I was just talking yesterday to somebody that races over there and he told me that the EPIC ROAR stocks were approved and sound like it was a sealed deal to have them be the handout motor for the NATS.. hmmm cupdriver 07-29-2004, 03:18 PM Tuesdays Race Results (http://triclone.net/tuesraceresuts72704.htm) Drivers Gallery Now Up and Running (http://triclone.net/gallery.html) Need a great set-up ask Dave. Can't make it to any of the club races....so track time is minimal except for practice time at the nats.....Can anyone help me??? Kris Fowler KGF MOTORSPORTS chuck47 08-08-2004, 12:26 AM I sure sounds like the track is going to be fast for the Nationals I'm pumped it'll be alot of fun for sure. I'll be gettin there on Wednesday so I can give you guys someone to practice driving around and hone your skills. Krisfo 08-08-2004, 01:48 PM I know I've aked the question before...I have a KSG car and kinda needed some help with a basic setup to start with. I have never raced Tri-Clone before.....need to know oils, springs...roll center....a little rear steer...stuff like that....what bodies work ..what don't......I know this is a national event and everyone wants to do well, but somone has got to be a good sport and help a "NEWBIE" to the track?????? Kris PS Any help would be a big step in the right direction for me..... haysreeling 08-08-2004, 02:39 PM I don't run a ksg but maybe this will help. Try Starting with blue side springs with 30wt oil, in the second hole from the bottom. Silver center spring with lots of preload 70 or 80 wt oil and a #3 piston. Two green springs up front or a red on the LF, preload them ateast .030". Bottom hold of the right caster block, Top hole of the left caster block. I think Danny B and Bill Sullivan have been running middle wheelbase. Lots of guys have been running the Mcallister Intrepid with the big Thunderwing. Don't be afraid to ask anyone at the track, there are alot of guys that race there weekly that would be willing to help. Could one of you fine gentlemen (I use the term loosely) give me an idea of what kind of gear ratio you were running, not rollout, but gear ration. I have a feeling that this is going to catch on. Thanks, AJ hefty12 08-30-2004, 11:17 PM I ran a 44/108. I would come back with about 20-30 seconds of runtime left @ 30 amps on deadshorted packs. AJS 08-31-2004, 09:20 AM Thanks Hefty, that will give me a place to start. AJ Bob Wright 08-31-2004, 05:48 PM AJS-I ran 47/112 about a half toooth from what Cory ran. haysreeling 09-01-2004, 12:58 AM AJ, I ran a 4300 stock set-up tonight in stock @ the Tri-Clone I practiced @ a 42/108, but it was too fast, I wanted to keep it competitive. The 1st race I ran a 38/108 gear w/a 34:00.something and if I were legal, would have been the track record, which Bruce Gayhart broke, then he was DQ'd for being 1/10 light, gotta hate it when that happens. He later broke it in the main. AWESOME run Barrroose. 2nd run I went down 2 teeth and 36/108 33:01 In the main I went back to 38/100 ran 33:01 after starting @ the back and jagging around. I think I can get 36 laps by going to 42 or more. This is awesome!!!!!!!!!! But I'm still shaking my head about the "Viagra Man". burbs 09-01-2004, 01:01 AM did he go 35 yet hays????? or a flat haysreeling 09-01-2004, 01:13 AM Burbs, he did not go 35, he did a flat and some change not sure how much though, but his car was DIALED, not bad for "old limpy", he's smelling that 35 real BAAAADDD AJS 09-01-2004, 09:20 AM Thanks for the info everyone. Is Scotty going to run the 4300 or the 5800 this winter? Barooose 09-01-2004, 01:41 PM Thanks Hays. That was AWESOME last night. I am gonna weigh both sets of tires and that MVPeepee to find out where that half ounce went. My car was 3/8 ounce over for nats and it came up 1/10 Ounce light after the first run.I would've been bummed- if not for the main. Thanks to everyone for giving me a clear track. WOOoooHOOOooo. Burbs, How many pieces of lead did you pick off my car? Just kidding, pal. BTW it was a 34,4:00.59 Also running a 19 turn in practice against Hays 4300 was Pretty cool. I think that a 4300 could do a 36 flat or slow 37. That's really close to the pace the 5800 ran at nats. Hmmmm???? cupdriver 09-05-2004, 02:08 AM Driver of the week.
