rayhuang 05-20-2004, 09:40 PM Man-from talking to some guys it sounds like Saturday night in medina is going to be the place to race!! I sure hope so.
Ray
rayhuang 05-23-2004, 12:34 AM Man-does Chris and his crew put on a good show!! Once I went to school a few times with my zen offraod masters-it got easier and easier. Thugh I am sure t marshalls really got sick of marshalling me.
Ray
Mames 05-23-2004, 11:31 PM ray sorry i could not make it out for the battery's. probably in a 2 weeks. going to indy next weekend. so what kind of lap times did you run. i have to give the track crew a big thumbs up also, they seem to keep the races running pretty smooth. but so does bill on sundays.
so what time do the races start? i had heard like 5 or so , but just want to make sure.

mattMy fastest lap was only a 31.0. NOthing special when you consider the top three were doing 28 and 29's!! but-I wasnt too dissapointed as I was on my lid more than not till some guys showed me how to hit the jumps. A couple more races and I think I can get into the 20 second laps too. I mostly need to learn how to get the truck to fly flatter so I can land sooner.
ON the race-they started aronund 5:30 or so?? Wasnt really paying too much attention, but the electric guys got 4 qualifiers and mains and the gas guys got 3 quals. and 10 minute mains!!! I got my moneys worth-thats for sure.
UrboTurbo 05-24-2004, 10:34 AM Awsome atmoshpere and a great place to race! I had a blast even though my 1/8th scale didn't want to run anymore after the third round and I was Second in buggy in the main and got trampled to 5th! It doesn't matter. I had a complete blast and if Saturdays are like this all of the time I have just found a place to call home for the summer!!!! Great comp and great people made for a terrific time. See you guys next week.

rayhuang 05-24-2004, 12:34 PM Hey all,
Can someone explain how to negotiate the jumps just before the right hander onto the long straightaway? I know its pretty mickeymouse for you guys, but I bet I flipped and landed on my lid at least 3x per qualifier there. Luckily the marshall there was always on his toes. Just tell me what to do with the throttle before the jump and what to do in the air if you like.
Sorry to be so stupid, but I just have no idea how to do it consistently.
Thank you in advance,
Ray

glitcher 05-24-2004, 07:46 PM Are they the doubles by the pole?
How far apart are they? How high are they?
What are you driving?
What kind of speed do you have coming out of the turn just before them?
What did the other guys do?Did they roll them or make the double jump?
Mames 05-24-2004, 10:40 PM ray from what i have seen its about 1/2 to 3/4 trottle and make damm sure youy are square to it, the faces seem to try to through you off to the left and if you just a bit off, thats it... here's a hint try to marshall right there for a race or watch that area. also make sure you are not turning in the air( taking the corner before you land) because it does come quick.
now the disclaimer. i have not run the track and my lap times will most likely be slower than your's...

1-yes
2-ummm 5'??
3-ummmmmm....2'???
4-oh easy question-finally-a Losi XXXT MF
5-Varies on how well I nail the corner before. Either full wood and booking or slower due to blowing the line into the corner and knowwing I am going to push on way out.
6-I dont know.
7-when I made the jump I was ofetn flat wood and hit the jump and landed after the second jump. When I didnt make it-I think I hit the second jump with the nose f the truck and then flipped on the lid.
Glitcher-sorry-too new to know, but thanks.
Mames-thanks!!
MuchoMadness 05-25-2004, 12:56 PM Sorry I missed you fellas Saturday night. Sounds like you had a good time. Unfortunately I was a an out-of-town wedding that sucked. At least the MuchoMadness mobile was in full effect with Bean behind the wheel. Hope I can catch up w/ you guys at the track in the next few weeks.
Peace Out-
Jason M.
rayhuang 05-25-2004, 02:07 PM Well_All I know is I had a great time under the bigtop and really appreciated getting to tie into the power!! I was happy to contribute cash to the fuel fund too. And they werent kidding about hw dark it gets back there.
glitcher 05-25-2004, 05:48 PM Ray,
Sounds like you should work on trying to hit it the same speed and in the same spot every time.
In general,it sounds like you have enough speed most every time, but if you don't you should decide real quick to roll the jump(much faster than crashing).
If you are running drag brake, try staying on the throttle a little while in the air, brake will drag the nose down in a hurry.
I would try to hit the ramp and let off the throttle before reaching the top, this should work with a stock motor with no drag brake.Always try to land on the down side of the 2nd ramp.
One more thing....Practice...practice..practice.
Good luck,have fun,hope this helps.
rayhuang 05-25-2004, 10:31 PM Glitcher-it does. I think I can execute well-I just cannot figure out how to do the jumps myself-but what do you expect-I am a roadracer at heart. But show me how and I "think" I can do it.
Dietz 05-25-2004, 10:46 PM Hey mucho, I have been wanting to come down, would you be interested in running mod. If and when will there be power or do i need to bring a generator, thanks,Frank
UrboTurbo 05-26-2004, 10:39 AM Dietz,
Bring an easy-up, generator, light, and your game! There is definetly some comp. here. Jason's group has a tent city going so you can proably just add to it. This is definety the place to be this summer. Saturday all the way! I don't know if you will spark much interest in mod, most people are running for points.
bshields 05-26-2004, 11:02 AM Dietz,

Jason's group?!?!?!?! Do you think we are a gang and Mucho is our leader?!?!?!? What a pitiful existence that would be. :p
You trying to get banned from the city, Turbo???? :hat:
UrboTurbo 05-26-2004, 12:35 PM I meerly said Jason's group because Dietz's comment was directed to Jason and I chimed in. No I don't want to be banned from the city, I simply wanted to add the perverbial .02 cents. Do I sense anomosity on your part Mr. Shields?

