If you are interested in a TC3 Oval Chassis send me an E-mail so we can get a waiting list going. tony@precisionracingsystems.com Pro-lite spurs should be available the beginning of April. Tornado_Racing 03-11-2004, 01:47 PM How many of you TC3 Touring Oval guys would be interested in a set of Front and Rear aluminum A-arms mounts for $35.00 shipped? They retail for $25.00 a pair. This is what you would get: Front 5 or 7 degree aluminum a-arm mount pair Rear 0 degree toe/1 degree anti squat a-arm mount pair Both sets of mounts include the front and rear mount. The mounts will also have a delrin balls that the hinge pin fits and then is assembled in the mount. Let me know what you guys think. Tony/PRS Tornado_Racing 03-11-2004, 01:56 PM Here are some pics of the arms mounts. wagonman72 03-11-2004, 06:26 PM Man those are nice too! Tornado_Racing 03-12-2004, 10:38 AM Here are some pics of the upper deck bigdon18 03-12-2004, 12:24 PM sweet,,, BIGDON jbm38 03-12-2004, 07:53 PM When will it be available? wagonman72 03-12-2004, 08:09 PM Have you thought of not having the top brace extend to the right side of the chassis, nothing to hold up over there. Just a thought. Tornado_Racing 03-12-2004, 08:47 PM Here are some pics of the 2 piece rear body mount. The kits should be available later next week. We decided to copy the on-road upper deck because we wanted to keep the upper deck and chassis as stiff as possible. If we narrowed the right side that would allow more flex. We may offer different top plates to allow more flex for concrete or dirt oval racing. Mike Wilson 03-12-2004, 08:49 PM Man that thing just keeps getting better and better. Tornado_Racing 03-12-2004, 08:54 PM Here is a pic of the oval upper deck that Jason just sent me. Let me know what you guys think. Tony PRS Tornado Racing John's BSR BMI Racing Chassis Tornado_Racing 03-12-2004, 08:57 PM Mike, You gonna make it to Sandhills this weekend? Tony Mike Wilson 03-12-2004, 09:01 PM Nope, Gotta work. Got a new chassis in this week, gotta get it ready to hang a body next week. Probably will have to work next Saturday as well. Keep the pics comin so i can keep up with how it is comin. May have to get one to run Snowbirds with next year. WoooHoooo, Three classes. Catch ya around Tornado_Racing 03-12-2004, 09:07 PM Here is the latest pic with the upper deck and rear body mount. Hey Mike, What is the new ride? Mike Wilson 03-12-2004, 09:11 PM Stock class car is now a KGB Assassin. Got a solid chassis comin for it now. Tornado_Racing 03-12-2004, 09:37 PM I want to check out the solid KGB chassis. I will see ya in 2 weeks then. Phillip just called and said he wants to get into this Touring Oval class. Tony Mike Wilson 03-12-2004, 09:40 PM Yeah, I just gotta come up with a real good reason why i would be building another car for racing. The Wife already thinks 5 is too many. But then again thats why i bought a radio with an 8 model memory right? More cars to play with. Tornado_Racing 03-12-2004, 09:43 PM I hear ya man................. Brooks is really excited about running the Touring Oval car. We may even have it up and running before Sandhills closes for the summer. Mike was telling me they may stay open until May............ Mike Wilson 03-12-2004, 09:46 PM That would be way awesome. Be able to do a little more carpet before summer time. Have to get some radials and go to Chatham with them. Tornado_Racing 03-12-2004, 09:50 PM I already talked to John at BSR and we have a set of Touring Radials waiting for us at the ARCOR Open. Yes BSR Touring Oval Radials. 30mm rim with low profile design. We will have blue nets on the right and green prolites on the left. No stager available though, but hey with 4 wheel suspension we really don't need stagger...................... Tony Mike Wilson 03-12-2004, 09:52 PM Well you just have all the bases covered dont you. Tornado_Racing 03-12-2004, 09:55 PM You have no idea.................... Big Big Big things are coming in the very near future. Tony swtour 03-12-2004, 10:24 PM I've got a TC3 RTR car that I've been wondering what to do with... I think this L/T stuff will be the perfect upgrade... Maybe this set up will help kick OVAL TOURING off more in our SWTour Series... Mike Wilson 03-12-2004, 10:42 PM Tony, I'll give ya a call when i get the Solid Assassin together and we can meet at Skips one evening and show off our latest rides to each other, if I dont make it back to Sandhills this season. McLin 03-14-2004, 03:29 AM I had a chance to see this new chassis today at Sandhills and i looks pretty