Anything further happening at the Angola indoor track? Has this discussion moved to another forum or website? Will the indoor action continue during the summer? Just curious so I know what cars to bring from Arizona when I vacation at Lake James this summer...

Krisfo
03-26-2005, 01:24 PM
I think the Angola track is gonna close till fall. So that mean racing at Dave's all summer long on Saturday nights. Nitro car, and electric pan cars. Nitro Trucks, Nitro Gearboxs, nitro Sprints, Nitro touring......and for Electrics Stadium Trucks, Gearbox cars, Pan Cars 4 cell stock, pan 4 cell 19t, along with Electric Touring cars.
"REAL DEEL" we might actually try the Late Model bodies for our 4 cell Stock or 4 cell Limited 19t........cars out here this year.........might work or might suck!! lol

Well its a new year (2005 and a brand new racing schedual is in the making.. 1/10th scale racing will mainly be every saturday starting at 5pm (just like always) BUT all 1/18th scale racing will be on sunday starting at 2pm.
The track is OPEN for FREE practice 7 days a week!!
The Independence 500 will be on July 2nd starting at 5pm.. and this year the nitro trucks and touring will run a 20min main... thats 5 pit stops so get a good pit crew.

wazzer
04-28-2005, 02:48 PM
Dave, so does that mean the Independance 500 for 1/18 scale will be on Sunday the 3rd at 2:00 p.m.?

Hey guys...

Right now I am finalizing a deal on a race for us. I can't realease any more info than that...however I will be asking about interest on Saturday night at the track.....and the following weekend also.

What I would like to do is since it is gonna be held away from the "HOME" track......I would like it to be a points race. However 3 race sponsors have stepped up to the plate, so points and trohpies can be awarded....and "OTHER" awards are possible!!!

This is the real deal, no BS.....if the deal is finalized it will happen with your support and a good time will be had by all!!!

Yep.. The 1/18th Independance 500 is Sunday July 3rd starting at 2pm.. if the @#$% Rain dont get us then also.. Man Indiana weather is really getting raunchy.
But we will try to put it together for a season of fun and excitment.. and the price is still the same as last year and the years before.

DWBryan
05-02-2005, 10:35 PM
This year so we can have a better set of awards for the 500 on saturday and sunday there will be NO 6 week point race untill AFTER the 500 has ran.
BUT there will be a couple of special races in the time befor the weekend of the 500.
This year for the 500, ALL Outlaw nitro Trucks, Touring & gearbox will run a 20min feature with 10 on the track at a time.
All the Electro classes will have 10 on the track also.. but will be done as in the years before... 4 races of 4 min.. throw out the worst and total the # of laps of the best 3 and declare the winner.
Electro Classes racing are Outlaw (no Stock/Spec unless there are at least 5 in the class) Trucks/buggys, Touring, and Pancar 4 & 6 cell.
NO class will race the 500 with no less that 5 in that class to qualify for a trophy & must be registered 2 weeks in advance so I can order the awards for that class.
Entery fee for the 500 on saturday is 12.00 for the 1st rc and 6 for each other class.
Entery fee is due raceday.
Sunday the 1/18th scale 500 will run just like the electro class on Saturday (same rules)
The Entry fee will be 8 for the 1st rc and 5 for each other class of 18th scale.. the races will be 5 min each.
Hope to see ya.. itsd gona be a BLAST!

I'll do my best Squeeker... I know IM ready for it to start getting nicer outside/trackside.
Had a new driver tryout in the nitro touring class... has a HPI RS2 I think... he put the NTC3 .15 in it and was looking pretty good out there... he said he is prepairing for the 500 and is going to be in the top 3... I think he has a good chance. :)
I broke out the old RC10DS today and got a few laps.. I think the track defently has more bite this year.. I was running the BSR caps... Blue on the F and Golds on the rear... looked pretty decent.

squeeker138
05-06-2005, 03:59 AM
Yea I think that it has the bite this year w/ me able to run the foams(greens on less) on the elec. truck. We shall see as the year progresses.

squeeker138
05-08-2005, 03:59 PM
Well I spoke too soon. I ran the foams for the 1st race it felt like it was on ice. will try it sometime after the sun goes down.

A great time was had by most. A few more were racing nitro truck this year.
I was glad to see some of the guys from Ft. Wayne some up & race with us.
See you next week.

Stopped at Schoolyard RC on our way back from RVR after the Nitro Tour race. And just like the name says, it is a RC track in an old school yard. I really liked the place. Sorry for forgetting his name, but the owner was there, and he was a very nice fellow. There was a nice stocked hobby shop, with tons of Associated parts. I had some fuel left in my Late Model, so I emptied the tank running on the track. I had the same tires from RVR on it, and except for a slight push, the car was pretty hooked up! The view from the drivers stand was great. I think you have to be at least 10 feet in the air! The lanes seemed to be more than wide enough for some side-by-side racing. If you ever get a chance, go check this place out. And make sure you take something to race. Sometime during the summer, I hope to get out there for a night of racing. I think it is about 15-20 miles west of the Ohio line, so it is only about 3-4 hour drive from Youngstown area.

Anyway, just wanted to give some info about the track. Give it a try sometime!

Guys & Gals...

It was fun to race up at the Ol' Schoolyard. It was fun as always...especially watching my friend Kevin...go airborne and end over end with my old car down the front stretch. I was laughing so hard on the drivers stand I couldn't even control my car. It was Kevin's first ever R/C race. With me getting a late start he was bacialy thrown into the fire with no track time......

Anyways....will probably see you all next Saturday night...for some more good laughs and good times.....

Thank you BDDelbert2 for the praise... It was nice to meet you guys... drop in anytime. ( Dave ) <--- owner.
I moved all the 18th scale racing to the saturday night lineup now.. seems no one like the idea of racing on sundays.. oh well...... but the 18th scale 500 will be saturday also but will start at 2pm in stead of 5pm with the others.
Its still going to be fun. ;)
Guess I need to check this forum a bit more often.. it was dead for so long I didnt think it was getting used at all anymore.. but Im glad to see its revived. :)

I think that everyone involved had a good time. I am still working on the touring car, hopefully I can get it a little better before the points start. Looking forward to this weekend.
