looking for a diecast Mazda RX-7...2nd generation.....

anyone?

1st gen. was end of the 1970s...

2nd gen was in the 80's

3rd is the one right before the RX-8...90's

this is an example, but way to expensive...looking to customize one for a friend... preferably a 1/64 scale...

The Matchbox is a first generation '79-'85. They had three variations on this model- no real spoiler '79, rear spoiler '82, and IMSA racer.

I went through an old inventory list and I do not have anything resembling what you are asking for. I did check last night and I just didn't see one. Sorry.

Tomica made a Gen 1.

Matchbox made the latest generation. Try the World Class and Premier series.

Tomica's made every generation of RX 7, plus earlier Rotary Mazdas and the current RX8. The RX7s have also been made in the more detailed "Limited" series.

Try www.toyeast.com if you can't find one on e-bay.

Try looking at the Jada Initial D series of cars. I have the 1/24th scale Mazda RX-7 FC3C 2nd generation car. They also make it in 1/64th scale. See the link at http://www.jadatoys.com/initialD164.html to see the car. With a change in colour, it should work out for you with what you have in mind. :)

I have a Motor Max model of third generation RX-7 in 1/24th scale. It comes in various colours. I have a green and red variation of it. There are a lot of models of the 3rd generation model if you start to look around placed like E-bay. You may have to look into repainting a model to get a match for your friends car.

Here is a link to the Motor Max site showing the RX-7. http://www.motormaxtoys.com/diyhp/15163/enus/p-AAAV+EAAVAAAv4HAAP/Mazda_RX-7.html

I like this one, from 1stopdiecast.com, but I've never seen it in the stores.

The maker is HotWorks Racing Factory and it's 1:24th scale. Look it up at ww.1stopdiecast.com

I think that there are two people looking for both 2nd and 3rd generations of this car. The posts can lead to a bit of confusion.

BBurago did make Mazda RX-7 in 1/43 scale. I'm not sure if they are still making them though.

Try looking at the RC2 Fast and Furious stuff. They make a 3rd generation RX-7 in 1/18th scale. One version is from the first movie and the other is second movie. Also try looking at places like E-bay to see what comes up.

If you are interested in getting this 1/24th scale RX-7 at some point in time, just let me know. It is an extra one that I really do not need now. I can give you a list of some items I am looking for as far as cars go that would be good as a trade.

Here are two pictures of the car. One small detail about the model is the drivers side door does not what to shut all the way in and stay there. Maybe it could be fixed if taken apart. It was like this since I bought it though. Otherwise it is not too bad a model of the car.

If you are interested, please contact me at stevbike@xcelco.on.ca to carry on the deal.