nice. It is sure going to make it easy for the TC's boys to be able to try their had at Oval racing. Everything pertaining to the conversion kit look to be first class workmanship. Seven 03-14-2004, 10:52 AM Hey McLin, Do you ever sleep? LOL Seven 03-14-2004, 10:57 AM Oh yea, I got my RC12i put together and will be ready to make a few right turns with you at Thunder Road this Saturday. I made a few modifications to it and I think this 20 year old car is going to fly. I just need my body and 4-cell stick packs. They should both be here this week. McLin 03-14-2004, 11:50 AM Seven, when we go to Sandhills, it makes for a long day! LOL Cool deal on the 12th scale, hope to be there next week. Tony was there with his new chassis, it looks real good. It's one of those deals where the pictures don't look as good as the real car. LOL Tornado_Racing 03-14-2004, 11:51 AM Thanks Lin.......... I will do my best to get you a kit for the all new RCOVAL.com. Tornado_Racing 03-14-2004, 12:08 PM Lin has asked about a starting set up. I figure when the kits are released there will be alot of questions about where to start. Here is where Brooks and I are going to start with a chassis set up. BMI TC3 200mm conversion 190mm suspension on the left and 200mm on the right. .....FRONT SUSPENSION..... GPM 7 degree front arm mounts 50wt Trinity oil Associated 25lb copper TC3 springs Buds .078 swaybar Associated 0 degree caster blocks GPM Graphite Shock Tower LF Camber new hole drilled 1/8" up and in RF Camber outer bottom Shock mount top inner Shock mount bottom outer Axles level for ride height Droop (not sure yet) .....REAR SUSPENSION..... GPM 0 degree rear toe arm mounts 50wt Trinity oil Associated 25lb copper TC3 springs Buds .078 swaybar Losi 0 degree Hub Carriers GPM Graphite Shock Tower LF Camber new hole drilled 1/8" up and in RF Camber outer bottom Shock mount top inner Shock mount bottom outer Axles level for ride height Droop (not sure yet) I will also install the BMI 2 piece front bumper and 2 piece rear body mount. I have also upgraded to the NTC3 steering rack. The chassis comes drilled for the electric and the nitro steering. BMI will offer a 190mm and a 200mm TC3 conversion. This way it will give you guys a choice if you want to run your 190mm touring bodies. As a side note we will be starting a class at Sandhills next season and we will be testing the 200 and the 190 cars. As soon as we get some set up info we will post it here for you. We may even run outdoors with some "JOHN'S BSR TOURING CAR RADIALS"................ Any questions just holla' cneyedog 03-14-2004, 12:40 PM brooks and tony, ya know ..... you just gotta put up some pics to get us all worked up dont ya? .... that car looks sweeeeeet. Perhaps I'll have to invest in one of these bad boys and run that the snowbirds next year. This way if touring oval runs first i can run then goto bed....lol. Brooks, drop me an email with how things are goin. rich Tornado_Racing 03-14-2004, 01:09 PM Hey "DOG".............. We have 6 guys on a waiting list for the chassis. One guy wants one ASAP. It would be great to rub fenders with you and the "Fish" before the Snowbirds. Maybe we can mix it up at Charleston later this summer. Let me know what the "dog" and the "fish" think. Tornado_Racing 03-17-2004, 05:49 PM Here are some new pics with the Oval upper deck, motor mount, and nerf wing. Let me know what you guys think. burbs 03-17-2004, 06:53 PM thats one killer looking chassis kit..... i wonder how it would work on dirt oval to.... keep up the good work guys i like what i see gezer2u 03-18-2004, 11:27 PM Tornado- I think you are on to something. As you said on "hobby or sport" this is a way to get the onroad guys to race oval. As you can tell by the poll in Onroad, most of the guys that race onroad are will to spend thier $$ to run oval. I think this gives any body the chance to run oval by simply converting thier TC3 or buying a racer kit for $160, your convertion and start racing. Also, they already have batteries to use. Great idea!! My hats off to you! Tornado_Racing 03-20-2004, 10:36 PM Thanks for the kind words and feedback guys. We are considering a "Touring Car Oval Shootout" to run later this summer or early fall. This would be a one day race and winner takes all. Katfish and myself are going to work on this as far as track location (carpet/pavement), dates, prizes, entry fee, etc. We may contact some sponsors for a raffle or even a cash payout. What do you guys think about a 2 lap quailifier to set the heats up? We would use the same quailifing