Oh yeah Turbo, you need to shave your head. :dude:
You better watch it or I'll show the Greentown boys who you are!! :freak:
As for Dietz,
We cannot even run stock buggy! :p
MuchoMadness 05-26-2004, 05:40 PM Dietz,
Pay no attention to this large group of blowhards......they know who their Master is.
Yes - I would love to run mod if we can get enough people together. Like Turbo said, a generator, light & an easy-up would be the way to go if you have access. Let me know when you want to run so I can make sure I'm there. I don't remember what Shields said, all I heard was blah-blah-blah.
Anyhoo, good to hear from ya. Come on out, and bring those Thomas & Beard characters with you if you can.
Later On-
Jason M.

It takes me about 3 weeks to get out of "carpet mode".2 simple rules;
1-Easy on the trigger. 2-Hugging the pipe is not always the best way.
Watch everyones lines,you'll learn allot.
rayhuang 05-27-2004, 11:04 PM Glitcher-I am going to work on that whole throttle finger thing next race. :)
Skandranon 05-28-2004, 08:59 AM if u want to find a track in ur state just go to caraction.com
I cant get this page to work.
UrboTurbo 05-28-2004, 11:11 AM Who is racing this weekend at Medina? Anyone?
UrboTurbo 05-28-2004, 11:16 AM Skandranon - check this page out - http://www.teamassociated.com/basicshub/Listings/listoh.htm
rayhuang 05-28-2004, 11:25 AM NO racing at Medina this weekend. Greentown is racing Saturday night though!!
UrboTurbo 05-28-2004, 11:27 AM I forgot about that. Good looking Ray! Do you know when they start?
rayhuang 05-28-2004, 11:33 AM I am afriad not. Maybe something was posted abut it on greentown thread?
rayhuang 05-28-2004, 11:54 AM Greentown race info-Onsight AC power and snack bar. Have a few tables under a pevillian. Racing starts around 5:30 pm track opens at 3:00pm. Lots of room to park and to pit in the grass if you bring table and extention cord.
Amb lap counting- personal transponders accepted
Dietz 05-28-2004, 12:19 PM McCulloughs having a gas truck give away race Sat. If you win you have a choice of gas, electric, or cash. You get a ticket with your entry. Sorry Greentown, I'm going to try and win a gas truck this weekend.
Mames 05-28-2004, 10:46 PM hey that page you guys listed was for the sunday series... just a heads up on that. but from what i know they are running on sunday.

Is medina looking like the hot-spot this Saturday the 5th?
Ray
guver 06-02-2004, 01:26 PM I may go down there to help marshall, I don't have anything to race. In fact I've never raced , only been to the track a couple of times. I would be interested in helping someone pit like if noone had a helper. even if I did race, I don't have a helper either.
MuchoMadness 06-02-2004, 01:39 PM Shields - You have mail.

I can't get back there until the 12th. I'll be in P.A. this weekend. Don't tell me I'm gonna miss another guest appearance from Mr. Huuuuuuuang himself. Will you be there on the 12th? Don't let Shields keep you away. He's all talk anyway.:p

joneser 06-02-2004, 02:31 PM Not that it matters, but I may be there on Saturday. I would love to try my hands at buggy if anyone has one they would like me to test for them:) . I have not purchased my truck yet and I was liking the looks of buggy but have never run one before.

rayhuang 06-02-2004, 02:40 PM Come-on JOnser-weve got unfinished business in truck. We need to do 28 sec laps before we look at Buggies-though I am pretty sure thats what I want to run next summer.
Ray

rayhuang 06-03-2004, 10:16 AM B4 or XXX??? I gotta say Bean looked awful good with the XXX, but Shields and Urban were fast with B4's too!! Either one-I am sure I can buy one of your guys cars at end of the season!!
bshields 06-03-2004, 01:06 PM B4 only because you don't need to rebuild the diff after every heat. The stealth diff lasts for weeks.
But the new BK2 has a new diff design I believe. Either car will turn the same amount of laps. It's not as crazy as TC.
See ya Saturday.
MuchoMadness 06-03-2004, 02:25 PM Ray,
The car you saw Bean running is for sale. E-mail me if interested. I have lots of spare parts too.

Afraid I dont expect to make a whole lot of races offroad this summer-so better stick with what I got-but you might as well call me and tempt me as I am a sucker for a good deal!! But to be honest-as good as youe XXX looked last Sat-I am really bending towards a B4 next summer.
Ray
Mames 06-07-2004, 11:43 PM finally made it out saturday night. had a blast. they sure do know how to keep the races moving along. and with trying to do both races i should be able to get up to speed a little quicker.
