Great night for racing, a little breeze, few mosquitoes and NO RAIN!!! The turnout is increasing and we had 3 Stock qualifiers and 1 of 19 turn. In the main, Hays Sr. gave Wood all he could handle for the first minute or 2 after Wood spun trying to get off the line. Cory also spun off the line as the track had gotten a bit slippery after having lost 50 Degrees since late afternoon. There was a fair number of spins in 19 turn but once Cory got rolling he took the lead and never looked back. Mark Walzak won the B with a nice run. Everyone seems to be getting their cars dialed a little more each week. Hmmm, I think maybe I’m going to have to start working on Hays Sr’s car. Yeah, that’s it.

It was another fine night of racing at the Tri-Clone. I am not sure of the qualifying times, but these are pretty close. Dick (The Stiff One)Wood TQ'd in stock at 34:05 BIG Hays 33:03, Burbs 33:04,Dick Hooper and Pat Simkins about 33:06. not sure of the rest. 19 Turn Corey (Neutron) Heft 38:02, Hays Jr 38:04, with Brian Fairchild and Bob Wright not far behind. After some help from The Stiff One,and some good driving Mark Walczak won the B-Main @32:4.03, 2nd Perry Duchow 31:08.25 3rd Dave Jansen 30:02.94, 4th Eric Anderson 28:04,62, 5th Mike Schultz out w/problems. The A-Main was won by Mr. Wood with a good run of 33:04.01, 2nd Hays Reeling 32:00.62,3rd Pat Simkins 32:01 4th Scott Larsen 32:02.35, 5th Mike Burbey 32:10.35, Dick Hooper 31:01.51. Hooper and Burbey both spun out but their cars were fast. 19 Turn Corey 37:00.90, Junior 37:06,Bob Wright 36:00.53 Brian Fairchild had to get up early for work. Every one is getting faster and the racing is getting much better. It was good to see Perry Duchow and Scott Larsen again, and they also ran well. Once again the Jim Wick Select is Sat June 19th.Track will be open Fri,8:00 Am for practice, again on Sat 8:00 The one minute qualifiers begin at 4:00, with racing starting about 5:00.

Race 1 of the second annual Jim Wick Memorial Challenge is now history. I think Jim would have given it a hearty high five. The sun was shining, the breeze was blowing, the brats and burgers were frying and the smack was flying. Just the way he liked it best. With a good crowd and a fast track one would have to look very hard to find a better way to spend a Saturday. 4 heats of stock and 2 heats of 19 turn. If Jim were still around, he’d have been running both classes just because he loved racing so much.
I would like to know why more people didn’t attend though? There were some notable absentees from the grid. I would have thought everyone who could possibly make it would have been there as it was a perfect warm up for the Nats. Oh well.
19 turn upped the track record to 40 something, no that’s not an aging yuppie, that’s as in laps. The 19 turn main would have been better had two unnamed racers remembered to tighten their motors and wings before the main. L.O.L. It’s gonna take a while for them to live that down.
In stock several drivers posted personal bests on this day. Pretty cool. Hays the ancient one was very fast as was Ken Pepe. Dave Hilpert also came on strong and had some great runs. Congrats to all.
When it was all over and the trophies were being cracked open, the only thing missing was Jim and those thunderous high fives of his…….. .

WOW!!!! A great day of racing at the Tri-Clone for the 2nd annual Jim Wick Select. 33 drivers showed up, 24 stock & 9 19-Turn
We ran 4 qualifiers then had a tribute to Jim, lined up all 33 cars and then had a minute of silence. He was a great guy and racer and we all miss him.

A-Main: Dickless Wood TQ'd around 34:03,and won the A-main @ 34:06.73, and just had an all-around awesome day with some 6.6's & 6.7' (how I need to catch that man) 2nd Ken Pepe 33:01.75, 3rd Dave Hilpert 33:05.2, 4th Pat Simkins 33:05.33. Great runs for Dave & Pat, but we expect that out of Kenny!! 5th Hazy Reeling 32:02.6 (2nd in qualifying 34:04, (left me dumfounded and temporarily speechless) 6th Chris Repinski left early w/some problems, but had the Demon car going well all day.

