masi993- There is a track in your back yard. They race on Sunday morning during the summer. It is in Regan Park across the creek from the baseball fields.

i'm a newbie too and want to race there. Do they rac 1/8 scale buggy?

They used to race 1/8th scale. I have not been there for a couple years, but the last time I was there they did. This is a bring your own table, shelter, power, and food track. I hear that electric may be added, but do not know for sure. If you are into traveling about 2 to 2-1/2 hours, McCullough's races anything and the competition is good.

I think there are a lot of bashers there, should be a good place for you. I think the Lutz family is running it now that they took over Medina City Hobby (Now a different name) They are good people. Check them out.

well racing starts on the 25 of this month. they race 1/8 scale, 10 th scale gas & electric truck, and electric buggy. the track is in a public park, so yes y7ou can go and bash for nothing on none race dates.

Hey all,

I heard through the grapevine that the place was packed last Saturday night-so they are off to a grand start.

Anyways-I am getting a Losi XXX MF truck and could use a set-up for Medina. Especially shock oil and piston and tires and inserts. The rest we can fine tune at track.

Thanks,
Ray

Ray - I need to be on that vine! Do they race every Sat? I am thinking of racing at McCulloughs this year, but if there is good comp. out there I will join you. It wouldn't be as far thats for sure. Let me know.

Also did you know the MF2 will be out in a couple of months? The only thing different is the Transmission (Big difference), and it has an adjustment to make the arms longer. I know a lot of people who have made there MF to a MF2 by adding the BK2 Transmission. Works awesome. Better low end and punch.

I am thinking it will be all summer before I am even remotely competitive-so I am not too worried about that.

Two guys that run on-road went to Medina Saturday night just to spectate and said it looks to be a really good summer out there.
NOw-gotta go make one of thse little bucket thingies with the brush glued to the bottom.

They had about 45 entries this past week. stock truck, monster trucks, gas trucks, and 8th scale. they are racing every saturday with racing starting at 5:00 pm. They have lights on the track....and soon there will be lights in the parking lot. As of right now they are not providing electricity but that may be in the works. They have completely redone the track and the lanes are wide....all new tubing as well. Larry Lutz is not actually running the track, it is being done by the other two owners of the shop....Chris and Bill. Greg...you have probably raced with them in the past...they go to crcrc. Chris is very good. I may be getting a mf2 when they come out so I will see you there.Ray - I need to be on that vine! Do they race every Sat? Oh-yeah-also what size pinions for Monster stocks?

UrboTurbo
04-27-2004, 01:46 PM
Between a 16 and an 19 tooth for the MF. I have been to 21 in the T4, but it is for large tracks only. If it is a small track the Monster has nothing on a properly set up P2K2. Small Tracks = Torque. I will have to see how big Medina is.

Turbo-if your going Saturday night-would yu please call me and also give me your cell number. if I go I will be there around 5pm to 5:30 so i will miss practice, and a heat. So I will need someone to sign me up.

I talked to RCHobby and they think IFMAR pins work on the back and 8-rib fronts.

I guess my MF trucks got some nice hop-ups on it too-so I am even more pumped.

ANyone tell me the shock oil weights?

From 71 south you take Rt.3 South. 5-7 miles on Rt.3 will be Bowman Rd.(look for Park Service Entrance -Brown sign)-turn right and the tracks in the park.

Turbo-I got the truck and its track ready already. All I had was 30 wt oil so thats what I used. I thnk I have the right tires. I have red 8-rib fronts and Step pins in back. Only pinion I had inn the range was 17 so that went in. It comes with red springs front and back. Are those a good place to start or do I need to buy some springs?

Thanks in advance,
Ray

Since I don't run a Slosi I don't know too much, but I belive you want to have a set of Pinks and a set of yellows. That was always the hook up when I races XX's. I don't know if the step-pins will work there or not. If it is loamy you should be set. I usually run a Heavier oil in the front (35-40) to make it drive more like a touring car. I am probably going to McCullugh's offroad on Saturday so I will not see you, but good luck. I know there will be a lot of poeple there to help you out.

Heres an overall view. The 1/8th buggy there was getting some serious air on the jumps in the middle. Quite fun to watch.

I would like to come out and race within the next two weeks. Is there a 2wd mod class?power?4wd? If any one wants to race 4wd, post when you will be there. I have an FD4(tc3/b4) that i would like to try on different tracks.

Hey frank-get a hold of Jason Markovich as hes running buggy and I thnk he wants to race mod. No power yet-but I hear its in the works.

Tmorrow I'll ost the phone number for RCHobby so you can call and get some real answers. YOu'll want to speak to a guy named Chris I believe. They are open Tues-Sat.

Turbo-the plan is to be there for sure. I would love to tie into the power, but I have a car batt to charge off of if a lot of people tie into yours. I'll just need to borrow a soldering iron a few times during the night for the motor.

Also-I am game to buy a pair of IFMAR pins or whatever the hot tires are for my Losi. I take it theres always hardcore guys there selling good used tires? I hate gluing tires that much!!

Dietz - I just want to race some where I can race electric and gas. It helps that Medina is only like 40 min. away. I want to race McCulloughs, but it is about 1 hour and 50 min. to get there. They usually have like 80 entries don't they? What does Medina have?

Ray - You are the only one I know going so far. I have to make sure I can get the power supply for this weekend though.

Also if you want to buy some new meats and you don't want to mount them come up to HobbyTown and we will do it for free. Either me or Jeff, or Chris can do it for you. I wouldn't trust anyone else.

Do you all know if the weather is in the 50's in the evening if that will cool enough to warrant lower weight oil and or lighter springs?

Any other must do cool weather changes for Medina!! I have to ask because I am not getting any practice before racing, Basically getting out of the car and getting on the drivers stand-if I am lucky!!

Mames
05-14-2004, 11:48 PM
don not know if the temos would warrant the change, you will have to play it by ear. also don't forget to bring some kind of light it gets dark back in the parking lot.
hey you would know of anyone getting ride of any batterys, thats all i need to go racing.

i have only been out there once so it may be slightly different, but talking with the sunday crew thay said the same thing. usally aroung 40 entry's total. so its kind of thin but th epeole are all different so if sundays racers show up on saturday night it could be a good turn out.