program as the Nextel Cup series to set up the three 5 minutes heats. We would use 6-cell, NASCAR bodies (no wings), 5mm ride height (carpet racing), foam, rubber, or caps depending on the surface, "ANY" 19x1 based motor. The arm must be a 19x1, but in any can, any endbell, any brush. The motor must be stamped 19x1 just as the current 19x1's are. No "hand" stamping using a sharpee. lol Just normal no non-sense rules. Let me know what you guys think and if you would like to participate in the "First Annual Touring Car Oval Shootout". pepe 03-20-2004, 10:48 PM Tony, You and Brooks be sure to look me up when you come to Carolina, can't wait to see how your car works.Brooks knows where I pit. Tornado_Racing 03-20-2004, 10:51 PM PEPE................. We will look you up. This Touring Oval program is an all new animal. Nobody has a really good feel for set up as this class is brand new. I do know what Katfish is running but it is so close to being stock there really is no "trick" set up yet. We will bounce set up ideas of each other so we can have a base line for new guys getting into the class. We really think this will take off with the right promoting and support. This will give the on-road guys a chance to mix it up with the oval guys. katf1sh 03-20-2004, 10:53 PM i just like to poke fun at the onroad nerds as much as i can. running a touring car on the oval is a great start! lol we need some help with this touring oval shootout.corally and BMI have made oval specific chassis one for the corally and the other for the TC3. it would be great to get a few key sponsors for the event to try and build a nice size class for this ..i think corally as well as PRS and BMI would be willing to help but i would think a few others might get involved. touring oval is in it's infant stages so there isn't a ton of guys running it yet..if we pump it up enough maybe we could get 50 plus racers? i'm willing to travel up for a event on the rug..maybe it could be held in conjunction with another oval event? i would like to see the ultrabird motors used to eliminate anyone getting ahold of some trick 19 turn and lay it down on us? either way i'm down.. now i need to use my jedi mind meld on some onroad nerds to sucker them into racing oval with us,lol...shouldn't be to hard.. oh yeah touring spec oval can use the new trinity touring car coming out..spec touring oval...hmmm burbs 03-21-2004, 05:02 AM how about brushless touring oval.... no need for handouts. as far as i know there is no way to tweak them motors.. everyone is in the same boat then... yeah it is a bit expensive... but no more then a two hundred dollar speedo and a nice handwound mod.. just a thought... i also think novak would be interested in jumping on board to promote the brushless.... this past year we had a the us touring champs by us,.... suposed to be the biggest sedan only race in the nation... anyway novak donated 30 brushles systems for the first 30 people who registered... at the end of the racing u had tio give them back but it was a cool promotional class... also the top finishers in ever a main got a brushless system.. and i belive top 3 in the brushless class got to keep them... from what i hear they are talking about novak doing this type of pan class at the paved nats... its a thought what do u guys think Tornado_Racing 03-21-2004, 08:14 AM Brushless systems would be great. Right now though we need to at least get the class going as cheap as we can. Maybe in the future a "brush" and a "brushless" class would be great. Katfish wants to use the purple handout motors for the Birds'. They are a really good motor, but we will continue to look at all available options. Please let us know what you guys think. We need your input to get this this rolling. BRDRACING 03-22-2004, 09:01 AM All I have to say is Bring it KatFish LOL pepe 03-22-2004, 04:34 PM Brooks, Now that I think about it, why not run in the pro spec class?if you can get it hooked up, see how it would fair against the pan cars.Wouldn't it be something if this turned into a new evolution of oval car design? BRDRACING 03-22-2004, 04:39 PM Well we would still have to run the 10 to 12 mod motors just becuase we are going to be so much heaver and we have less tire patch on the ground! But now if we go out there and run 6.0's we start changing things up to get the racing closer! But running touring oval we are going to be running 5min races so them running 50 laps will get us really close to what we need to be running! vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