B-Main:1st Mark Walczak 32:00.92, 2nd Travis Creapea 32:03.42, 3rd Mike Burbey 32: 05.78, 4th Lloyd Davis 32:05.78, 5th Buddy Paul 31:00.27 6th Mark Balisterri 31:04.04. I need to go back to work so I will finish this in a while!!!!!!!!

I forgot to mention the weather was great, so we thank Monti for not showing up and bringing that dark cloud that follows him.
All the guys in the B have stepped up and are getting better each week.

C-main: 1st Mike Simkins 31:03.41, 2nd AJ Strawn 31:07.02 3rd Scott Davidson 30:01.18, 4th Pat Hockers 30:01.30 5th Perry Duchow 30:02.69, 6th Dave Jansen 30:05.71. Nice clean race, good job boys.

D-Main: 1st Charlie Moon 30:00.72, 2nd Travis Heipp 30:03 3rd Mike Schultz 29:04.28, 4th Eric Anderson 28:03.13, 5th R Lutz 27:41.62, 6th Brant Anderson 25:00.39 Another good race with every body showing improvement.

19-Turn qualifying was FAAAAAST w/track records getting shattered Corey Neutron Heft going about 40:05, Brian Fairchild 40:06, Hays Jr 39:04,Bob Wright 39:04, Danny (Tom) Bartholomew 39:05, Mr Jeff Skomski 38:04. Sorry Sully, Mike & Scott, I do not have your qualifying times

Sully had a frustating day, but after Kevin (BSR)Kobac tuned him up his car was fast and driveable.

A-Main:Great race w/my boy Hays Jr (Wingman)leading after Corey's motor (see previous post) mysteriously loosend up.(Sully were you responsible for this?)Sully then threw the car to the "Prince of Pancars" POP, who immediately tightened it up and Corey was on his way The kid was on his way to making the old man proud until with less than 1 minute to go, his wing came off. ( see another previos post). That would be twice this week that happened. Needless to say he still made me proud, but not that proud. Brian spun early but came back and almost caught Bob at the end. Like Jim Wick would say "Another 3 laps and I would have got you"

1st Bob Wright 38:03.92,2nd Brian Fairchild 38:04.05, 3rd Wingman Hays 31 3:16.65,4th Motorman Corey 31:04.58 5th Danny (Tom) Bartholomew out w/problems

B-Main: Bill Sillivan 38:03.90, 2nd The Skominator 37:01.25, 3rd Mike Clement 37:06.72 4th Scott Murphy out early w/problems. Sully told me to remind everyone that he ran the fastest in the mains. So the POP helped him be fastest by .02 sec. Good job POP & Sully. This is a lot of work pecking at this. How do Kimbrough and McLin do those long posts? So once again thanks to everyone who raced and a special thanks to Dave Jansen, Dave Hilpert,Bob & Dennis Wachs for the excellent food and smooth race program, and another round of applause to BSR for the good tires and re-seal job. Finally we miss you Jim Wick.

After the big showing for the Jim Wick race, it was a light turnout out of 8 racers Tuesday night. Once again the Wooden one was fast, but Pat Simkins, who is getting faster ea week TQ'd @ 34 something, w/Wood 2nd ,Hays 3rd Corey Heft 4th, Hooper 5th and Mike Simkins, father of Pat 6th. Dave Jansen 7th and BoB Bendixen making his 1st race outside did alright. Keep at it Bob.
Corey was driving Buddy Paul's car trying to iron some bugs out.
When the Main came and the money on the line,Corey got ALL the bugs out, finishing 1st @33:01, apparently he didn't like the frustration of starting 4th behind us hackers!!! 2nd Dick Wood 33.07.21,3rd Hays Reeling Sr 33:07.37 4th Dick Hooper 32:05.69, 5th Mike Simkins 31:07.65, Pat Simkins 24:3:14 after tangling with Corey slightly.

