It wouldn't be such a problem if the track was closer to home.... I've got my crap packed for tonight, but have to see if the storm blows over?? If it's raining, I'm out.... Barooose 08-09-2005, 01:28 PM Oh yeah. He's already got his excuse for not showing up. I bet if I offered to by dinner he'd be there. But I can't afford to anyway. Hahaha grif 08-09-2005, 01:47 PM No more excuses!! Barooose... get your game face on!! Race is on tonight!! Hurricane Racer 08-09-2005, 09:35 PM What is the standard for batt trees this year? burbs 08-09-2005, 10:26 PM 3300's only.. if thats what you are asking Hurricane Racer 08-09-2005, 10:43 PM That was the question! Anyone have an idea what we are running this winter? I know I have asked this time and time again, but can someone post the following setups for KSG: Castor Castor mounting hole Springs for Silva Sides, HPI center Rear wheel base Tweak Thanks! Hope to make it out for the JW race! NH haysreeling 08-10-2005, 01:36 AM Neil, I don't run a ksg, but maybe if you can contact kevin koback he might be able to help you out a little more then this.... From what I know tho....... I would start with 2 deg LF castor and 4 on the RF.Top hole on the LF, bottom hole on the RF. HD monte carlo body, either middle or long wheelbase. Start with silver side springs, 30wt oil. silver center spring, #3 70wt. 300 g on the LR. line the left side tires up, and keep the RR out no more then a 1/4" from the RF. 3 deg of camber on both sides. .063 bias cut tplate. I think that would probable be a good base setup, if you cant get ahold of Kevin. Your tires will be the key though, make sure they aren't real dried out before you get to the track. If they are try soaking them in GM. I would use either GM, or 50/50 GM/Tire Buffer mix for tire trac. If you need any help at the track all u have to do is ask. Hope to see you. Hays Jr Hurricane Racer 08-10-2005, 09:22 PM Nice, thanks for the info Hays! Just the detail I was looking for! Tires - I only have my tires from Nats. Will have to bum off others if I need different compounds, as $$ is tight! Thanks again Hays burbs 08-10-2005, 10:20 PM your nats tires are the right ones.. just get them re wore in.. softer the better.. grif 08-11-2005, 08:38 PM ooooohh!! Burbey likes it soft!! wiscentral52 08-11-2005, 10:50 PM Grif likes it hard and stinky!!!!!!!! :freak: dwcnascar 08-11-2005, 11:41 PM Hey guys I am in appleton how long would it take to get down to the triclone? Hays Jr Hey Hays JR -- What do you think about spring steel t-plate vs. bias cut fiberglass at Tri-Clone ?? I was thinking spring steel would help get the car off turn 1 quicker (stock class). haysreeling 08-15-2005, 01:42 PM I would start off with a 0.63 bias cut tplate, and if your car feels a little lazy you could probably try a double slotted spring steel, or hyperdrives spring steel tplate. I was running a SS tplate at the beginning of the year but felt as though my car was loosing a little forward bite off of turn 1. I've ran well with both, but would probably start with the bias cut. TeamGoodwrench 08-15-2005, 02:28 PM OK.. thx Hays. burbs 09-04-2005, 04:05 PM JUST TO LET EVERYONE KNOW, THERE IS NO OVAL THIS YEAR AT TRACKSIDE .. I had heard it from josh who works at trackside, and i guess sully just called and CONFIRMED it.. suposedly Scotty said he just doesnt see it being worth running.. TeamGoodwrench 09-04-2005, 05:04 PM Yep... I figured that's what would happen there. So... Tri-Clone and Dubuque IA for rug racing this winter. 17driver 09-05-2005, 04:03 AM At least we have a couple good tracks left. grif 09-05-2005, 08:00 PM I just had a "talkin to" from Bob at hobbytown here in oshkosh. He said that he probably won't run oval on thursdays either. He said he doesn't get enough turnout. I also took a look at RoadRage in greenbay, and don't see anything on thier calendar for oval?? Hey 17Driver... did you get my gift?? I left it in your purple tote... wiscentral52 09-05-2005, 08:35 PM Grif ate 4 brats on Sat. and left you a big STINKY!!!!!!!!!!! :freak: SHOWTYME 09-05-2005, 11:07 PM Will Tri-clone still race every other week this winter or will it change now that trackside killed their program. If there is any racing at alll. hefty12 09-05-2005, 11:12 PM I just had a "talkin to" from Bob at hobbytown here in oshkosh. He said that he probably won't run oval on thursdays either. He said he doesn't get enough turnout. I also took a look at RoadRage in greenbay, and don't see anything on thier calendar for oval?? Hey 