kcobra 10-23-2005, 11:43 AM Had a blast racing last night. That "combo" pan car/mini-t class was fun. I'll definately be back this comming Friday and Saturday.
On a side note, if any of y'all know of a track looking for a RoadDomes/Rails, I have a set forsale. It's the small track pack. The set is in good condition, except for a few of the domes which are cracked/busted. I paid $590 shipped for them a year ago for the MARC track. Asking $300 + shipping.

chensleyrc 11-01-2005, 07:49 PM Well, Seems like we are getting into the winter racing season. Good and strong turnouts for on-road has pushed me to make a couple schedule changes.
Starting this Sunday November 6,2005 I will start on-road racing on Sunday's doors will open at 10 a.m. and will start racing at 2pm. Friday night's will not change, but Saturday nights will be for open practice (timed) opening at 6pm closing around 11.
Hope this works out for all of us, if not drop me line at chensleyrc1@sbcglobal.net.
MK Race 11-01-2005, 08:36 PM Hey Chris, will it be on-road only on Sundays?
chensleyrc 11-02-2005, 12:26 AM Yes, for now, I have had only one oval race since I opened, seemed silly to let Sunday go to waste. But Wednesday will still be oval if there is interest. And of course if things don't work out like this, I'm easy to deal with. It's just that we have had a decent turnout for on road, and things run late into the evening, so i was going to try this out for awhile. So I can get some sleep Saturday nights. Last week I didn't get home till 2am, and then had to be back by 9am for oval, luckily there has been no turnout or I would have been hurtin.
MK Race 11-02-2005, 12:52 AM I don't blame you at all Chris. Have you thought about starting a thread on the on-road forum?
rbauer_1 11-02-2005, 11:04 AM most of us 1/18 guys wont be there on sundays. i thought we talked about leaving saturday nights for racing too? this blows.
racerex1 11-02-2005, 11:25 AM 10 of us just bought the brp cars for racing on Saturdays.IMO Sundays are for lounging, family, and going to church. I don't think many will make it on Fridays.
Indoor is just getting started for most. I would give Saturdays more of a try and if the oval following isn't showing then bag it all together. I have heard that most of the original pontton following is done. Just my .02
kcobra 11-02-2005, 12:01 PM I would also like Saturday nights to be kept as a race night. I cannot make it consistently on Friday nights and I am not a fan of Sunday racing. As Jim said I believe most of the people that just bought the BRP cars expected Saturday night racing. IMO if you are going to do timed practice on Saturday nights then you might as well race. The program just needs to be tightened up where things start on time and keep moving.
Does Roxana have someone else that could split the duties of running the race programs between Friday and Saturday nights? That away the same person isn't stuck at the track so much. At MARC we always split the duties of running the program and it worked well.
chensleyrc 11-02-2005, 01:37 PM Hey guy's calm down, This is why I put this out here, we will be racing on Saturday nights as long as there is a interest, I just wanted to throw Sunday in the mix just to fill the day, as it seems the oval is not showing on Sundays. On Saturday nights I may have to go to a 2 qualifier's and a main just so we can get out of there by 12. I didn't know if that would be alright with the racers, so I was going with a timed practice night on Sat.-but if you want to race I will do the 2 qualifier and the mains.Sorry about the confusion.
kcobra 11-02-2005, 01:50 PM No problem. That's cool with the 2 qualifiers if that's what it takes to get out by midnight. Feel free to yell at any of us MARC guys if you need someone to run the computer or whatever. We will be glad to help.
racerex1 11-02-2005, 02:21 PM OK cool. After this weekend I will be at most of the Saturday Races I really think the saturday races will pick up to be a great day to race. What time do you normally start on Saturdays?
chensleyrc 11-02-2005, 06:06 PM Saturdays we open the doors around 5, sometimes earlier, I will let everyone know If I will open earlier here. Racing starts at 7:30
chensleyrc 11-02-2005, 06:13 PM Something else I was pondering, 3 race days ina row may thin out the crowd, so I was thinking of Sundays as a practice day instead of racing on Sundays. As you can see my delima's. Any one interested in that, or any suggestions will be appreciated.
chensleyrc 11-02-2005, 06:17 PM And I started a new thread in the on-road section of hobbytalk.
4SPEED 11-02-2005, 06:58 PM what night do the sedans an 12th run on, i would rather race on sunday if possible.do the guys that run sedans an 12th do they want to race on sundays.
rbauer_1 11-02-2005, 08:22 PM thanks chris. saturdays!!!! =)
racerex1 11-02-2005, 08:35 PM Maybe you could start earlier on Saturdays say open at 3 and race at 4-5 That would give a few more hours to get out earlier. You would have to have someone that could be there early though. Don't know if that's an issue though.
chensleyrc 11-02-2005, 11:04 PM You see every other week I work on Saturdays, like this weekend I am off Friday Sat and Sun, so I will open at 4 on Friday and Sat nights, but next weekend I can't open till after 5 since I work till 5 on Those days, hence my weird scheduling.
chensleyrc 11-04-2005, 11:49 AM Well to all thats interested, I will be at the track by 4 today (fri) and tomorrow (sat). I will actually be there today around 2 to redig my hole to repair the water leak
stumpy 11-04-2005, 06:33 PM See ya guys tomorrow at 4pm or so - looking forward to running my first 1/12th race in a very long time. Stumpy
MK Race 11-17-2005, 08:50 AM Hey Chris, I've got the new download for the Autoscore. I'll try to bring it over Saturday night.
