I think Jack always opens the first Saturday following Mother's Day. I'm sure Jim Fulton would be able to tell you (www.fultonshobbies.com).

Jack has a great track and is a super guy. I can only get there once or twice per year but I have fun when I can make it. I'm sure he'll have a big weekly crowd - he's never hurting for racers.

racing starts saturday May 14th, i'll get some new pictures and get them posted, any questions you can call Jack 740-695-2978, or post them here, track is in St. Clairsville Ohio, about 15 minutes west of Wheeling on 70, just a few minutes beside Jamboree in the hills campground, plenty of pit space and electric, great food too, can't wait to get back outside under the lights, Brad.

Practice is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, April 30. According to the weather forecasts, however, it looks like that's going to be washed out by a full day of rain. Bummer!

Any chance Jack and the other guys would be willing to run on Sunday May 1 instead? The forecasts predict a cloudy but dry day on Sunday.

erock - thanks for the set-up help. Did you record the rollout that you used? Also, your set-up was for stock, correct?

Kevin

the weather does'nt look too good for saturday, may be able to go Sunday, Shawn, Andy, Dusty, Kenny, Jack mostly ran green "L" on the left side and blue "S" on the right, when the sun went down they would sometimes switch to a green "S" on the right rear, the blue was a little firm when the track cooled off at night, Eric, why the green spring on right rear ?? does that help keep the left rear tire planted better, i've usually run same springs on both side shocks, Steve, Erics set-up is the right place to start, Shawn ran pretty much the same thing. if wether is bad Sunday too, i'm gonna try to make it up tuesday or wednesday, if you can go let me know, we'll meet and you can ride up with me, Brad.

Kevin

Stock setup, yes

Rollout was about a 2.38-2.43 range with a Monster. If I had to run there again, being they are on caps (more efficient, less drag) I would run the Epic Roar stock and roll it out a couple teeth lower.

Pretty much everywhere I have been if you gear the Epic right it runs better than a Monster.

So - the weather still looks bad for Saturday. Is everyone planning on moving practice to Sunday instead? Is Jack OK with Sunday? What is the planned start time?

Sorry about all of the questions but I'm trying to make weekend plans.

Thanks!

BEACH, track is in St.Clairsville Ohio, about 15 minutes west of Wheeing WV, just off of I-70, about 3 hours west from Willow Mill,

Pan Man, tomorrow does'nt look so good, i'm gonna stop by anyhoo just to see Jack and hang out for a while, we're going to a 3d shoot Sunday so i can't make it, i told Jack that some may come Sunday to practice and he said that would be GREAT, weather looks to be good mid week, so i'm gonna go tuesday or wednesday, if you still plan on going Sunday let me know, i'll leave some tires with Jack and you can try them,

Steve, i'll be home tomorrow late afternoon or evening, give me a call, 291-8067, and we'll go up tuesday or wednesday, my new email is bcwhiteman96@msn.com

can't wait for season to start, several from the Wheeling club and Steel City club will be running there, i was at the Dollar Store the other day, there EZ-UPS are $18, i'm gonna buy a couple again this year, we usually tie a few together along the pit tables, makes it real nice, looking forward to seeing everyone, Brad.

Brady - I'm not sure what I'm going to do. Don't worry about the tires because the ones that you've already loaned to me should me more than enough to get started. I don't even have the car set up or body painted or mounted yet (Friday evening) so I'm running late.

I probably won't go Sunday. If you and Steve are going to go Tuesday or Wednesday, post it on here so I can see what your plans are. I might be able to make it on a weekday.

Have fun at the shoot!

Randito, i have some caps, not exactly what you would want, but at least you can run some laps, for set i would probably just soften the car up front and rear, red springs on front, 30-40 in sides w/ silver, 40-50 middle w/ green or silver spring, i only rana couple times early last summer, we'll get a couple practice days in and get everything dialed in real good, Shawn and the Zanesville gang ran all last summer so we'll have a lot of help,

Kevin, i'll give you a call, temps are supposed to be in the 60's and dry i think tuesday and wednesday, hopefully we can meet up.

