As always before I do a trade with someone I always check things out. Not that I don't trust some people, I don't trust anyone!, without good reason of course. I started getting E-mails from someone and curiosity got the better of me and I found they have just signed up 3-08-04 with no posts! This persons E-mail seems familiar to me and the person seems to be awefully eager to trade... Hummmmm. Anyone else have this happen? I would hate to out an honest person, but something smells here...I just showered so I know it's not me.

I just signed up recently and haven't posted till now.Mainly read what's goin on here here.Just recently got interested in X tractions.Raced patriots and other mag cars.Back went bad and can't race anymore,been off work and very bored, but can't stay away from HO"s.Buy and sell a little on ebay,"snarf5760". One basic rule of thumb if I get to feeling funny about a deal is I'll have the person e-mail me some references from previous trades. If they have no references then I have them ship first.....after I've shared my trade references with them. I only really do this if it's a larger trade......smaller trades I wouldn't worry about it.

Also......I don't always use Ebay feedback as trade references.....simply because I've known people to have a spotless Ebay record...and then screw the hell out of traders.Ebay you're bound by a contract to pay once you win an auction......with a trade you're bound by your word......some people have a bad time keeping thier word.....hence my reasoning behind wanting more than Ebay feedback sometimes ;)

I haven"t really done any trading so I don"t have any real references to go by.You are right about most of ebay feedback though.I have to watch my trusting nature or I can really get stuck.
I just got a AFX 55 chevy,yellow,that looked good in the pics, but when I got it,two body tabs were broken off.My fault for not asking.I hoping to find a way to fix it,looks great really.If you look at MY feedback you can kind of tell though.It"s more than just good ebayer.It"s like wow, better than your description or was every thing you said it was.

I have the red X nomad,now I want the green one. I'm just buying what I can,on ebay" at a reasonably price to resell and try and make a couple bucks to reinvest.Kinda slow doing it that way.

I just about finished selling out what collection I did have.50 cars or so."not much trading material left",some afx"s ,few tycos,2 lifelikes,beat up bodies,couple of patriots,one patriot that Wizzard built for me, chassis rims etc".I do have a 440 X2 in the blister,Earnhardt#3,the body is a Pontiac though! Another one I would like to keep but must part with! Sell or trade for some X's I want.

My best deal,sunburst nomad bought for .75 cents"rummage sale" and sold for over $200.MAN I wanted to keep that car!! Just had to brag about that deal.

Like I said,I bought my first X traction 57 nomad and have a few more of the furious cars coming.I"m into nomads and 55 chevys though.Wonder why they didn"t make any 56 chevys?

I had to quit racing so it was nice to find this board and read about something other than racing.I would like to collect a few choice cars to play around with and not have to invest a ton."CAN"T" I just had to order the poly motor mags for the 57 though just to see what happens, LOL Sorry about all the rambling on.Thanks for listening.Merl

Hey Merl, what Xtractions are you looking for? I'd be interested in trading for that '55 Chevy body with the broken tabs....as long as the rest of the body is straight :thumbsup:

The body is Great.Chrome is great.That"s under a magnifying glass.Motor sounds good.Runs good,doesn"t sound like a killer.Under the glass you can see where it has been played with,minute ruffness of the paint on the roof that you can"t see without the mag glass."no thru the paint scratches",but I haven"t buffed it yet either.

I'm looking at a case of X's on ebay right now for $56.00. Has both nomads monte carlo or lumina? I was just gonna sell off most of them to pay for the ones I wanted.I have 1 hour and 56 minutes from now to buy.

I really want the green nomad,grand national,red mustang cobra jet in that order.

Those cases pf XT's are REALLY a great price on Ebay. That seller must have a LOAD of those and the Tjets. I only have one black GN in my collection......and I'd prefer to keep it to be honest.....and I don't have the other cars you mentioned. I've got XT's from the F&F series.....that's it.......otherwise I do have some of the JL snap on bodies....brown Nomad,black with gold stripes Mustang Cobra Jet......

Yep, I knew it was the whole magnatraction car......but I was only interested in the body....since it's body mounting tabs are broken......mainly because I want to Tjet that '55 body. I've already got one other custom '55 AFX body that I did body work too,painted, and stuff an AFX specialty Magnatraction 4 gear chassis underneath :thumbsup: I just love the '55 body......and figured since yours was missing the mounting tabs that I'd see if you want to part with it....no biggie though ;)

Merl, to be honest....I see AFX 55's in clean condition go in the $20-$30 range all the time on Ebay......but the one you have won't fetch that range (or shouldn't I should say) because of the tabs if you DO repair them.......repaired tabs may keep some bidders away....just wanted to let you know.

Here's a pic of my custom 4 gear AFX '55 ..... I still need to buy a pair of reproduction bumpers and grille to complete this car...

I have sold one for $31.00 + shipping already that didn"t have the body this one does.
I have seen them go higher and I have seen them go lower.I should get $20.00 out of it.If I don"t,oh well. Some days it wouldn"t bring $10.00 Ebay is crazy from week to week.Just has to be the right week.
The person that sold it to me didn"t bother to tell me about the tabs.

I bought that case of JL X's on ebay.Couldn"t pass them up. Might not see them that cheap again for awhile,then again.........

Oh yea,I was gonna say,I saw one goe for $25.00 that didn"t have any tabs.
They said the body still fit snug.....yea right super glue...