MK Race 11-28-2005, 06:51 PM Hey guys got some sad news from Joe Marks just now.
Claude Warren passed away today. Claude really loved RC racing. Joe is going to call Franko and let him know, then maybe he can get more info.
Bob W 11-28-2005, 08:29 PM This is another sad day. May God bless Claude and his family.
God bless Claude. He was a big help to me when I was getting started in RC racing. My condolences to his family and friends. Ralph
racen4 11-29-2005, 12:40 AM our thought and prayers are with his family. Claude was always good to Ryan and myself. He did love the RC cars.
Randy& Ryan
tfrahm 11-29-2005, 12:42 AM Very sorry to hear the bad news... You guys have had more than your fair share of bad luck and bad news...
MK Race 11-29-2005, 02:17 AM Claude was a very likeable guy. Always had a great story to tell, seemed like he did everything there was to do. I think if the old saying is true "he who dies with the most toys, wins", then Claude won.
Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.
Maybe we can get a card and put it over at the track( yes it is open) for people to sign?
racerex1 11-29-2005, 12:25 PM Very sad to hear. He was a good guy. Would do anything for you. I am really going to miss him at the hobby shop. He made a weekly show here every friday to see what was going on.Fridays will never be the same. Claude will be missed. God bless him and his family. If anyone finds out any info on the funeral could you post them here.
Jim from Premier Hobbies
chensleyrc 11-29-2005, 03:02 PM This has been one heck of a year for all of us, very humbling. Claude will be missed by all, he always praised my driving, kinda made me proud to do good.
MERRY CHRISTMAS to all the old friends at "Pontoon" !!!! You guys still racing?Ralf
MK Race 12-27-2005, 02:07 AM Merry Christmas Ralf. Nobody racing oval at Pontoon anymore. The place was set back up and nobody showed up to run oval. So it is now an on-road track. There are still 5 of us that travel to Allen's once in a while or go to whatever big races there are out of town.
How bout you? Doing any racin?
Mike, I haven't raced since I was at Pontoon. :>( I am actually thinking of selling off the stuff I have. Will be heading through St. Louis to Farmington the weekend of the 18th-19th of this month to visit my Dad, his kidneys are failing and I don't know how long he will be with us so I am driving home for a weekend visit. I have a CW pan car that has a few dozen laps on carpet, a Novak brushless system with an additional 5800 motor that has never been run. A CW sprinter I bought on ebay that needs some chasis work but has a good roll cage with some new parts, Assoc TC shocks (new), and assorted other items. Futaba 3 channel FM. Also an almost brand new tire truer and some new clear bodies and decal sets. If anyone is interested let me know I could make up a complete list before I coe home and bring along whatever. I bought an electric Cessna 182 and have been teaching myself to fly in a hay field near the house, too cold lately even for that, Who have you been traveling with to races? Where you been racing and how have you been doing? Still regret having to leave racing with you guys, you all were the best, it is not the same around here. Ralph
MK Race 02-06-2006, 09:13 PM Hi Ralph, sorry to hear about your Dad. This winter it's been, Me, Bob, Mark, Todd and a guy you don't know, Rick. We have been going mostly to Allen's this winter. Bob, Rick, and I went to Omaha early in the fall, real nice place. I won the Stock class at that race, but most of the season in brushless I have sucked.
You haven't missed much of the Hockey season hear. The Blues are terrible, maybe the wife could make the team and you guys could move back. They are for sale and dumping players left and right. How close are you to the Hurricanes? You can see a couple of ex Blues there.
As for selling your stuff, send me a list of what you have, how much and we'll see what we can do. I can tell you there probably won't be much interset in town here.
Mike k1509@sbcglobal.net
B.A.D. Racing 02-07-2006, 10:32 PM Hey Ralph I might be interested in the decals. Let me know which ones you have. Carl
Bob W 03-08-2006, 09:19 AM Happy Birthday Mike !~!
The Big 50:jest:
chensleyrc 09-14-2006, 03:57 PM The indoor season is upon us, we are open and ready for foam or rubber tire racing, I expect turnout to be real good this season. As for when a big race is coming, we are working on that, trying to work around the bigger events, we know we are running one late in the season, but I want to get one together for late Oct, to early Nov. kinda a Cleveland warmup race.
The schedule is shaping up as follows:
Friday night On-road- opens at 6 pm registration starts at 6:45 and racing starts at 7:30.
Saturday nights- Oval-, open at 6, reg. at 6:45, and racing at 7:30
Sunday day will be alternating on road and oval, will post the rotation later, the doors open at 11 am and racing starts at 1pm.
Tuesday nights On-Road- doors open at 6, reg. at 6:45, and racing at 7:30
tuesdays may turn into a practice evening depends on the interest.
Any questions just drop me a line chris@hensleyrcraceways.com
