From what I heard today in Jackson, the 19turn sprint cars will be
back next week. They really like the track.

It wasn't until you mentioned this that I noticed that I didn't comment on their race in my Aug 6 recap. Sorry about the oversight. I hope noone felt slighted. I just waited too long to post and those brain cells must have quit sparking.:p

Bill,
You got a pm.
I didn't know how many sprints came the other Friday night.
Saw them run in Jackson Saturday afternoon, looked like fun on their oval.
It has 5 turns. Like Pocono. All flat.
They were talking about how much they like the track in Meridian
and are wanting to come back this coming weekend. They are really getting into making the rollbars on the chassis. One guy had one he had just made, it was low profile. It looked sweet.

I'm surprised you wanted to run buggy. You usually don't for some reason.
You do a good job with the racing updates.
Tommy

Ralph, check your pm's.

Are you going to race Friday night if it don't rain. Is Casey still if Florida. Said he might be there for ten days.
Cruiser said he would come to run stock. I told him I would to for that or 19 turn.
Do you want to run 19 turn.

looking around and found this.lol

i dont think it's possible to put down any extra power in racing conditions. it may rank right up there with the "supercharger" RB concepts came out with.
it may be useful to play with in a parking lot.

I'm looking at coming if the weather holds out. I'd like to run my new XXXT,
but it's an RTR and I don't know if there is a class, I think you guys run mod.
But nontheless, I'll run my nt. I'll check with you guys later in the week.

The side of our company trucks say "The Weather isn't Dependable, So we have to be"

B. A... Please bring your E-Truck. If you have a truck that's ready to go but lacks a mod motor, we'll find a motor to put in it! Your batteries and speed control and we WILL find a motor. Just let me know. My motors needs to be cut and new brushes.

Tommy, find out for me, seeing as you are an X Roar rep, if i will be able to run in the regional race in jackson, I just ran in the #4 regionals and they raised a stink because I am from region 3, TQ upset them. I do not care about the title and I want to run it but Roar has so many petty rules I don't want to travel that distance just to be told I can't run.
Thanks,
Ralph

b4wizard
08-25-2004, 05:48 PM
Ralph,
By ROAR rules you are not supposed to since you ran in another region. You can run one class at one regional and another class at another regional. Its up to you though. I dont think Ed would say anything, but you can't never tell. Usually the only ones that say anything are the trophy hunters. I let you know more later. That may be confusing.

Ninjaz, I have everything ready to go. If it looks good, I'll leave work around 3pm.

Rainey
08-25-2004, 06:59 PM
Ralph and Tommy.... I don't think Ed will care about all of the ROAR stuff. Most of the people that race at SMU do it for the fun and don't even keep up with the region stuff. As for trophy hunters... don't think that will happen either. After the last "big trophy "race, I heard that some complained about the "extra" entry price for trophies so the next one will be at regular price and run for ribbons, like normal. I say come on and race... the more the merrier!

Rainey

b4wizard

Rainey,
Are you saying for the Regionals, he's giving ribbons instead of trophies. You got to be joking. The regionals are supposed to mean a little something to racers. No matter what the cost. I figure if someone is upset about the price of admission, how upset would they be if Ed wasn't having them. They would be setting around saying Ed never does anything to draw a crowd. And the regionals and state races are supposed to be crowd drawers.

Ralph,
I would call Ed. Just to make sure. I might go see him this weekend. If I do I'll let you know something by Sunday.
From what I've heard, it's up to him if he wants to be the ROAR guy.
That coming from a friend in the ROAR office.
The only real problem I can see with you running the regionals, is if you won region 4. How did that turn out. You know what I would say if it was up to me. C'mon over.

One other thing,
I know there's alot of people running gas in Louisiana, 1/8th scale, and they have a league or points thing going, and if they are not racing somewhere they will probally be there.

Tommy

When I got home yesterday, I had a flyer in the mail from SMU about the races. In small print under the race info it said something like " we had a vote at the regional race and everyone wanted to run for ribbons" so the price would be $10.00 for first class and $7.50 for each additional instead of the higher prices. I didn't get to make that race so I didn't know about the vote. I had heard that it was going to be a ribbon race but that was the first "official" word i had gotten that it was true.

On-road Sept 11th .. reg before 10:00 races @ 11:00

Off-road Sept 25th... same times

rain date the following weekend for each

Rainey,
That's good and all.....
Surely the ribbon will have something stating that's it's a regional race.
It don't really matter though.....It's all about having fun.
If the weather holds out Saturday, I'll see ya'll then.

Rainey,
Did ya'll get to race Saturday. Started to come over, but it began to rain here about 12:30, and didn't want to chance it. Hopefully will see ya this weekend. Gotta get some practice before the regionals. Working on bringing two gas guys that have monster trucks, to the dance.

The only people I know that may have a used B3 is Pearce. You may want to call him and see. The other person is jones. You can pm him. Do you need a whole car or just part of one.

Rainey
08-29-2004, 10:56 PM
I didn't try to race but stopped by for a few minutes. 6 classes were running and they were running the 2nd race of the first round of heats when I left. I ran into a big rainstorm not long after leaving and it was moving towards the tracks' direction. Havn't heard from anyone who was there but I looked at the radar and south jackson was covered with rain. If it rain half as hard as what i drove through, it was a wash.

as for the B3... rolling chassis would be good. I could get racing quick with that but still thinking on a "purpose-built" one later. (parts....i.e tranny)
