The new Pan car (oval) chassis from CW does sound exciting. Since mid-April is fast approaching, is there any update on production and/or a release date? Just got my tax return check and its burning a hole in my pocket.
Thanks in advance.

Take a look at CW website. That car looks like in the final stages of R & D. The rear pod adjustment looks "tight". Although not the first time I 've seen that(KGB has almost the same). Front end adjustments looks great. I can't wait to get hold of one.

So what is the little gizmo like a trailing arm with the turnbuckle and pivots attached from the lower rear pod plate to the main chassis for?

It looks like a mono ball setup Glen.I bet the car will be capable of both mono and std tplate............atleast I hope.

rear steer link like the recent KGB Sniper prototypes
You just adjust the whole angle of the rear pod and T-plate

RC driver mag advertises the new CW chassis and has a feature article that also mentions it (Snowbirds) but the latest poop is their web site that says the projected release date is now "sometime in mid June." Sigh; guess I can wait a little longer to add this baby to my growing collection.

We discontinued the link on the kgb cars... it was cool idea for adjusting rear steer, but with a t plate on it always bound up.... u could get it free, but after a tap in the back it would bind then.. we tried all diff angles and such and it never felt like it chould,,,,

have u custom works guys noticed this at all????

Burbs: Yes on all accounts... I used to use it as "insurance" with the old 2 hole style TRC Spring Steel plates, remember the ones where the holes for the pod were too big. It worked a bit better on that car at the time, thats why I figured I would give it a go with this kit, but like you said you have to "baby-sit" it all the time and thats no fun.

Thats the exact reason for taking the time to make sure its right.

We racers in Macon GA sure would like to see Custom works represented @ the 2004 Southern 500 Nationals at Echeconnee Superspeedway. I have only seen the car run on carpet and would like to see it run a low bank concrete track. The race is on the 29th and 30th of May.

Cool. As long as you don't run at Kranzels you would be ok. He don't let anything run their that he don't make or others can't buy. He wouldn't let me run my badger car from back in the day since the tranny setup they used was so much faster than any other car. Only car with a transmission to really be able to run with the direct drive CW vars back in the day.Tho I don't care much for DAVEY, he is right on the ball with that one, most tracks wont alow the badger because it was never distributed well, and the trannies were only available direct, which is covered under the rules of evry body that sanctioned dirt oval. it's a great car, or was, but limited availablity is what killed it, most places that will allow it to run only do so as a direct drive car.

meineke, i talked to Arnie last weekend and he said they are real close to finishing up they have a few small things to take care of and then send the finial design to the cutters. He said part of the hold up has been the influx of orders from the Spint cars and other products they sell. The sales have realy jumped lately. and that has taken up most of his spare time working on the Pan car. But he did say it would be real soon.

The link is probaly for rear steer since there is only one. KGB had a link like that on the Assassin series and the Sniper prototype.

Hey all,

Yes, the link is gone. I posted on this thread a while back the reasons why it did not work out. It has been replaced by a much more "cut and dry" clip (similar to the ADX cars) that has both 0 and 1/2 degree on the same piece.

I like cars, parts, etc... that can do more than just one thing, as long as they are simple too. The car I ran last weekend at Ashville had a much more "messy" looking clip on it just for testing reasons. If you can see the messy clip in any pictures rest assured the production one is much simpler. All in all the bugs are sorted out, weight trimmed and the car still will look very similar to how it has been seen.

Not as good as I'd like to be about replying to posts, however if anyone has a questions I'll try and make a better effort to check back.
