Well I just purchased a new TRINITY Reflex10ss!!In my personal opinion, this has to be the WORST debut of any car ever built!!!I think they are so busy making motor coolers and battery fans with lights ,and not putting any effort in their oval cars,AT ALL!!I think they should have a RECALL on all of the new cars that were sold, and give back double what we paid, for being stupid enough to buy the junk!!!This is probably the reason JOEL quite!!!!!=ALL QUANTITY AND NO QUALITY!!!!!!!!!!

What specifically is bad? The buzz was this car broke an existing record at the first track where it ran. I was thinking of buying???? May need to rethink.

I'm not a Trinity fan,but T.J. and Terry W. were at AJ'S last Saturiday with the new car and it sure look good to me. T.J. ran 19 turn and TQ and won the main going away betting Danny B. Terry TQ and won the
stock class by a lap. Maybe you need to go to the Trinty board and ask for some setup help.

Ouch - I have one on the way. I was hoping it would be good since it appears very similar to the 1/12 car which has been great... I wanted a KSG but after a couple months of trying I just couldn't find anyone with one in stock ... and I got scared off by the parts supply issues people have. I hope I won't regret my decision...

What specifically is bad about the kit you got? I know they got whooped at the birds... but are there actual issues with the kit quality? Were you missing parts, badly machine parts ... whats the deal?

it didn't take but a week to get my ksg. it was right before the birds.

ha hahahah Teery warner did break stock class track record his first time out ... it was at trackside in milwaukee wisconsin... But the car seems to work really well... But there is 0 quality to show for... my buddy had one and the pod doesnt even fit on the chassis.. it actually hitst the chassis.. but not just a little a ton .. the pices overlap... so u have to grind off about 1/8to 1/4 of the grafite just to get the pod to fit.... this is a very very crappy production run of this car... as usual trinity will force the kit upon yah and say ohh well all the team guys had to grind the chassis, but it is still fast.... DONT LET THEM DO IT THIS TIME....... stop the madness..... if i had to base this kit on quality i would say pass on it... but i have seen it work...

Racer X : Can you please let me know specifically what your handeling problems consist of? Maybe myself or one of the other Team Trinity Oval drivers can offer some assistance.

In regards to the performace of this car: I think the results have been vey positive thus far. Trinity has been out of the oval industry for about the last 5 yrs. So give us a little time and I guarantee that we are back on top...

Results so far have concluded of:
2 new stock track records in 3 outtings ( one set @ S&N Trackside (host of the 2003 Nationals) by about 1 second on a track that only consisted of 5 total heat races. Obv. not the same "Fast" Nationals track.
The other @ Aj's raceway in dekalb; Terry Warner was only the 2nd guy in the tracks history to turn a 47 lap run and he did it in fashion 47laps 4:02...

In regards to the performance @ the Snowbirds... Those you can toss out the window. I dont think any of the Trinity Team drivers had 1 clean heat race to speak of. Kinda hard to lay negitive results on that.

I know Trinity Driver Phil Marabla has yeilded some very positive results by Tq'ing and winnng last week by a lap over his respected field.

*** I think in all due respect; you need to give this car a little more then 2 - 3 weeks results before you start jumping on this Bashing Band Wagon.... ***

*** One last thing; If your going to post a negitive comment about something / or someone; Have the decency to sign your "REAL" name @ the bottom otherwise your comments dont hold any merit.

In TJ's defense, that car had very little track time on it before the birds, where knowing how a car responds to changes means everything. The car seems to be in the development stage. not exactly sure why the car was rushed to market, but i know that wasnt his fault....my 2 cents.

Come on guys , we are just trying to help!!!!!!!
RacerX - fine we will offer our help to the person that bought your car.

The car has had very good results at our local track, I TQed and won 19turn with it this past week and Jake Flurer (another team driver) TQed and won stock the week before that. You know what the thing that made me feel the best was......a local guy bought a car and ran it for the first time this past weekend and I quote "I don't remember the last time I made the A-main" you know what, he finished 2nd (in the A) his first time out. Not to Bad.

TJ and myself will start a tread on our site to offer help, If you want it please come and ask, If not I wish you luck in all your racing.

It has nothing to do with SET-UP!!!!DO YOU UNDERSTAND!!!The car was released way to early, and those who bought it early, are the ones who have to suffer!!!!!!!!You would think a company as big as that, would have a research and development team??Especially if they have not developed a car in 5 years!!??You can post and defend it all you want,BUT the bottom line is=That car doesn't belong on the market yet!!!

Phil, TQ-ing a race when no competition is there doesn't mean anything. However TQ-ing and winning this weekend, when everybody is there. I'll give you and the car props then! As to Racer X, it seems as if his complaints have been realitively general except for saying he had to grind the pod.

