View Full Version : TRAX70 Superspeedway (formerly known as ONTRAX)
Goodwrench29 03-20-2004, 08:48 PM We are really excited with the new Owner of Trax70 In Browns Mills NJ (formerly Ontrax superspeedway). It is a breath of fresh air to us racers as the facility will be sporting a new look. A group of guys met with the new owner this afternoon and we discussed the possibilities for the 2004 season. The most exciting news is the prospect of the new drivers stand. It will have a sloped canopy to provide 2 purposes, sheild drivers from the sun, protect the stand from the rain. A new concession stand with modernized equipment will also soon be implemented. A new Jlap system that will see race results posted to the all new webpage is also in the works. Work on the track will also be done. Any imperfections in the racing surface will be fixed, inside aluminum retaining walls upgraded. Any of you who haven't come to this track for any reason in the past, cast your doubts aside, and give it a new look. As the mens wherehouse guy says:
"Your gonna like the way it looks, I guarantee it"
Goodwrench29 03-21-2004, 11:51 PM I just wanted to thank everyone today from the ORL at DC Ultra Trax for the kind words and racer input on how to make racing at TRAX70 Superspeedway the best it can be. I will go over all the infomation and idea's from today with the new owner my next meeting with him and I'm sure he will be happy to hear the news.
I Know that I can speak for many in saying that we are thankful to have a place to race in our back yards.....

Goodwrench29 03-29-2004, 05:09 PM Made it out there Saturday and Sunday. Saturday was nice, Sunday was a little chilly but we still had fun. Even though it was a little chilly the track still had plenty of grip.
Sir crashalot 04-04-2004, 05:45 PM I visited on Saturday.. Met with the new owner... This guy is for real... He really wants this place to be the place to race....
He is putting together his plans for the season... So anyone with any Ideas speak up or forever hold your line....
Anyone besides me excited about Saturday night racing under the lights.....
I know I'm excited about it, nothing like running under the lights!!!
Goodwrench29 04-09-2004, 09:32 PM Weather should be good for tomorrow so we're going to try and have a practice session with the new lap counting system to work the bugs out. Everything should be ready about 11-11:30. Thanks!
Goodwrench29 04-11-2004, 12:45 PM Just wanted to thank everyone for coming out yesterday for practice. Also want to thank OUTSIDER6 for the help putting in the new timing loop and working the bugs out of the new software, next week it will be ready to go. Anyone who is interested, Trax70 will have another open practice session next Saturday April 17th and the lap counter will be up and running, so come on out and turn some laps!
Had a great time today, was really happy with my car, track is awesome. I am getting more excited after talking to the new owner. HE has an electrician coming next week to get the electric straightened out and make sure we all have plenty of power. And to plan out the lights!
JAH15 04-21-2004, 09:31 PM so what is the race day going to be ??????????
Goodwrench.... you have PM
Goodwrench29 04-22-2004, 03:15 PM Got it
OUTSIDER6 04-22-2004, 09:57 PM Hello all, I'll be there once again trying to help out as much as I can. Hope to have all the electric fixed and the PA system running. If you guys have a free day please stop by.( Bring your cars free to run while we get ready for the season).
Hope to see some cars on the track on saturday. I might even take a few laps around if I have a few minutes.
The track and pit area look a lot better now than it did just a few weeks ago, all thanks to the new owner Patrick.
Well outsider, I think we made some real headway on the lap counter.
OUTSIDER6 04-24-2004, 10:28 PM DC71 Made some headway today mostly due to your efford and some phone calls to jlap, at least we had a full run of the scoring and the PA system. Also some track work and some more clean up. It's looking better each week. Just need some more racer's to show up and start racing and have FUN. JM

Anytime72 04-25-2004, 11:36 AM Hey DC71 that funny. Did you take him to the wall?
Nope, unfortunately for me someone else decided to take a chunk out of my tire before I had the chance :(
Anytime72 04-25-2004, 07:28 PM Dave, what's the rollout or 19t on te concrete? I forgot what I ran last year.
I ran around 2.55 I think, but that was with the snowbird handout... turned 6.5's I think...
You comin out this weekend? We need to get some more time on the lap counter.... so we can run a smooth show...
Anytime72 04-25-2004, 08:46 PM It's been a busy month. I'm still resting from the wedding I went to yesterday. I think I will make it out there on Sat. hope the weather is good.
Cool Deal, let's talk it up and try to get some more guys out!
Anytime72 04-26-2004, 09:46 PM Just wondering how many guys on the board are going to be running there this year?
Kidlockdmh 04-26-2004, 10:51 PM I know alot of the guys planning on attending dont read these boards. I know for a fact we have 15 IROC entries, and I know of 20 confirmed names completing in 4 cell stock or 19T. Hopefully we can boost up those numbers a little as the season rolls along. Thanks Jorge M. and Dave Carp for really steppin up and helping out, were gonna have a great time this season for sure.

