Hey Randy, good question. Allen wants to buy the carpet. If he doesn't hear anything soon he will buy new stuff from Calandra. I plan on racing there on Sundays and a bunch of big races out of town. If we do have a track in our area I will race just Wednesday nights or whatever day it is during the week.
Looks like brushless will be the big class at Allen's this winter.

Hi Mike. so Allen is going to have new carpet?? hmmmmmmmmm

even if we keep ours is he palnning on purchasing from Frank?
also what brushless system will it be or do you know?

Randy, Allen will buy the newest up to date carpet from Frank if he doesn't buy Pontoon's.

The system everybody is running is the Novak SS Plus with the 4300 motor. There are new Speed controllers coming out from LRP, Novak, and even Tekin. Sonny and Allen are trying to find out if there is going to be much difference between them. I just picked up a Novak SS Plus last weekend. The Iowa guys are saying it will be Novak SS Plus or the first controller and 4300 only for there 2 day race in Vinton in March.
I think brushless this winter will be big.

OK Mike I have a stupid thing to ask, it looks to me like the speed controler for the brushless is the size of a small house, where do you mount this on a KSG car? is there a smaller version that would fit on the left side like the LRP?

c ya Randy

I mounted mine on the right side, far back next to t-plate.
The new Novak coming out is smaller, probably more expensive too.

Hey guys, I'm thinking about putting a points series together for us for this winter. We talked about it 2 years ago when we traveled around.

We could include all or some of these tracks:
Allen's RC- Springfield IL
Fastlane- Kansas City
SROC- Springfield MO
AJ/Intense- DeKalb IL
His&Hers- Bloomington IL

We could run either stock or brushless.
My sign business will put up $100 to the purse.
I'm going to talk to Joe Marks about making stickers that we would put on the cars. Maybe we could get a couple other companies to pitch in?

Any ideas? Please PM me with any negative ideas though.

Mike got your mail that sounds awsome to me I will chip in a few $$$ myself to help make this happen. If you would ever get over here to race we could talk about it.
I'm the only one with a brushless at Fastlane so unless we can get my guys to buy brushless motors stock would be great.

All is good in the Lane hope to see all of you soon Grand Nats Oval Warmup race soon will post date asap must talk to king Phil also...

Yes I am a live and doing very well. So Mike what Brushless System are you guys running? My only problem with Brushless is that there are new products coming out and I do not want to purschase something and then everybody goes to something else or everybody running different systems. I may start racing more this winter and the Brushless is interesting to me but I need to know more about it and I do not know if there would be that many interested here.

MK Race
09-12-2005, 05:22 PM
Hey Bob, if you go with the new Novak SS Plus with the 4300 motor, you would be ok to race anywhere. With the SS Plus you can run brushless or brush and it has brakes.

FYI I just posted this on the Illinois racer thread

Hi guys just talked with Allen.

Sounds like he will be getting new carpet for this season. Also going to look at the floor and see if it can be made a little smoother. Maybe we can have a volunteer work day of two and help him out.

He’s not yet sure of the opening date but it’s likely to be sometime in mid October. He has to harvest all that corn first.

Regarding battery rules 3700 and 3800mah pack will be allowed. Sounds like most of the tracks throughout the Midwest are going this direction.

Regarding the brushless class it will be restricted to the Novak 4300 motor but any speed control may be used. From the people I have talked with it’s likely the open ESC rule will be the same at the Wisconsin, Indiana and Ohio tracks. I’ve also herd that AJ’s/Intense Raceway will be doing the same. The Vinton group is the only one that I know off that may have a restriction on ESC’s

Allen called me again last night wanting to know if we want to sell the carpet. Calandra has some in stock right now but you never know how fast he will sell out. Allen wants to put new carpet in and would like to do it pretty soon. At least we could let him know soon.
If we don't sell, it sits at Rob's house till somebody jumps up to run the show. If we sell it to Allen, we bank the money and buy new stuff later, if somebody jumps up to run the show.

It doesn't matter to me at all. I'll be racing at Allen's on new carpet either way.

Rick I saw your post on the s-roc thread . I am not sure which of the races I will attend yet . 3 big races bak to back I dont know if I can afford that. I realy want to go to allens to race since Mike says the track will be good. Omaha since I never been there. And they guys at Fast Lane always make me feel at home . I know I will for sure run stock were ever I go . Second class will be open 19 turn . I do have a brushless but its a ss5800 and I hear those aren't allowed anywhere . And I aint you're DADDY

Hey guys , if I run the track this this winter will there be a racers? I am looking to do the same place as last year, Bob give me a call or e-mail, chensleyrc@hotmail.com. with the info for the building(I lost your number). So far the days I have available to hold the races are Sunday,s(I work every fourth Sunday a month so there will be a off day on those days), Every Friday night, and every other Sat night, I figured we could go with 2 , but which would be a better turnout for everyone else. I work late on Tue, Wed, Thur. Any interest in this?

Well on the Illinois oval thread it looks like Allen has ordered new carpet from Calandra. So, the club can keep the carpet in storage or if Chris wants to get something going, he can.

Chris, I don't know what to tell ya. We lost 2 of our hardcore racers this summer. I don't know if Charlie would rent the place out just for a couple of days a month. My best guess would be 6-8 guys racing.

chensleyrc
09-17-2005, 03:15 PM
I here ya the days that are open to me are Monday nights, Friday nights, 3 out of 4 Sundays, and 3 out of 4 Saturdays a month, we can race any of those days or all of them, if the interest is there. I really don't need to make money at it , just to pay the bills, If it happens I am doing this for the experiance and of course a place to race this winter around here.(gas prices).

Well guys I talked to Charlie today, and we havethe building, it is still like it was, needs a little sweep and some minor things he wants done, like hanging a outside light and repairing a water leak outside, but other than that it is a go. I was wondering when would be a good time to get the carpet and stand the days I can be there are Sept 26, 28 and any Monday night. I was hoping to start racing on Oct. 8 or 9.

Yeah I know its not much time but this weekend and every other weekend I work till 5 pm at my fulltime job. So everyother weekend I will open early on Saturday. And also the track will be set up already from Friday night, and for Fridays I was going to set up on Wed night after the oval is done, so it is set up from the time I open.