In all fairness, I've never put together an Associated front end with out doing major work to get the parts not to bind. As far as handling and going fast, well that's not as simple as just building a car and putting on the track. If it was that sinple, everybody and every car would be fast all the time. That just doesn't happen.

i agree the car does work and is fast... but how does it fare for the average racer... guys like TJ, Teery, and phil can wheel almost anything... yes with some work it is a fast car... but should a new guy buying one have to take a dremel to the chassis just to finish the build on it... a buddy of mine has one.. he is close to trinity.. when i looked at it and saw the grind job he had to do i asked him if it was a prototype... he said no it is production... this to me makes no sence.... the pod should fit without grinding the chassis the amount u need to...

I think the car will and is fast... but it should be able to be built like any other kit with no grinding... i dont think in the 16 years ive been racing ive seen a production car that needed chassis modifications just to complete the build... i think a recall is needed, and the probl3em fix... i can see a samll issue, but the pod not fitting... trinity is better then that.. i also dont think trinity was out of oval for 5 years... after all the two previous cars were the swotchblade 2 and the 2002.. thats 2 years not 5.....

the pod not fittin correctly is not a cutting flaw either it is a drawing flaw.. i have been cutting the prototype chassis for the team i run for and all u have to do is send the program to the cutter..... and it cuts the drawing... if the drawing is flawed the car wont be right... maybe have whoever does the tech work look at the drawing... a flaw could be there andnot noticed... nuff said... im out

GOOD LUCK.. to all the trinity guys... i do agree with the snowbirds and clean runs.... if u dont have that u cant be fast... but thats racing..

Burbs is right.
The car should go together with out any drilling, griding or anything else to make parts fit.
Just my 2 cents :D

TJ Domark
02-25-2004, 11:39 AM
In regards to Grinding the rear pod:

Yes! You do have to remove a very slight amount of material when running the pod in the 0 degree rear steer. The car was designed with rear steer built into the chassis! The spring steel T-bar that is provided in the kit allows you 3 options...

Theres an "indication arrow" designed in the T-bar

#1) If the arrow is pointing to the "right" = 0 degree rear steer
#2) Standard T-plate = 1/2 degree rear steer
#3) If the arrow is pointing to the "left" = 1 degree rear steer

** More t-bars in the works to lessen / increase rear steer options **

Please check the Team sight for Set up tips / Questions and Answers !

Thanks!

Why would you justify having to grind anything to run a factory option? It does not matter if the car was built in with the rear steer you SHOULD not have to grind or shim or anything to use a factory option. , but on a lighter note the people complaining about having to grind alittle bit of the chassis man you must not have ever built a reflex 10 dirt car. OH WAIT!!!! Another trinity car must be in the name?!?!?!?! haha

Dude, Maybe you should get a Touring Sedan and wine your into turning left and right. The car is only as good as you make it. I'm not a Trinity fan but deal with it and make it work. It makes you a better racer.

I picked one of these babies up while at the snowbirds and just finished building it. I have to say the car went together well and the fit was good. We all do little things when building a kit that we feel will make the car faster. I may grind more graphite from the battery tray to lower the cells than someone else and as simple as an associated front end is there are a lot of different ways it can be built. I built this car for a friend who is handi cap but a very good driver so I look forward to this weekend and the flat track in Limirick PA.
I am surprized to see so many negative remarks on a kit that I would rank an 8 out of a possible 10. To give it a 10 I would have wanted to see alluminium shock collars, servo mounts, and threaded center shock body. Remember though that almost every car on the market has upgrades. Trinity is no different. :)

porksalot - yes , it is on the Trinity site, TJ and my self will help any way we can, Please remember TJ and I do not work at Trinity, but we will forward all concerns that we can't address.

Shorthanded - you have mail

S & B - I agree that you are only as good as the competition, but I do have a pretty good Idea of what lap times are needed and I think we are pretty close, Should be a fun weekend, I always enjoy racing against Chris...remember the dual we had a couple of weeks ago. Hope we have a good turnout.

and thanks for mentioning the Associated front end....O so true. (boy would that be a big recall)LOL . Going fast at the race track starts at home on the workbench!! I agree with everyone that you should not have to grind the chassis, Its just something we missed and honestly I fixed my car while the pod was on the car, it was such a tiny amount. Mike Wood at trinity is aware and he has assured us that the next run of cars will have this taken care of.

wonder if this guy has ever put together a touring car made by any company before. my god if you dont own a dremel and every bit ever made you can forget about having a free spinning touring car. lol i'm happy to see yet another oval car being made..trinity is a huge name to throw there hat back in the ring..i got to see T.J's qualifiers and mains..ugly...every year there are a few big names that struggle for one reason or another..it's called racing..not winning...we all have those weekends from time to time..BUT T.J. RACED HIS MAINS nomatter how far down the order he was he still raced! that has merit! you dont like the car..thats cool..but dont you think a call to trinity or a email to them directly would have solved this problem? maybe you got a bad kit? who knows..try resolving this via phone or email before you flame everyone...if you have done all of that than come here and bash away..but i would ask for a copy of there response to back up yours...