The B had Dave Jansen trying to let Bob lead, but apparently Bob did not want it to bad!! Dave went 28:06 and Bob broke an A-arm kissing the wall. Kind of a quiet night, but fun non-theless

Whoops.... first time race report for the smaller Hays, but anyway there was only two heats of stock, and one heat of 19 turn. Stock qualifying had Ken pepe TQ at a 34 4:02, which was the fastest run this year in stock. Papa Reeling was second with a 34 4:03 sniffing TQ but just a little short, Chris Repinski and the demon car 3rd with a 34 4:06, Dave Hilpert 33 4:00, LLoyd Davis 32 4:01, and Tony Ballisteri making his return with a 32 4:01. Dave Jansen took the pole in the B with a 31 4:07, Bob Lutz was 2nd with a 29 4:00, and 3rd was Bob Bendixen with a 27 4:00

In 19 turn Jeff Skomski took the pole with a 39 4:00.49 awesome run for Jeff. Good to see someone else besides that Heft guy TQ!!!!!hehehe Corey wasn't far behind though with a 39 4:00.61, Hays Jr with a 38 4:00 and Bob Wright with a 38 4:03. Sully made an appearance but had a wedding to go to.

The A main in stock started off with a bang with Ken Pepe having the spins and "Old Man Reeling" wedging his car under the turn 3 wall, breaking his axle in the process. I thought cars were supposed to bounce off the wall on impact not stick to it and stop, but anyway that let Chris Repinski in the Demon car motor his way to a comfortable margin of victory with a 34 4:06, 2nd was Dave Hilpert with a 33 4:04 3rd was Ken Pepe with a 32 4:01, 4th Tony Ballisteri 32 4:04, 5th Lloyd Davis 32: 4:06. Dave Jansen won the B main with a 31 4:06, Bob Lutz was 2nd with a 29 4:05, and Bob Bendixen ran a 27 4:04 finishing in 3rd place

The 19 Turn main was pretty uneventful except for myself spinning out a few times. Corey Heft won it with a 39 4:02 , 2nd Jeff Skomski ran 39 4:05 and Hays Jr having some problems finishing third. Bob Wright had to leave early and was a DNS.

Hope to see everyone Tuesday!!!! Bring your rain gear that Panzica fella is coming!!! Hays JR

A few notes from Tuesday night.
Monti drove up from Indiana but pulled out early.
On the bright side, Monti’s curse as the “Rain Man” has come to an end. Monti came and it didn’t rain. Not one dribble. The gauntlet has been passed to an as yet unknown recipient. From Danny B to Monti to ????.

Bob Bendixen won the hearts of the fans for putting his car over the fence and landing it in their midst. They stood there looking at it for quite a while in wonderment, as if it had fallen from space.

Apparenlty Chris Repinski has had a birthday and the track was displaying a very large and lovely photo of him at about 350 lbs wearing a pink ballet outfit. Simply Stunning.

Cory’s motor stayed tight all night.

Little Hay’s wing did Not come off.

Wood cured his dizzying spin problem off the line.

Pat Simkins and Senile Hays both blew bearings in the main giving the win to Wood.

Cory and Brian Fairchild gave us some fantastic racing in the 19 turn A main passing and repassing each other until the wall found Brian’s car and ended his run.
Perfect weather and as Brian predicted a very fast track.

A fine Tuesday night of racing brought the 1st night of stringent weighing of cars.
All the winners of the heats and mains were weighed, with The Skominator being DQ'd
after winning the A-Main in 19T and Brian Fairchild after winning a qualiying heat.
They have a very accurate scale now.
The track was a little tight in the beginning of the night, many cars drove like dump trucks with a full load.

The TQ in stock was Hays Reeling 34:05.92, 2nd Jeff Skomski running the Demon car in stock 34:06.30
3rd Pat Simkins 33:00.16, 4th Dave Hitz 33:05.63, 5th Mark Walczak 33:05.78, 6th Dick Hooper 33:06.10.

B-Main Mike Burbey 32:04.27, Mike Simkins 31:05.57, Dave Jansen 30:04.72,
Pat Hansen making his 1st start of the year and bringing the evil scale 30:06.74
Eric Anderson 29:07.87, and Bob Bendixen with a good run of 28:07.36.

19-turn Corey Heft 39:01:.92, Brian Fairchild 39:02.19, Jeff Skomski 39:03.49, Bob Wright 38:04.44
and Hays Reeling IV bringing up the rear, 38:06.89.

