jashack79 05-07-2004, 09:00 PM make sure you leave my name on the wall in turn 2, that way barooose knows what the white line is for.
i will be there to break in barooose's right side body panels for him.
barooose you're sick, just plain sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Barooose 05-08-2004, 11:55 PM Jason, as long as you're on my right side that's just fine, unless you're trying the outside pass. And what the heck is your name doing on the turn two wall? I don't know ANYBODY that's crashed there. L.O.L.
triclone-dave 05-09-2004, 08:32 PM That is good Barooose play dum was it Jason had a 1st class or 2nd class ticket to the wall.
bohndryracing 05-10-2004, 10:53 PM those 1st class invites to the wall are horrible !!! just HORRRRIBLE!!! what does a guy gotta do to get a (get away from the wall free) card ???
Barooose 05-11-2004, 09:00 AM Yeah. I had only been racing a couple years when I had a big "invite". In the main on the tone my car takes off hard left accross the infield wide open heading for the wall between 2 and 3. I'm freeking out, looking at my radio and turning the wheel and putting on full brakes but nothing happens. My car smacks the wall and comes flying back accross the track about five feet in the air and ends up at Dave H.s feet, with smoke rolling out of the wheelwells. I think that was the last time I used that old Airtronics radio.
bohndryracing 05-11-2004, 11:28 PM last year was my first time ever on the clone, actually my first time on asphalt also,my invite was due to my friend jeff bapps glitch he supposedly got everytime jimmy or i were passing him heehee (co-inky-dink) hmmm
bohndryracing 05-11-2004, 11:37 PM oh yeh,and my second invite was during the main one beautiful tuesday night,i had a funny twitch off of turn 3,definately caught my attention, and sure enough the very next lap going into 3, i turned left, but my car decided to go RIGHT!!! wowserz,it bout landed up by dave in the scorers booth,,,heehee (pssssst, hey barooose,i bought a new radio)
Barooose 05-12-2004, 08:44 AM I feel your pain brotha.
triclone-dave 05-12-2004, 06:03 PM Saturday Iam there:dude:
hefty12 05-12-2004, 10:18 PM Me too!
Monti007 05-13-2004, 12:13 AM Hey I was thinking the 29th I would come up and bring the rain and maybe race! Do you think we can get a good croud together?
-Monti-
triclone-dave 05-13-2004, 07:56 PM The track is all sealed up and new lines painted for the Nats and this summer in a word sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeet
 Did I hold it to long no it is that good!
JW would have liked it and GK:(
bohndryracing 05-14-2004, 01:01 AM i have a question ? what time will things start on saturdays during the regular season ? please say like noon :-) you guys have fun this weekend, jimmy b and i are going to farley iowa for the woo late models
Barooose 05-14-2004, 08:50 AM Monti, I would think things would be in full swing by the 29th. It looks like that will be the first day I get to show up too. The track sounds like it should have heinous grip this year and should be super fast. WOOoooHOOOooo.
Dave, you must be out of breath with that last post.
Bob Wright 05-14-2004, 12:16 PM Ron I think last year we started @1 or 1:30 don't think there will be any change this year.If you keep going to watch the big cars you won't be gettting any faster.LOL.
cupdriver 05-14-2004, 02:21 PM Dave, Will you be at the track sunday as I have to do some yard work saturday. All the rain we had, I could cut the grass and bail it. Dave J would you be interested in a couple bails for those cows across the road. Maybe if the wife and I get it done earlier I could make it later saturday and try out the new soft walls.

triclone-dave 05-15-2004, 09:44 PM The first day on the track with the cars and had alot of bite and tire wear.
Barooose 05-15-2004, 11:48 PM Need more details Dave. Who else was there?
Bob Wright 05-16-2004, 08:48 AM Bruce nobody with your race reporting skills was there.I'll try to fill in the details that Dave left out.
The sun was out but it was a little breezy making the pit area somewhat chilly but the track temp was in the low 90's for most of the afternoon.Besides myself,Cory,Jason Hack,Sully and Hays JR ran 19T.Cory had the fastest run of the day with a 38-4:05 and Jason and I both ran slower 37's.Lloyd,Mark Ballesteri,Hays Sr and Lance were all there.I had the fastest stock run while shaking down my new "Blue" car with a 32-4:05 with a 12 sec lap.The track has a lot of bite with the new sealer and tire wear was excellant. All the front tires I ripped up last summer smoothed right out after a couple of runs.I also tried a variety of chemicals for traction compounds with the old standby Tire Buffer producing the best results.I had my digital camera along but was having a good time playing with the cars that I didn't take any pictures,I didn't even stop to sample Mr Jansen's brats and burgers which is odd because us fat guys need to eat every 2-3 hours or we lose our figure.
Barooose 05-16-2004, 11:33 AM Excellent info Bob. By Dave's post I thought he meant alot of tire wear also. You better be careful about not eating often enough though. We don't want you looking like Sully. BWWaaaaHHhaaaaaaa.
bohndryracing 05-19-2004, 09:05 PM i hear ya bob on the big cars versus actually racing rc cars, and trust me,i need all the practice in the world, jimmy b is twisting my arm to run 19t,but putting my new ksg car in the wall going that fast is gonna stink, psssssssst hey bob, justincase i do run 19t,what kind of rollout am i looking for ? and count me in on the brat n burger at daves grill!!
Bob Wright 05-20-2004, 05:13 AM Ron I was rolling @ 3.00 with full timing.
chuck47 05-21-2004, 04:46 PM Sound like everyone is having a lot of fun I hope to make it down before the NATS I have a G-Force chassis, Terminator 2 and Pro which is working best?
