I want to upgrade my E-maxx from stock Titan 550 motors. I would like to improve broad band power and top speed, without giving up too much run time.

What motors have you selected or can suggest (considering that moeny IS an issue)?

What improvements did you see from the upgrade?

What draw backs (like run time reduction) did come with your upgrade?

Did you change gearing?

It would be great to get lots of opinions.

Thanks.

All of us that race them around here think the Stock Titans are good enough. If you must upgrade the only thing I would consider is brushless, they are awesome in a maxx. But no matter what you upgrade to, be ready for more wrenching on it to fix the things you break and/or wearout.

DeWalt? You mean like a cordless drill motor? Where do you find those?

seach Kershaw designs i just ordered one from them they offer a single 820 size for $139, 1.2 hp should run about 35+mph; they also offer a 775 twin motor design which i believe is $119 and will run about 33 mph

Hmmm a Fantom 11 turn rated at 98 watts? On my Robitronic I saw atleast 125 on a stock motor, an 11 should get around 200.