For the mains, Hays told Dick Wood to stay home to learn how to spend his money, bolted in a Team1 motor,
strapped in a set of hi-performance Hefty Cells onto the Hyperdrive chasis and didn't step on his wang and won the A-main
with a 34:04.92. 2nd Jeff Skomski, Dave Hitz 3rd, Dick Hooper 4th, Mark Walczak 5th, Pat Simkins was fast but tangled with Jeff.

B:main: Dave Jansen won the B after cooking the fine food offered
at the track and tending to his administrative duties.GOOD job David.
Pat Hanson 2nd, Bob Bendixen 3rd, Mike Simkins 4th, and
Burbey went home early because he was slow
Eric Anderson didn't start

19-Turn:For the mains the boys dumped the loads from their dump trucks.
Jeff Skomski won with a 39:03.68 but was DQ'd by the evil scale after being very slightly light.
Corey 2nd at 39:06.06, Hays IV at 38:04.77, Bob Wright 37:04.56, Brian Fairchild 35:00.58

The Main results and standings will be posted on www.triclone.net soon by Shadow

It was a beautiful day last saturday and 21 guys came out to enjoy the midwests finest outdoor track. Stock Qualifying was blistering fast with Papa Reeling SR TQing and setting a new track record for Saturdays and this year with a 34 4:01.64, 2nd was Ken Pepe with a 34 4:03.64, 3rd Pat Simkins 34 4:04.63, 4th Chris Repinski 34 4:05, 5th Dave Hilpert 33 4:00, 6th Burbey 33 4:02, 7th Jeff Carlson 33 4:04, and making the show Mark Balisterri with a 33 4:04. TQing the B main was LLoyd Davis with a 32 4:00, Lance Paulsen, Tony B, and Mike Simpkins all getting 32 lap runs respectively, Dave Jansen ran 31 laps, and Bob Lutz and Bob Bendixen rounding out the field with 29 and 28 lap runs.

The stock A main got off to a very rough start with Hays SR spinning and collecting just about the whole field taking out Chris Repinski in the process, and damaging Pats, Burbeys and his own car. Ken Pepe went on to win the race with a 34 4:05, with Pat Simkins finishing second. The B main was a little rough too with numerous wrecks, but Mike Simkins managed to pilot his way to the front, keeping his car in one piece. He went on to win it with a 32 4:06.

19 Turn saw Corey Heft TQ with a 40 4:05 in his Hyperdrive machine, 2nd was Bill Sullivan in his KSG. Hays Jr qualifying 4th with a much faster car then the times show, had some motor/Speedcontrol issues with a 39 4:06, 4th Bob Wright with a 38 4:00, 5th Jason Hack with a 38 4:03, and 6th was Steve Goemens making his return with a 37 4:02. When the tone sounded for the main Corey jumped out to lead the first lap but needs to talk to his LR tire changer about getting all 5 lugnuts on because it proceeded to fly off. Which left Hays in the lead with a very hungary Bill Sullivan VERY close behind......(thats scary, heheheh just kidding Bill) I managed to hold the lead until about lap 15 when we swaped spots a couple times that lap and Bill managed to motor by. My car proceeded to DUMP at the two minute mark like it had done all day and Bob then got by. Bill Sullivan won it with a strong run of 39 4:02. Bob Wright 2nd 38 4:06 having some first lap problems and me with a pathetic 37 4:00 having some sort of electronic issue.

DON'T FORGET THAT THIS SATURDAY IS THE 2ND ROUND OF THE JIM WICK SELECT, TRACK IS OPEN FRIDAY FOR PRACTICE WITH RACING STARTING A 4:00 SATURDAY AFTERNOON. THIS WOULD BE A GREAT WARMUP FOR NATS!!!!!You can find upadated standings at www.triclone.net.