Brad - Sounds good! I'm home in the evenings after 5:30 pm. I can take a vacation day if you want to meet up during the week - I'll just need some advance notice. At this time, the weather forecasts say that Wednesday should be the best day.

Sorry about the typo above where I called you "Brady"! Old man fingers don't type well.

Kevin, wednesday looks good, hope you can make it,

i stopped by the track today, Jack put up new trim along the outside wall, it's a real thick plastic, real slick too, no more rubbing the outside wall and getting sucked into it, and the infield looks like a fairway, i know we don't race in the infield but man does it make for a bee-utiful track, he sealed it again too, looks great, really smoooooooth,

Steve, give me a call and we'll meet wednesday morning about 10:00.

PanMan

Brad- What time would you be at Jack's on Wednesday? If I make it, I'll have to leave by 3:00 pm for some early evening commitments. I guess if I got started at noon, that would give me three hours of practice time - should be enough to get started. What do you think?

Brad - OK ......... It's decision time. I'll have to tell work tomorrow if I plan on taking a vacation day on Wednesday. Please confirm that you're going to go to Jack's on Wednesday, May 4. I'll try to be there around 11:00 am. I have to leave to go back home by 3:00 pm. Have you cleared this date with Jack?

I'll check back to this thread often to view your response. Thanks!

Kevin, good Lord willing i'll be there, Terry Zinser from Z-Ville will be there too, talked to Shawn, he went Sunday and he and Jack and Steve ran a few batteries Sunday, he said track is good just a little cold, i'm bringing some older batteries and an old motor to practice with, just want to get a bunch of laps on the tires, seems like the more the better for the tires, so if you have some older stuff you may want to bring it too, i bought a can of m.e.k. from Lowes to clean the tires with, so we should have a real good day, Jack and Steve will be running too, weather still looks good so we'll see you in the morning, Brad.

Kevin, good seeing you yesterday, had a great time, your car looked good, especially for your 1st time on caps, it's quite a different feel from foam on carpet, Terry and i ran a couple batteries after dark, the track temp was only 56, but still hooked up real good, for tires i would get a green "L" for left front, green "L" narrow for left rear, blue "S" for right front, for right rear you'll probably want 2 tires, a blue "S" wide and a green "S" wide, the blue is good for the heat of the day, the green will hook up a little better when it's cool, these will be used about 99% of the time, but i have a few different tires other than these to experiment with if you want to,

we're having a big practice day this coming saturday the 7th, most of the Zanesville gang and several from Wheeing will be there, not really a set time but probabaly noon or so, and most likely we'll be there til after dark, so bring all your gear and a chair and come on out, opening day is the following saturday the 14th,

i did'nt get pictures yesterday, but will get some this saturday and get them posted, looking forward to seeing everyone, Brad.

Pan car tires work but i found some really huge greens and blues at the local hobby shop (Fultons in wheeling) and turned them down to the right size...... Brad always used pancar tires and they worked fine......

Nice seeing ya Brad, look forward to following your wife around the track in truck class...... she might also run your old pro truck also?

The track really does look good, winter didn't hurt it at all and that new yellow guardrail around the perimeter should work great......... For those that have never been there it's a super nice track, nice and wide and easy to run on..

Brad, we can do that, I think my brushless messed up, had radio off and left car on while it was sitting there, was doing other things and just forgot, went back and you could hear the speed control making funny sounds and there was a smell.. have not tried it since, maybe tomorrow... will take it down to Fultons and see if it can be repaired, might have to put monster back in it for the first week or two... those things sure are fast, think speeds in stock rubber tire truck is way faster than our pro-trucks... bet they will really humm in the protruck, will see how others want to run the classes then we can decide which truck to run them in.

Nice seeing your wife there, can see she is gonna be a competitor in the truck classes.

Dennis
