I always thought the Blackhawk was cool. It would make a nice casting.

Since HW's destroyed their casting I'd assume it's fair game?

I think they would need to be finished in black fuzzy fake velvet (like the fake velour flocking you use to see on some greeting cards) That would make them match the Elvis paintings sold on street corners and at flea markets.

Nah ... I don't think Elvis had any interesting cars. Maybe an Elvis commemorative set like the Marilyn Monroe set would work.

I'd prefer cars that were featured in Elvis movies. I really liked the MB Elvis movie cars. I was hoping the series would continue to include the race car from Viva Las Vegas.

No. And that is all I will say.

I might buy some Elvis cars if they were cars that he actually drove, either in real life or in his movies. I wouldn't buy Toppers with Elvis tampos though.

MB made some good ones. I got the purple Cadillac and his mom's pink Cadillac with the Graceland dioramas. I only bought those two. I thought they best represented how Graceland really looked back in the day.
Bring on the movie cars!

hi and i would not buy them at any price.

I'd buy them. Especially the Stutz, since Hot Wheels destroyed their mold back in '99.

Really I don't think I would buy into a series like that. The cars themselves would be alright but certainly not if they had to have any kind of Tampo's on them of any kind.

Not unless they were cars that actually appeared in TV or Movies with Elvis. Maybe a release of HOW dedicated completely to Elvis screen cars??

I like Elvis but no...if there were a stutz casting I'd buy that and that's about it.
If they were exsisting castings with Elvis tampos...no way!

My thoughts exactly. I didn't buy the MB Elvis cars because I felt they were way overpriced.

Yeah..........I really liked the '62 Dodge Dart Phoenix from the MB series.........just because, who else has made one?!!....and the tampo on the side came off real easy. I'd prefer that they just be on cards, though. I was able to re-use the diorama's in presents that I made, but what a waste of money! Luckily I was able to get mine @ KB, on clearance, but still had to pay around $6 or $8 for them.
And yes! Captain Fred.........that purple Cadillac Biarritz was sharp!

midtown - what is that first car? A De Thomaso, Maserati or Ferrari? I'm not too hip on the modern european cars.

If it was ever done like the KISS stuff was (Elvis Stock Cars, Elvis Truck Series, Etc.) then no way. The REAL Elvis cars, sure. Was that a Pantera I saw? My all time favorite Ford!

Avon will put the MB Elvis cars box set (purple 56 Caddy, 55 pink Caddy, 60 MGA, 60 Jeep) on sale on their next "outlet" catalogue. - Avon.com - put rep. phone # (405) 601-0287.
(Sorry - Avonlady made me do it)

I paid full price for the purple Caddy, but I picked up the pink one on clearance! I coulda bought the other cars on clearance too, but I didn't really want them. The purple Caddy is excellent though.
I had visited Graceland the same year that those came out. I had to have at least one diorama. I pulled the Purple Caddy out of its case and put it in a case with the Monkeemobile, Eliminator, Cadzzilla and Partrige Family Bus.

Yes, but only if they were real-life cars that he owned or gave to friends. He had some nice Caddies. Also would be interested in the cars that were in his crappie movies.

how about this guys most of you are to young to remember elvis ,im old enough to have seen him twice in concert , i bought a few m.b. castings would buy the j.l. if they made some ,but wouldnt it be nice to make a line of tour bus,es with 70 or 80s rock stars ,maybe from a.c. d.c. to z.z. top a lot of good bands in between ,maybe a few country stars .we all like music of one kind or another not to many of us drive down the road with out something on the radio .my husband collected the series of country music bus,es that road champs made back in the 80s or early 90s not because he likes that kind of music .l.o.l. but liked the bus,es .it might be something new and interesting .

Probably not, I bought a couple of the MB Elvis series cars years ago, as I remember, they didn't sell well.

I think this set will surprise you guys. Elvis has a huge following, and I guarantee there will be many buyers not related to the diecast field, just plain Elvis fans.

No.
I think that these would turn into a bust, just like they did for MB.
We don't need any more licensed castings from JL.
Make one or two only vehicles as part of Hollywood On Wheels and then move on.

Cheers. Cobra

Unfortunately it's too late, the new Rock N Roll series has a bunch of Elvis cars. Probably heavilly tampoed junk.

1959 Cadillac Eldorado - Elvis
1953 Buick Super 8 - Elvis
1957 Lincoln Premier - Elvis
1956 Ford Thunderbird - Elvis
1965 Shelby 427 Cobra - Elvis
1973 Cadillac Eldorado - Elvis

I'm more intrigued by the use of the Olds for another car in the series.

On the plus side, I know someone who will clear the pegs of these for me. ;) She's a huge Elvis fan, and will buy these- she got as many of the Matchboxes as she could find.
