Boy you people are really going at it, the fact of the matter is that the track is a Roar Track. Therefor it must abide by Roar rules. Having no outside wall on a oval is kind of crazy, all it takes is one car going at light speed to jump the track and take someones head off and thats it, its over, lawsuits will insue. If you don't follow the rule then the insurance that you pay for is nogood. Roar will not honor it. I know nobody wants to see anyone get hurt and the track stay open. Just keep in mind that Roar dos"nt give a rats ass about the racer, or for the track either. They only support the manufactor, it used to not be like that but it is now, they want your money, its sad.

it was a totally different truck(performance) than was getting broke in last friday night. Ryan ran alot of 6.1 laps!!!!!!! yes a monster truck ran a 6.1 lap.
it was amazing to see something so big, move so fast.

Thanks for the comps guys, I had a blast, until the rear end let go, But I ll have it ready next week. The track was awesome, 3 classes ran and 3 new records. Clint broke the gas truck record by 4 laps and lap times were amazing. The professor Bill Vail cut an astonishing 5.2 second lap!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well never mind the rear end, the set srew cam loose on the rear drive shart where it comes out of the transmission. So thats not to bad I thought I was going to have to fork out some cash.

I know that in the past there have been some pretty heated discussions over the e truck class. Well I have now run that class. This is what I have to say. I bought a new matt francis 2. I put a novak brushless in the truck with an airtronics 357 steering servo. The truck was put together with out one single hop up. I took it to the tack Fri night and not only was it competitive it set a new track record. The truck ran 6.0. That is faster than the average time of a gas truck on the old track. We battled all night long and I had so much fun I just did not realize what the class was truly about. It is the most competitive class I think we run. No one ever got lapped and we ran nose to tail. Guys if you are tired of working on your gas truck or maybe dont feel like cutting coms, come join us and get ready for some of the funnest racin I honestly believe we have. My set up is bone stock with 30 weight oil and red springs. I can take it off the oval and go run off road with out changing a single thing. By the way Tommy I heard through the grape vine brushless will be roar legal next year. To finish this up if someone wants to argue with me over some stupid rule or maybe you just dont like the class go to the hobby shop and buy a MF2 throw it together and dont change anything. If you dont think it is fun I highly recommend chess, because you dont want to race. You have as good of chance at winning as anyone racing. The class is fun, competitve and when I got home I wiped it off, now I am ready for next weekend. Absolutely no up keep.

ryan,
i think thats the selling point we have been trying to get across for a long time on the forum. it's not a matter of a brushed motor that is faster than a brushless motor. just equal power for everyone in the class.

i think we all left the track with smiles on our faces friday. mostly due to having a good time, and good racing.:) i personally haven't had that much fun at the track in a while.
looking forward to next friday night.

I think the reason where all the arguments started is what alot of people are thinking in the back of there head and that is there is nothing you can do to make it faster other than set up and learn how to drive with out ever making a mistake. The thing is the truck is very easy to drive because of the smooth power that the brushless makes and awesome speed. No one has a true advantage and I think that is something that bothers some people. It is all setup and driver, by the way I have already told everyone what my setup is it is real complicated, haha. It is an awesome class I just cant stress that enough.

you're exactly right, some people like to pull some tricks on their brushes, coms, etc... brushless eliminates that all together.

how many times did all the buggy class finish on the same lap excluding crashes?
always seemed someone was blazing fast, a few close behind, and another couple really down on power. which there is nothing wrong with that kind of racing, we've been doing it that way since i've started.
brushless is more of a drivers kind of racing.

how much does your speedo in your car cost, and motor. now add the motors in your pit box to that. some of the guys in the buggy class are running the novak GT7 ($170) when it came out i think. LRP quantum ($170) right now at the hobby shop. there isn't but around 25-maybe 50 dollar difference between brushed and brushless. buy a couple of brushed motors thru the summer and it's the brushed that becomes more exspensive. but thats only in the E truck class, it has nothing to do with buggy, maxx, or gas class.

i would be frustrated too. youv'e been out there to race 3 or 4 times that it wasn't raining and you didn't have anyone to race against.
how is it our fault those guys don't want to come out and play with their toys?

NINJAZX7
07-25-2004, 07:28 PM
you can run a modifed electric in a truck, no one said you couldn't. it is setup so you don't have to spend $234, on a brushless to race in E truck.
what you're saying has no merit.

like i said you can run a mod motor, if i would have known, i would have offered you a 19t, (thats all i have) and use of my soldier iron. you didn't say anything no one knew.
i know you would like to run, and i will do all i can to help you if you need me to, in any class i can.

Cruiser I dont know who you have been talking to, but I would like to clarify something for you. Number 1 and most importantly I would like for you to run e truck, I do not have anything against anyone that wants to run the class. A mod motor is very competitive and runs with the brushless easy, I know I ran with Bill thurs night and I had a mod in. I was probly a little faster. No one is telling you to go buy a brushless. As far as the buggy class goes I cant help you, You will have to talk to them.

I like the chess joke, pretty funny. Tommy are you going to run e truck? I said one thing about buggy and got my case jumped. I think if you dont run the class or have any intentions in running a class. Than you shouldnt degrade a class. Cruiser check your PM

the track aint that much different, basically the setup you where running on the track before will still work well now. i think thats what he meant, so he didn't have to type it out.

to be honest we didn't miss the arguements over water at all.

i think Cruiser got upset, and if i where in his shoes, i would too. his racing buggy class depends on Josh, Tommy, Casey, and Lamar. Alex is there with me every weekend.
if he wants to race in e truck we are all willing(truck class) to come up with something he will feel competitive racing with.
