Rufus 09-11-2004, 02:00 PM I wanted to let yall know that I had a great time last night and I am glad that we had some company. Sorry bout the smack in the first turn Pearce, but I had to go cause you and Bill were going to out run me. Didnt mean to get into you quite that much, but what goes around comes around, so I know I will get it back. Tony I am very sorry to here about the loss in your family. My prayers go out to you and your family! See ya Ryan vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