Public Service Announcement
We are missing a couple of racers. Big Mike and Little Mike Makus. They have not been seen since the end of spring carpet season. Big Mike can be recognized by the ever present calculator, caliper, tire rag and assorted tools always close at hand. And a quizzical look on his face (looking for another 1/100 of a second). Little Mike can be identified by an R.C. radio stuck to the side of his head and a ball of duct tape in his hand.. Any one with any reliable information as to their whereabouts is asked to call our special (1-800-lost-racer) hotline number. If they are not located soon we will be putting their pictures on milk cartons and bottles of Captain Morgans Rum. If anyone sees them, please tell them to report to the track. Thank you and now back to our regularly scheduled program.

For the 2nd race of the Jim Wick Select Series there was a great turnout, 40 drivers total came to enjoy the beautiful day at the midwests finest paved facility. Qualifying was very close and very fast. 5 drivers ran 34 lap runs in stock, 4 drivers ran 40 laps in 19T, plus one werido who managed to run 41. Plus something happend that may just cause hell to freeze over, that being both Hays' Tq'ing and winning the mains. Here's the Qualifying orders for the mains.

Hays Reeling da tird TQ'd with a 34/4:02.28, still shocking his son as hes done lately, 2nd was Pat Simkins running well with a 34/4:04.29 3rd was Bruce "I'm going to try something new" Gayhart hahahahahah with a 34/4:04.7, 4th was Buddy who has been running great lately with a 34/4:05.73, 5th Ken Pepe not running as well as he has been but still a good run and making the A with a 34/4:06.44.And Making the A in his 2nd race this season from Team 1 was Mike "I FINALLY FOUND MY CAR" Steinke LOL just kidding with you Mike, running a 33/4:00.63.

Because this takes a long time and there was alot of racers I'm just going to list everyone elses name. The B went like this: just missing the show by a few tenths and doing well Mike "I'LL SELL IT ON EBAY" Burbey. Chris Repinski, Dave Hilpert, Mark Ballisteri, Mark Walczak, and Pat Hockers making the trip from Green Bay all getting 33 lap runs.

The C went like this: Lance Paulson, Brant Anderson who has gotten much better since the start of the season, Scott Larson, Mike Simpkins, Perry D in his new Hyperdrive, and Travis C.

Andy Koback was on the pole in the D with Scott Davidson in second, LLoyd Davis, Pat Hanson, Ed Fisher, Travis Heipp, rounding out the D

Mike SHultz took the pole in the E with Bob "Shadow" Lutz running much better in second. If you havent' seen it yet Check out Triclone.net, Bob has done a great job on the site. Dave "GRILL IT UP JANSEN" third, and Eric Anderson rounding out the qaulifying for stock.

Hays Reeling da Fart Tq'd 19T with a track record 41/4:06.01, 2nd was JOhn Foister from BSR having an awesome run with 40/4:01.97, 3rd was Corey "DO YOU WANT MY CAT" Heft heheheh with a 40/ 4:04.67, 4th Bill Sullivan running well with a 40/4:05.72, 5th Jeff Skomski running a 40/4:06.38, 6th Brian Fairchild from Team 1 with a 39/4:02.20, and 7th running a 39/4:04.2 was Bob Wright.

There was a full heat of mod with Monti Panzica coming up from Indy and Tq'ing with a 43/4:05.45, 2nd was Paul Schwanbeck with a 42/4:01.52, 3rd was Kevin Kobak, not really getting a full run in with a 42/4:03..65, 4th was Jason Hack in his new Hyperdrive with a 42 4:05.19, and 5th was Dwight Smith with a 40/4:05, Kevin and Dwight had a little incident after the 2nd qualifier and Dwights Chassis Broke. Too Bad Dwight, hope you'll be back.

Slow day at work so heres the brief race report: I don't have the times but heres what I remember Smaller Hays TQ'd with a 34/4:00, second was Buddy Paul with a 34:03 or 04, 3rd was Pat simkins with an 34:04. Pat's car was extremely fast the 2nd round and probably would have run 35 but got caught up in traffic. Bruce was 4th with a 34/4:05 I think and the rest is a blur. The smaller one spun going into turn one in the main which let Buddy take the lead. Buddy somehow ended up with battery tape on his tire which led to an ill handling race car and gave the lead to Pat who then went on to win the main. Nice run Pat. Dick Hooper, Travis, and Mark Walczak had an excellent battle in the B with Dick winning it. Hope to see everyone saturday.