Bob Wright 05-23-2004, 10:16 AM Anybody get any laps in yesterday?
jashack79 05-23-2004, 10:40 AM Yeah track was dry all day. Track was still pretty fast Bill ran a 37 I had better car this week and I think I could of went 38, but had problems with traffic. Track temp made it up to 90. There was still a lot of grip even though it was colder. It was still a good day to learn about the track and the surface. I ran about 10 packs on the same 4 tires and they look fine. Next Saturday should be awesome!
Jason
Are you guys going to allow the Binary Quad in Stock at the Jim Wick Select?
Hope to make it up for at least one.
AJ
Barooose 05-26-2004, 09:07 AM AJS. On March 23rd Dave J. posted that the Triclone would not be allowing the binary for the weekly shows and I can only surmise that would cover the Wick races as well. I like the binary but see no reason to run it when it's not Roar legal, especially with Nats coming up.
Hope you and the boys can make it up at least a few times this year.
Dave J 05-27-2004, 07:56 AM AJS, Bruce is correct only ROAR approved motors in our stock class. The track will
be open on Fridays all day for practice for the JIM WICK SELECT races. Looking forward
to seeing you guys again!!!
Dave J.
Thanks Dave and Baroose, still working on making arrangements for the JW race.
Later
AJ
triclone-dave 05-28-2004, 06:00 PM I was just at the track setting up the one car one min qualifer on the computer and the weather looks great but we all know it is Wisconsin. http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/null
jashack79 05-29-2004, 10:30 PM dave j said the track is open monday, weather should be good. anyone interested.
triclone-dave 06-02-2004, 05:05 PM I was not there but what about Corey turning a 6.1in stock class that is a 19 turn lap time? Where is Barooose
Barooose 06-02-2004, 05:39 PM Cory is the king. L.O.L. Seriously, he is Faaaaaast.
hefty12 06-02-2004, 10:12 PM The lap was actually a 6.6..only one. I didn't sniff another one the rest of the night. Bruce I may be fast, but Bruce was faster.
Barooose 06-03-2004, 01:35 PM I think in the next couple weeks records are gonna start falling, if it stops raining. Tuesday night Cory was only about 2 seconds off the record with basically a cold green track. Not too shabby.
Bob Wright 06-03-2004, 08:34 PM 6.6??????????
I'm lucky to do that with a 19T motor.
Barooose 06-06-2004, 12:43 AM How about a report from one of the privileged people who got to race on this beautiful day, finally. How fast was the track?
Bob Wright 06-06-2004, 09:16 AM You're right Barooose it was a beautiful day with track temps over a hundred degrees early in the afternoon.Four 19T cars were entered with Hays JR and Jason being AWOL.Eleven cars in the stock class.
In 19T qualifing Cory TQ'd with a 39-4:04 with Skomski also doing a 39 lap run,Sully and I were both a few seocnds back @ 38-4:01.Dave Hilpert was stock TQ with a 33-4:04,I believe, with Lance,Chris Repinski and Hays SR also runnnig quick.
Do to running 1 minute qualifiers, computer problems and waiting for Skomski to charge a new pack after he had some cells vent I had to leave before the mains started so someone else can fil in the blanks there.
Cory and I both ran three blues and a green LR and I believe Sully was on new pinks on the left and blues on the right.Don't know what Skomski was running. The stock guys all ran a hodge podge of tires. No said anything about any abnormal tire wear.My tires looked great and I was using laquer thinner to clean and GM for traction.
Also Dave Jansen's burgers are in mid season form so I was able to keep my fat intake at the proper level. All in all the best day we've had for racing this outdoor season.
triclone-dave 06-06-2004, 10:14 AM Yes Barooose it was a cold day in ---- I did TQ:hat:
Barooose 06-06-2004, 12:00 PM Good job Dave. That falls right in line with all the apocylipse movies like "Day after tomorrow". Hahahaha. Good to see you're running well. See you at The Wick.
cupdriver 06-07-2004, 02:36 PM Hope this is not a dumb question, but when I left Sunday I oberserved tha Dave J. had a wire soldered across the terminals of his batteries. WHY and what for? Does it do any good? Should I do the same?
schmelme 06-08-2004, 12:15 AM FYI I am still alive and the noose is loosening. LOL The wire between the terminals on his battery is to dead short the pack. A simple answer is this increases voltage and reduces runtime slightly. The battery is first discharged then the pack is put in discharge tray to bring all cells as close to zero volts as the tray will allow. As for you starting to short your packs i would say no unless they are new or almost new reason being is they will false peak for a long time after you start shorting them. I think 90% of the guys are shorting there 3300's. Hope this helps
Karl Schmeling
PS I'll be ready for the first wick race.
dannyd 06-08-2004, 09:01 PM Just bringing this to the top...
AND-- I have started the build of the new car, you guys better be ready
danny
Barooose 06-09-2004, 01:43 PM Good to hear from you Karl. Good luck getting that noose off. Track is absolutely great.
Oh yeah, Cupdriver,Make SURE the batteries are down to zero volts before putting on the wire. At this point I would not reccomend it for you as practice and getting your car dialed in is far more important than the small gain in voltage. Practice, practice, practice and LISTEN to what the fast guys like Cory etc tell you. have fun.

I know your right, going to try something this weekend. Seems the car isn't too bad it just the guy behind the wheel, going to to put some kind of mark somewhere so I know when to turn and hit my line all the time. I listen to the fast guys, but still keep driving like Todd Bodine, crash crash crash.
hefty12 06-12-2004, 12:11 AM Look out! The Skominator says he is going to lay it down in stock and 19 turn tomorrow. Sounds like he will be a busy guy. I guess that's one way to quit smoking.
cupdriver 06-14-2004, 02:37 AM http://www.geocities.com/cupdriver8/triclone/results.html