17Driver... did you get my gift?? I left it in your purple tote... I don't see how he doesn't get enough turnout. With the Stampedes, trucks, Delphi, and pancars he was getting at least 20-30 entries. A lot of the times there was more. That is unless he figures that the trucks and Stampedes will go to the dirt oval and not worry about the pancars. Bob told me a few weeks ago they needed someone to run the oval program because he was running the road course and dirt oval programs. Jess told me he volunteered to run the oval program. Maybe things have changed since then. I will support the track that supports oval. I will run West Bend as much as possible. Dave J. and the crew do a great job and I appreciate it. The atmosphere is second to none! hefty12 09-05-2005, 11:17 PM Will Tri-clone still race every other week this winter or will it change now that trackside killed their program. If there is any racing at alll. West Bend will run every other Saturday. Dave said the track will be open Friday nights for practice. Sully told me that Dave also got some extra Saturdays that were open from the building not being used. I think it starts Oct.22. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. haysreeling 09-05-2005, 11:30 PM Also, as of now i think the plan is to run brushless instead of 19t. Unless the demand for 19turn is huge we may as well keep it to 2 classes instead of 3. Anyone have any other thoughts on this? I know corey, and sully were planning on running it. If anyone needs a system let us know and we will give you a good price on on. Hays Jr schmelme 09-05-2005, 11:35 PM Hello boys sucks you guys are loosin turf. I havent heard anything from roadrage on the oval racing this winter i'll post something if i hear anything from Jason. I hope HTO at least keeps running the thursday show 10-20 guys is better than none im my opinion just have bob pay one of his cronys to run the computer. see ya Karl Schmeling pmsimkins 09-06-2005, 12:46 AM I never knew that 6 offroad cars was better than 20-40 oval cars! (Sarcasm Intended) On the bright side if there are fewer tracks maybe there will be larger turnouts at the ones still running. I think maybe we were slicing the pie too many ways before. I heard that AJ's was also planning to run opposite Trackside. Does anyone know if there is any possibility that they would change that now since Trackside isn't running? That way West Bend and AJ's would not be on the weekends. I know West Bend cannot change due to the building being rented and the schedule set. Just a thought. hock 09-06-2005, 09:22 AM last I heard was buddy was talking to Raod Rage about it. but I've been so busy that I haven't had time to get back and check with him again. I know that was the plan but I've been so busy with work and football for about 2 more weeks. 'then it will lighten up for me wiscentral52 09-06-2005, 12:44 PM I JUST HOPE THAT WE CAN GET A PLAN SET IN STONE FOR THE TRACKS IN THE AREA. i KNOW THHAT DAVE J. IS WORKING ON IT. I GUESS WE WILL HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE.I DO THINK THAT IT IS PRETTY BAD THAT TRACKSIDE HAS CANCELLED THEIR OVAL PROGRAM, WELL I GUESS THAT ''ALL'' MY BUSINESS WILL BE GOING TO LEFTHANDER. I ONLY SUPPORT THE ONES THAT SUPPORT THE HOBBY!!!!! Dave J 09-07-2005, 11:02 AM If you would like to check the carpet racing schedule go to www.jansenpark.com click on park calendar the dates are listed. I also reserved Fri. Nov. 25 so we will be able to race if Trackside does not hold the event. We will have more info on the track web site soon www.triclone.net Thanks for your GREAT support Dave J. jashack79 09-07-2005, 07:28 PM I am sad to see all the tracks dropping their oval programs. Scotty always ran a good show and he always seemed to have fun with us and Sully too. I will try to do my best to support the remaining tracks. Kevin at the Den in Monroe says he is going to adjust his program to make it more adaptable for out of towners. I also started a new thread for oval racers in WI. I hope we can use it to promote events and tracks in and around our state. I also want to invite everyone to the 1st annual Den Raceway Go Kart Challenge at Sugar River Raceway on Tuesday night Sept. 20 in Broadhead, WI. Sign up is at 6 and racing at 7. These are real racing go karts with 9 hp Honda engines, with no restrictions or governors. The cost is $60 for racing and all saftey gear provided. For more info you can check out www.sugarriverraceway.com for go karting and rentals.