Kidlockdmh 04-28-2004, 04:27 PM not 15 but in IROC will we definately be running 10 car mains. The IROC is gonna be fun for sure. :hat:
Anytime72 04-28-2004, 08:38 PM I remember back when the track was called Megatrack at the end of a night sometimes they would run as many cars as they can get on the track at on time. I was in a few of those 30-35 car runs.
I have a video I took of one after the '92 NORRCA Nats....... it was insane! There were guys driving from on top of the covered pits. .... it was really interesting when somone decided to go around the wrong way..... Those were the days.....
Kidlockdmh 04-29-2004, 11:12 AM Patrick the owner just called me, and he wanted me to make some posts and get feedback on this:
THE LIGHTS ARE GOING UP!, as well as the drivers stand is being rebuilt, and everything is being painted at this moment
To try to please everyone, instead of racing on Sunday, this is what he wants to do:
Trax70 will be open 3 days a week for oval racing
1. Open Practice on Friday nights under the lights, with Lap counting.
2. POINTS SERIES racing on Saturday Nights UNDER THE LIGHTS!!
3. Sunday afternoon, NON POINTS RACING starting at 12 noon
so what does everyone think?
Anytime72 04-29-2004, 10:15 PM Dave, I would like to see that video, Bring it on Sat. I will be there as of right now. Hopefully As far as the racing schedule goes, I like the Saturday night racing but racing both days might thin the herd out some.
Kidlockdmh 04-29-2004, 10:32 PM I explained to patrick that racing both days would essentially split up his following to what is more convientent for that racer, most will prefer saturday night, and a few will take more to sunday, but his thoughts were that if he limited racing to either saturday night or sunday, that the poeple who couldnt make the time he chose, due to work or other engagements, wouldnt be able to race at all, and he wants all who race, to be able to have a day that they can come and enjoy it. :jest:
Kidlockdmh 05-01-2004, 05:12 PM sorry guys, to clarify the IROC mains, there will be consistently 10 car mains in IROC, consistently 8 car mains in pan. thanks for the more experienced guys for helping me (and the race directing team) out to keep the rules striaghtforward, consistent, and fair.
Anytime72 05-01-2004, 08:14 PM Had a good time at the track today and got a great tan today. Can't wait untill opening day.
What a difference a week makes, the drivers stand has a roof, the deck on the top has all been replaced.... things are coming a long and looking good!
thanks to everyone that came out today.... spread the word... this is for real!
There is a great chance that the Dirt Oval at Trax 70 will be back in action.
The track should be open for practice next friday night. I'll keep you posted on any updates.
We would like to get some feedback on classes and race format from the drivers so come on out friday night! Track should be open for practice by 7 PM. If we can get a good turnout for practice in the next 2 weeks we'll start weekly racing by May 21st.
Spread the word!
Dave Carpenter
OUTSIDER6 05-02-2004, 01:47 PM The facility is looking better each week. Great to see some racers come out to practice. The new scoring tower and drivers stand also look good. New lights and power around the whole track should be done this week. Be READY to rock at the new TRAX70. Season starts in 2 weeks. There will be a hobby shop at the track. Hope to see you there.............JM
Upon further inspection, we have found there to be too many problems with the Dirt track facility including electrical safety issues and split pipes from the water not being turned off and properly drained last winter that need to be addressed.
As I have said Patrick the new owner likes to do things first class and these issues will need to be taken care of before the dirt oval can be opened. we will post any further information as to when it will be completed.

OUTSIDER6 05-08-2004, 09:27 PM SRM when you get to the track you may think you are somewhere else. All new surroundings and face lift to the place, don't be shocked. We will be testing the new lighting system this coming wednesday night.
Sunday MAY 16 will be opening day for the NEW TRAX70. Hope to see you soon on the concrete. ......................................JM
Kidlockdmh 05-08-2004, 11:06 PM You got that right Jorge, the place is unrecognizable, very nice, im very impressed. The electric has been redone, the lights are being installed so we can run at night, there is a canopy with lighting on the drivers stand, and even ceiling fans in the race directors both. I couldnt imagine the place would turn out so nice. I can not wait until next sunday, if you do yourself one favor, come check it out may 16
Kidlockdmh 05-08-2004, 11:07 PM racing will start at 12 noon may 16, sunday
