PGoogs 04-13-2004, 11:03 PM What happened to the Greentown web site, I've tried several times to get on it? Raced at Greentown before and hope to make it over at least a couple of times this summer.
The guy that did the web page quit racing so in turn the web page went south with him.

Well the first points race is in the record books. Little Davey Tasker pulled off the double win in both stock truck and buggy driving his B4/T4s. GO AE!!!
UrboTurbo 05-24-2004, 11:44 AM I heard track maintenence is horrible here? It has sent a lot of people to Medina, just an FYI!!!!!
Well the jump are hand made and the faces arent perfect and the rain ruts stay as they develope, BUT HEY this is offroad racing the track isnt suposed to be perfect and is suposed to change. I have a thread on rc10b4 called OFFROAD tracks for ONROAD cars. Im tired of tracks where slicks work good and you can run the car real low, thats on road, I like to throw rooster tails. Come out and try one night its a fun night. If you come look for the big guy with short hair and go tee that will be me (BIG Kev). And yes the guys I pit with left for Medina wish they would come back.
Mucho check your email!
MuchoMadness 05-25-2004, 02:10 PM Big Kev,
I hear what you're sayin about a real offroad racing surface that isn't perfect, brutha, but come on. Anybody can dump a few piles of dirt inside a dirt oval track & call it offroad. You have to make the track layout fun, at least somewhat challenging, and you can't treat the people that race at your track like they are idiots, even if they are. I think this is why a lot of people don't want to race at Greentown as much as before. I personally have no problems with Greentown myself, other than the track does nothing for me. But a lot of people don't like bringing their kids (a.k.a. novice drivers) to a track where all they get is screamed at for not moving out of the way. This hobby is based on new people getting interested. If you want to get your panties all up in bunch and yell at people for not moving out of your way, go race full scale cars.
BTW - Is your track still around. We all had a blast the time we came out there?

Yeah-but in real cars with helmet on and engine roaring-you cannot hear them yelling.....
Maybe the real issue is at Greentown the organisers arent aware the "racers" are restless???? Well-not untill now anyways. I mean I dont know-just giving them the benefit of the doubt. Hopefull they are bright enough to know if people stop going-well maybe they could have done things better and will do so intoo the future. Besides-the BAD seeds as JM refers to-might start going to Medina and wouldnt they ruin it for the newbies there?.
Yes I just rebuilt it for the second time this year 2 weeks ago. It is 1/3 smaller though for right now. It isnt going to be as big as when you were here before but bigger than it is right now. The big track was getting out of hand for upkeep for not having any races anymore and just for me to practice on. Right now it has a small triple a double double and a 3 foot high by 7 foot long table and a few other bumps. A good lap is about 25 secs and it doesnt have a strait away well a couple small 1s a 10 foot and the other is 40. Never understood why all offroad tracks needs a strait away with no jumps or other obsticle in them, never seen a strait in the mtgp, soda, or the champoinship off road series without something. Plus who cant drive the strait away, didnt feel the track needed a strait for practice. But yes you guys need to come down again and run and we can have a cook out again but I dont think there will be any door prizes with the track not having races Ha Ha.
As far as greentown a oval with a few jumps: the east turn isnt bank anymore than it used to be but the west one is but there not reel step banking on either one. Lap times are a about 4 sec quicker this year but I like this track the best out of the 4 years Ive been there. Have you ran the track mucho? Hey Mucho check for a pm later.
rayhuang 05-25-2004, 04:38 PM U812-can you post an address for mapquest for track or general directions form Rt8 south or 77? I forget how to get there? I might head out there and snap some digi pics for everyone to see your new track design.
TA$KER 05-26-2004, 12:31 AM I would just like to say a few things. Greentown has gotten alot better this year. If people would express their ideas or concerns they might be addressed. I will be the first to admit that the track is not all it could be, and it is not my favorite track. But it is the closet track to me, and I think they have the best facilty in the area. I am trying to help with the track builds a little this year and the surface is improving. If people would help with ideas, or with the track builds it would be alot better. As far as people yelling at the Novice drivers there is always a novice class so I don't know how this is an issue. As far as yelling this happens at every racetrack I have ever been to. I have also yelled at people,so has everyone who races has at one point, if not then you are probably the one getting yelled at. I am not saying I am right but if you are 3 laps off the pace and been racing for a few years then you should be smart enough to know to move! The problem with Greentown is too many Cheifs and not enough Indians. I have expressed my concerns with the quality of racing and the track for the last year but I am 1 person! As far as treating people like IDIOTS, I don't think that was the problem. I think letting people getting away with being idiots was a bigger problem. I think that this is one of the biggest problems that drove people away. Because when people aren't having fun because of the same people week in week out and no one says anything. They are probably going to stop coming!
Good points Little Davey.
Ray my track is 2 hours from canton, yes I drive 2 hours to race at greentown. If you want to come down and run some and get pics I dont care.
MuchoMadness 05-26-2004, 06:59 PM Wow. I hope I didn't upset anyone with my last post, that wasn't my intention. Greentown is the track closet to my home too, so I DO hope things work out there. When I mentioned people yelling at younger & Novice drivers, I wasn't referring to the racers. I was referring to one race director in particular on the mic while calling the races. Your're right though, alot of people do get away with being idiots on a regular basis, but that happens everywhere. I was just suggesting that the race directors (mainly one person) should try to be a little more patient before they fly off the handle at someone, especially a novice. It reflects on everyone at the track to a beginner.
With that said, I always have a good time when I come there. The racing is always fun with good competition. Just makin' an observation on what some of the newcomers might be seeing.
Anyway, is Greentown racing this weekend with the Memorial Holiday being this week. Also, how has the buggy turn out been?
Thanks Again-
Jason M.
Yes there racing sat. Buggy is getting only 10 or less entrys. Last sat there where 5 of us real close in speed and battled the whole 5 min it was awesome, just to bad a half pint had to win (just kidding Little Davey).
MuchoMadness 05-27-2004, 10:26 AM Big Kev-
I'll talk to J-Dub & the fellas to see if we can't bring out 4-5 more buggys to play with you guys this weekend.

1 addional note I goofed and had a brain fart and left my Battery in from the 3rd heat race and still finished 2nd. Thanks for the good batterys Pro Match. Thats 10 min of racing on 1 charge and 30 min setting in the pits between the 3rd heat and the main.
anyone know who won sat at greentown?
TA$KER 06-22-2004, 09:48 PM Tim said Ian won and he finished second in truck. I don't know who ran buggy. :freak:
Thanks Davey. I see you finished 6th both classes in Michingan ,good job.
TA$KER 06-23-2004, 03:37 PM Yeah the start of my truck main was horrible. I could have done alot better but I started 3/4 of a lap down and just drove mad. I don't want to talk about 2 wheel Stoffer ran in 1st for a long time (2 1/2 - 3 min) I was in 2nd but wrecked on the strait and lost a ton of time. Then in the end I had a brain fart and drag raced Webb down the straight and never lifted and spun out thinking the loop was at the end of the straight. IT WAS 15 FEET AROUND THE CORNER!! :freak:
Pete Vitale 06-25-2004, 10:26 AM Whats a good front tire for a losi xxx for greentown? Any help is appreciated.
